Flynn was an adverse witness in a pending sexual discrimination case against McCabe at the time McCabe was supervising a criminal inquiry targeting Flynn.

Google launches global council to advise on AI and tech ethics

The council, which is slated to publish a report at the end of 2019, includes technology experts, digital ethicists, and people with public policy backgrounds, Kent Walker, Googleโ€™s senior vice president for global affairs, said at a Massachusetts Institute of Technology conference.

The group is meant to provide recommendations for Google and other companies and researchers working in areas such as facial recognition software, a form of automation that has prompted concerns about racial bias and other limitations.

โ€œWe want to have the most informed and thoughtful conversations we can,โ€ Walker said on stage at the MIT Technology Review event in San Francisco. โ€œWe want to sit down with the council and see what agenda they want to set.โ€

Google already has its own internal AI principles, which, among other provisions, bars the California-based tech firm from using AI to develop weapons.

The eight-member Advanced Technology External Advisory Council includes Joanna Bryson, an associate professor in computing at the University of Bath; William J. Burns, a former U.S. deputy secretary of state, and Dyan Gibbens, chief executive of Houston-based drone startup Trumbull, according to a Google blog post.

The council will meet four times, beginning in April, the blog post said.

The British Guardian posted a report on April 13 claiming that its sources now admit that the British spy agency GCHQ was digitally wiretapping Trump associates, going back to late 2015. This was presumably when the December 2015 Moscow meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Lt. General Michael Flynn took place.

 

This runs contrary to the blanket nature of the denial insinuated in GCHQโ€™s carefully-crafted statement of March 17 claiming it was all โ€œnonsenseโ€ and โ€œutterly ridiculousโ€ that they conducted surveillance of โ€œthen president-electโ€ Donald Trump (emphasis added). The surveillance went back a year before he became โ€œpresident-elect.โ€

 

President Trumpโ€™s claim of being โ€œwire tappedโ€ has been vindicated. Indeed, the surveillance is far more extensive than even he suspected at the time.

 

Based on the new disclosures, we can safely conclude that the worldโ€™s most advanced and extensive system of computerized espionage was indeed used against him and people he worked with, for political purposes, with the knowledge and approval of top Obama officials such as CIA Director John Brennan (one major name implicated by the Guardian).

 

Fox News Senior Judicial Analyst, Judge Andrew Napolitano, who said GCHQ was involved in wiretapping Trump, has also vindicated. Fox News owes Napolitano an apology for yanking him off the air for a week for making that โ€œcontroversialโ€ and now-verified assertion.

President Trump stressed the pervasive โ€œextentโ€ of this Obama political โ€œwiretappingโ€ to Maria Bartiromo of Fox Business in an Oval Office interview on April 11 (aired April 12). โ€œMe and so many other peopleโ€ surveilled, Trump said. He explained again that he had picked up the โ€œwire tappedโ€ terminology straight from the headline of The New York Times (of January 20) as he has explained before (on March 15; see AIM report).

 

Now weโ€™re learning that GCHQ did wiretap Trump for a year before the election. โ€œTrumpโ€ is, of course, shorthand for Trump associates and possibly Trump himself directly, depending on context. But GCHQ is trying to put a positive spin on what it admits would be illegal spying on U.S. citizens if done by U.S. agencies.

 

The Guardianโ€™s sources claim a heroic role for the British GCHQ as a courageous โ€œwhistleblowerโ€ in warning U.S. agencies to โ€œWatch outโ€ about Trump and Russiaโ€”but carefully avoiding mention of the U.S.โ€™s NSA, which must be protected at all costs as part of the NSA-GCHQ spy-on-each-otherโ€™s-citizens โ€œwiretap shell game.โ€ (See AIM Special Report of March 18).

 

These sources virtually admit the mutual โ€œwiretap shell gameโ€ by inadvertently mentioning the Trump-Russia data was originally passed on to the U.S. by GCHQ as part of a โ€œroutine exchangeโ€ of intelligence. The use of this term, โ€œexchange,โ€ suggests what we had previously reportedโ€”the shell-game โ€œexchangeโ€ between the NSA and GCHQ where they can spy on each otherโ€™s citizens and deny it all.

