5 dead in Berkshire County house fire

SHEFFIELD, Mass. — Five people were found dead inside a Berkshire County home on Wednesday morning after a fire, the Berkshire County District Attorney's office said.

Police and fire departments received a call about the blaze at the 1343 Home Road residence in Sheffield, a western Massachusetts town, at about 7:5o a.m., said Dennis Yusko, a spokesman for the prosecutor's office.

Once the flames were extinguished a preliminary search found one person dead inside the home, officials said. After a second search, four other bodies were found.

USS Fort McHenry stuck at sea after virus outbreak among sailors, Marines

Sailors and Marines have been stuck out at sea in quarantine since this past December due to a viral outbreak, according to a new report.

Military officials hadn’t publicly spoken about the incident – which has trapped 25 sailors and Marines on the USS Fort McHenry at sea in the Persian Gulf – until CNN contacted them for a report this week.

Sailors and Marines aboard USS Fort McHenry have contracted parotitis, a viral infection with symptoms mirroring that of mumps. The outbreak started in December 2018, and the most recent case was reported Saturday.

“None of the cases are life-threatening and all have either already made or are expected to make a full recovery,” the Fifth Fleet told CNN.

The Fifth Fleet noted that all 703 personnel have been vaccinated with measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) boosters.

At least 13 troops killed, 12 captured in Taliban attacks on Afghan army posts

Taliban fighters have launched attacks on several army posts in western Afghanistan, killing at least 13 Afghan soldiers, officials say.

Jamshid Shahabi, a spokesman for Badghis Province’s governor, said on March 12 that 42 militants were also killed and 15 troops were wounded in the fighting in the province bordering Turkmenistan.

The fate of a dozen other soldiers is unknown, according to Shahabi.

Defense Ministry spokesman Qais Mangal said that government reinforcements backed by air support had been sent to Bala Murghab district after the Taliban launched its offensive late on March 9.

Homeless man wanted by ICE arrested for murder; tried to detain him 9 times

A homeless man arrested on Monday for stabbing a San Jose woman to death last month was an undocumented immigrant who had been ordered detained by federal authorities nine times, officials said Tuesday. But the man, who had multiple convictions for misdemeanor and felony offenses, was released from the Santa Clara County jail twice in the months before the killing.

On Tuesday, San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo issued a sharply-worded criticism of the county’s policy of not honoring federal immigration detention orders at the jail. Liccardo said the policy “undermines public safety, and violates common sense.”

San Jose Police Chief Eddie Garcia joined with Liccardo and Santa Clara County Sheriff Laurie Smith in criticizing the policy Tuesday. At a press conference, Garcia said he was well aware of the ways in which the case probably would be politicized amid a heated national debate over immigration and local “sanctuary” policies meant to protect undocumented residents from federal authorities.

But, Garcia said, there was a distinction between protecting and embracing “otherwise law-abiding undocumented residents” and policies that he said “shield admitted gangsters or violent criminals.”

NXIVM President Nancy Salzman pleads guilty as Raniere faces new charges

There was no public disclosure in court of whether Salzman has agreed to cooperate in the ongoing investigation by the Justice Department, which last year brought charges against Salzman as well as her daughter Lauren; NXIVM co-founder Keith Raniere; television actress Allison Mack; Clare Bronfman, the organization's operations director and an heiress of the Seagram's liquor empire; and Kathy Russell, a longtime bookkeeper for NXIVM.

Salzman's plea came as the government filed a superseding indictment on Wednesday against the five remaining defendants. The new indictment severed Nancy Salzman from the case and added seven additional charges, most that center on Raniere's alleged sexual contact with at least two underage girls.

The new racketeering charges include multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a child and possession of child pornography, and one count of visa fraud. If convicted of the child exploitation charges, which the government said are buttressed by electronic messages, photographs and witness accounts, Raniere faces a minimum of 15 years in prison

YouTube Demonetized My Entire Channel — and You Won’t Believe Why

I was getting ready for my radio show on Monday when I spotted an announcement on the AskDrBrown YouTube channel. The entire channel — now, almost 1,600 videos — has been demonetized.

By now, I’ve been used to the constantly changing standards of YouTube, not to mention the non-existent customer service.

