He will have his reasons for doing this.

But I fear that this will not promote the peace in the ME.

This will only fuel the narrative in Muslim countries that the US will always do, what's in the interest of Israel. Even, if this indeed IS a good idea (I don't know, if it is a good idea), the Muslim world will be not amused.
