Did the FBI retaliate against Michael Flynn by launching a Russia probe?
Flynn was an adverse witness in a pending sexual discrimination case against McCabe at the time McCabe was supervising a criminal inquiry targeting Flynn.
McCabe knew that Supervisory Special Agent Robyn Gritz planned to file an EEO complaint against him before he launched an internal investigation against her. Flynn provided a letter of support for the agent—which FBI lawyers tried to bar from evidence in the case.
Flynn’s intervention on behalf of Gritz included not only a letter in 2014, but a public interview in 2015 supporting Gritz’s case & an offer to testify on her behalf. His offer put him as a hostile witness in a case against McCabe.