I’m talking about YouTube approving a video one day that speaks out against abortion while telling me the next day that a generic video where I answer caller questions about the Bible is not suitable for most advertisers.

As I’ve written before, if it wasn’t so ridiculous, it would be funny.

And, to emphasize this once again, while YouTube/Google is a private company, they are obligated to abide by their guidelines and to enforce them in an even-handed and fair way. This they have not done.

Amazon’s Anti-Christian, Pro-Muslim and Nazi-Neutral Policies

Grand Jury Filing Over Use of Explosives on 9/11 “Names Names” of Who May Have Blown Up Towers

As TFTP reported, a monumental step forward in the relentless pursuit of 9/11 truth took place in December when a United States Attorney agreed to comply with federal law requiring submission to a Special Grand Jury of evidence that explosives were used to bring down the World Trade Centers. Now, the group behind the submission, the Lawyers’ Committee for 9/11 Inquiry, announced the filing of a “petition supplement” naming persons who may have information related to the use of said explosives.

According to Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, the 33-page document contains 15 different categories of persons who may have information material to the investigation, including contractors and security companies that had access to the WTC Towers before 9/11, persons and entities who benefited financially from the WTC demolitions, and persons arrested after being observed celebrating the WTC attacks.

A names-redacted version of the petition supplement, which was filed with the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York on February 14, 2019, has been made available to the public. The un-redacted version filed with the U.S. Attorney today will remain undisclosed in the interest of maintaining the secrecy, security, and integrity of the grand jury proceeding.

Denmark to make foreign mosque funding illegal

A new law proposal from the Danish government and the right-wing Danish People’s Party would make it illegal for foreign governments and authorities to give money to religious communities and institutions in Denmark.

The law will be implemented if the donations are assessed to pose a security threat and undermine Denmark’s fundamental freedoms and democracy. The ban will cover loans, gifts, donation of equipment, financial aid to staff and even hiring premises.

Extensive support to mosques from countries such as Qatar and Turkey is said to be one of the primary reasons for the ban.

In the past, countries such as Turkey and Qatar have donated money to both religious bodies and mosques.

“We have been extremely frustrated by the examples of mosques funded from abroad. And I am sure that a ban on foreign donations will stop the cash flow”, the Danish People’s Party’s foreign spokesman, Martin Henriksen, says.

Instead, law enforcement in America often chooses profit over people. One particularly egregious example of this choice is the fact that tens of thousands of raids on people for suspected illegal substances take place every year, while hundreds of thousands of rape kits collect dust in police departments across the country.

If you were murdered today, there’s only a 60% chance of police catching the person who did it. That number drops to 3% if you’re raped. 50 years ago, that number was much higher. What happened?

The answer to that question can be found by looking at where police allocate much of their time and resources.

Civil asset forfeiture pays. Busting low-level drug dealers by the dozen and confiscating their drugs, guns, cars, houses, and money pays. Writing tickets for victimless crime pays. Pulling you over for window tint, seat belts, arbitrary traveling speeds, and expired license plates; these are the things that pay—not solving crimes.

In criminal justice, clearance rates are used as a measure of crimes solved by the police. The clearance rate is calculated by dividing the number of crimes that are “cleared” (a charge being laid) by the total number of crimes recorded.

Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) daughter is leading a national movement of students seeking to ditch class on Friday to participate in a worldwide climate change protest.

Omar’s daughter, Isra Hirsi, 16, of Minneapolis, is spearheading the nationwide youth climate strike protests across the U.S. in nearly 50 states and Washington, DC., along with co-organizers Alexandria Villasenor, 13, of New York, and Haven Coleman, 12, of Denver.

Hirsi, who lists on Twitter page that she is the head of the Minnesota High School Democrats and several other left-wing youth-based organizations, said in a recent interview with Grist that she is looking to “change the conversation” on issues such as the Green New Deal by organizing the strike.

“That’s what we’re trying to do: Change the conversation not only about things like the Green New Deal but so much more. Obviously, one strike isn’t going to change everything, but this isn’t the last strike,” Hirsi said.

Omar is also supporting her daughter’s movement by promising to attend the nationwide protest in Washington, DC, on Friday. The Minnesota Democrat tweeted Wednesday that she hoped her colleagues would join her at the protest:
