Because they don't wan people asking too many questions or discovering too many inconvenient truths before they disarm their populace over this FF.

But I'd be surprised if most planes don't get replaced in 10 years by swarms of smaller more disposable drones, piloted safely from Kansas (or at least far behind defensive lines).
I imagine they could build 20+ drones for the same price (in production scales).
And a single 'pilot' (XBox trained teenager) could probably manage a handful at once.
Overwhelm enemy defenses with a swarm of small agile planes.
It makes more sense on so many levels.
