And radio comms can be spoofed, in addition to rc'ing the plane.

I listened to the audio again, and it sure sounds like colonel mustard in the kitchen with the lead pipe to me, in hindsight.
His voice sounds like it is in complete control of the aircraft, and he's trolling the ground crew. It also sounds like he knows he's being timed for a shoot down.
