Try this on for size. ANY law which goes against the constitution is ILLEGAL and therefore is null and void. They should not even be considering laws that goes against the constitution because they take oaths to defend and protect it. The second they attempt it, they are in breach of their oaths.

Sounds good to me. We just need a way to make sure they don't create laws in secret. In ancient times, politicians feared the people because if they crossed the line, the people physically came to their houses and made their dissatisfaction known. Todays politicians are very insulated against the people. They need to fear us again. I'm not saying we should go to their houses and drag them out as in former times for some real justice, but they need to know they can't get away with tyranny.

Including sedition and treason? Sedition and treason are not necessarily, "non-violent," crimes, especially treason. How many people died because of the sedition or treason that otherwise would not have?

Define justice.

One other point of note. Different people will have different views about any particular felon. What are the actions of a repentant sinner? It is up to each individual to decide for themselves whether they think someone has paid the price for their crimes or not. You cannot use force of government to, "make," people ignore your past deeds. The simpler solutions would not to do things you shouldn't do. Yes, we all make mistakes, but very few people cross the line into the more heinous territory.