New GSDF units deployed for defense of islands in Japanโ€™s southwest

 

The Ground Self-Defense Force established on Tuesday new bases on Amami-Oshima island in Kagoshima Prefecture and Miyakojima island in Okinawa Prefecture to enhance the defense of the nationโ€™s southwestern Nansei Islands.

 

On Amami-Oshima island, surface-to-air and surface-to-ship missile units were deployed, with the latter marking their first deployment in the Nansei Islands.

 

Surface-to-air and surface-to-ship missile units are also scheduled to be deployed next fiscal year to the Miyakojima base, which was inaugurated on the same day.

The new deployment is aimed at putting a check on China, a country that has been making maritime advances in the area.

That tells you the FISA judges place almost complete authority/trust with the FBI/DOJ representatives that supply the information and request for the warrant. We've now seen where that can lead. (This is discounting the possibility of any shenanigans from the judges themselves).

 

According to the current FISA procedures, any potential exculpatory information about the target needs to be provided to the court by the same officials that are requesting the warrant. This alone is a conflict of interest, and its hard to fathom how even reasonable investigators could be expected to comply fully.

 

If this position of power is to continue, those placed in such positions of trust must have demonstrable perfection in their ethics and their candor.

President Trump on Tuesday officially nominated Transportation official Jeffrey Rosen to serve as deputy attorney general at the Department of Justice upon Rod Rosenstein's departure.

 

Rosen currently serves as deputy secretary of Transportation, and will require Senate confirmation for his new role. He previously served in the George W. Bush administration and practiced law at the Kirkland & Ellis law firm.

 

Trump's choice of Rosen was first reported last month, but the president officially sent the nomination to the Senate on Tuesday.

 

Rosenstein was previously expected to leave his role in mid-March, but a senior DOJ official told NBC News last week that he would remain on "a little longer."

 

His exit could be imminent now that special counsel Robert Mueller has wrapped up his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

 

Attorney General William Barr issued a four-page summary on Sunday of Mueller's main findings, writing that the special counsel's investigation did not find that there was collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government. On the matter of alleged obstruction of justice, Mueller said he had neither exonerated Trump nor concluded that he had committed a crime, according to Barr's summary.

 

Rosenstein oversaw the special counsel's investigation after former Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself, but turned over control of the probe to Barr upon his confirmation earlier this year.

 

Rosenstein came under scrutiny in recent months following a report that he'd been part of discussions about invoking the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office.

 

The president seized on the allegations, detailed by former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, to suggest the two men looked "like they were planning a very illegal act, and got caught."

 

The Justice Department issued a statement calling McCabe's account of events "inaccurate and factually incorrect."

 

McCabe also walked back his remarks, with a spokeswoman issuing a statement that he did not "participate in any extended discussions about the use of the 25th Amendment, nor is he aware of any such discussions."

But there have been other security lapses, the sources said, including the one that led to the arrest of NSA contractor Harold Martin earlier this year.

 

Rogers is being considered as a potential new director of national intelligence by President-elect Donald Trump, a post that oversees all 17 U.S. intelligence agencies.

 

The Washington Post reported that a decision by Rogers to travel to New York to meet with Trump on Thursday without notifying superiors caused consternation at senior levels of the administration, but the recommendation to remove him predated his visit.

 

Rogers is head of both the National Security Agency and the U.S. militaryโ€™s Cyber Command. Carter was also disappointed with the Cyber Commandโ€™s performance in the war against Islamic State, another source said.

 

The White House, Pentagon, NSA and office of the Director of National Intelligence declined to comment. A Trump campaign spokesman had no immediate comment.

So I don't know if this was posted here, but I felt it was important to share again

 

Sgt report on YouTube presents an interview with architects and engineers for 9/11 truth.

I basically came to the same conclusions by watching 20-30 separate videos on 9/11 discrepancies. Some didn't makes sense and some hit home when that little gut feeling tells you - yes that's true .

