New York (CNN)Kevin Tsujihara, the head of WarnerMedia's movie and television studio, is leaving the company amid an investigation into allegations about an improper relationship with an actress.

There is no immediate word about his successor.

John Stankey, the CEO of WarnerMedia, said Monday that "it is in the best interest of WarnerMedia, Warner Bros., our employees and our partners for Kevin to step down as Chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Kevin has contributed greatly to the studio's success over the past 25 years and for that we thank him. Kevin acknowledges that his mistakes are inconsistent with the Company's leadership expectations and could impact the Company's ability to execute going forward."

Earlier this month Tsujihara was given additional responsibilities and a new title, chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Entertainment, amid a broader reorganization of WarnerMedia, which also owns CNN

Days later, The Hollywood Reporter published a detailed story about allegations that he offered to promote the career of a young actress, Charlotte Kirk, with whom he was having a sexual relationship.

At the time, WarnerMedia said, "Through her spokesperson, the actress has publicly denied any impropriety in her casting, and our prior investigation did not find otherwise. Whenever we receive new allegations, it is our standard practice to conduct an appropriate investigation. And that is what we will do here."

EBENSBURG, Pa. — A former Pennsylvania pediatrician was sentenced to at least 79 years in prison on Monday for the sexual assault of 31 children, most of them patients, in a case that state medical regulators failed to act on nearly two decades ago.

Dr. Johnnie Barto of Johnstown was sentenced on dozens of counts, including aggravated indecent assault and child endangerment. Prosecutors say he spent decades abusing boys and girls in the exam room at his pediatric practice in western Pennsylvania and at local hospitals, with his victims typically ranging in age from 8 to 12. One was an infant.

Russia has announced plans to deploy nuclear-capable strategic bombers to the Crimean Peninsula in response to the US missile defense deployment in Romania.

Russia's RIA news agency quoted a senior Russian lawmaker as saying on Monday that Moscow had decided to station the Tupolev Tu-22M3 long-range bombers at the Gvardeyskoye air base in Crimea.

"The US missile defense deployment in Romania was a serious challenge, in response to which the Russian Defense Ministry decided to deploy in Crimea, at the air base in Gvardeiskoye, squadrons of Tu-22M3 long-range bombers," Viktor Bondarev, head of the upper house of Russian parliament's defense and security committee, was quoted as saying.

“This step radically changed the balance of forces in the region,” Bondarev added.

The senior Russian lawmaker said the strategic bombers stationed in Crimea would be modernized to be able to destroy air and missile defense systems everywhere in Europe
