That "observation tower" looks a lot like a guard tower. Located next to railroad tracks. Close to both Mile High Stadium and Pepsi Center. Easy to set up and stage massive amounts of people. Imagine those parking lots re-tasked. Now notice (not in photo) all the new town homes nearby. Officers quarters?

That first pic is DEN airport. Still waiting for someone to explain the "hotel" on the left (south) side of the main terminal. Design reminds me of something out of WWII Germany.
