“Surely at the command (mouth) of the LORD it came upon Judah, to remove them from His sight because of the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he had done, and also for the innocent blood which he shed, for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; AND THE LORD WOULD NOT FORGIVE.” [All caps mine] 2 Kings 24: 3 &4
Manasseh burned his son alive in Jerusalem. He was then taken prisoner to Babylon where he repented, was sent back to Jerusalem to rule and tore down the altars. His grandson, Josiah, led the people in a great revival Few kings later, again, child sacrifice and the reprieve was over and the conquest by Babylonians completed. Lamentations was written.
The Israelites were told that they were being given the promised land, not because they were better than the natives but because those kingdoms to be annihilated were sacrificing their children. The Israelites were warned NOT to follow the abominable practices or the same would happen to their nation. They did and it happened.
The Native Americans practiced human sacrifice and we all know about the Incas and Mayans. Therefore, knowing that God does not change, we have a chance at a reprieve, but only if we overturn the laws.
