Loli and the Monster seems to have been the inspiration for the Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow boss "Gergoth", which is one I'd always wondered about. Most all the enemies in Castlevania games are directly drawn from mythology or history, but this one always had me confused. Game files refer to him as Fafnir (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fafnir) but it's pretty clear now exactly how the visual design came to be.