 

Also I remember going on YouTube the day after the attacks and finding fairly easy a video clip of the Pentagon wall.

The FBI was going around confiscating all the camera footage from the area but that one made it online somehow.

What I saw with my own eyes was a skinny white long middle.with a little fire/white trail right behind it. Very slim and very fast. At the last few seconds it was flying parallel to the ground and maybe 10-15 feet above the ground. The next second it hit the wall and exploded.

I never believed 100% there was a plane there. Even after they conveniently scattered airplane parts on the ground.

 

Today. It makes much more sense with all the evidence that has come out.

 

Also if you dig on YouTube you can find an interview with Larry silverstain where he states, and I'm paraphrasing, the fires and damage of building 7 was so great , that they made the decision to pull it.

You can't just pull a building. The term refers to controlled demolition which involves weeks if not months of planning , placing explosives in very specific locations, breaching structural walls and the use of military grade thermite.

The transcript of George Papadopoulosโ€™ private testimony to a joint congressional task force investigating potential bias in the Justice Department and the FBI was released Tuesday. Rep. Doug Collins, R-Ga., the ranking member of the committee, took to the House floor to put the 239-page transcript in the record.

 

"Over the past few weeks, I have released the transcripts of Peter Strzok, Bruce Ohr, and Lisa Page from the Judiciary Committeeโ€™s investigation into apparent wrongdoing at the FBI and DOJ," Collins said. "I have said I would make additional transcripts from the investigation public, and I am here today to keep that promise โ€ฆ so the American people can review the transcript of George Papadopoulos. The American people deserve to know the origins of the probe against President Trumpโ€™s campaign.โ€ As part of special counsel Robert Muellerโ€™s Russia investigation, Papadopoulos pleaded guilty to making false statements to the FBI related to meetings and conversations with Russian officials in 2016 and in December spent nearly two weeks in prison.

 

The transcript of his October interview with the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees shows Papadopoulos explained how he was swept up in the DOJ and FBI investigation into then-candidate Trump. โ€œI guess blissfully, ignorant, of, you know, like I said, the U.S.-Russia relationship and kind of maybe a little too ambitious at the time," Papadopoulos said about his foreign contacts. โ€œI was a complete wannabe when it came to the U.S.-Russia relationship,โ€ he added.

 

Papadopoulos said he met Joseph Mifsud, alleged to have connections to high-ranking Russian officials, around March 14, 2016, telling the committee that his position on Trumpโ€™s campaign wasnโ€™t yet public. โ€œHe took a liking to me immediately once he knew that I would be working on the Trump campaign,โ€ Papadopoulos said of Mifsud. Trump announced that Papadopoulos was on his foreign policy advisory board on March 21, 2016, saying: "Heโ€™s an oil and energy consultant. The British Guardian posted a report on April 13 claiming that its sources now admit that the British spy agency GCHQ was digitally wiretapping Trump associates, going back to late 2015. This was presumably when the December 2015 Moscow meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Lt. General Michael Flynn took place.

 

This runs contrary to the blanket nature of the denial insinuated in GCHQโ€™s carefully-crafted statement of March 17 claiming it was all โ€œnonsenseโ€ and โ€œutterly ridiculousโ€ that they conducted surveillance of โ€œthen president-electโ€ Donald Trump (emphasis added). The surveillance went back a year before he became โ€œpresident-elect.โ€

 

President Trumpโ€™s claim of being โ€œwire tappedโ€ has been vindicated. Indeed, the surveillance is far more extensive than even he suspected at the time.

 

Based on the new disclosures, we can safely conclude that the worldโ€™s most advanced and extensive system of computerized espionage was indeed used against him and people he worked with, for political purposes, with the knowledge and approval of top Obama officials such as CIA Director John Brennan (one major name implicated by the Guardian).

 

Fox News Senior Judicial Analyst, Judge Andrew Napolitano, who said GCHQ was involved in wiretapping Trump, has also vindicated. Fox News owes Napolitano an apology for yanking him off the air for a week for making that โ€œcontroversialโ€ and now-verified assertion.

 

Trump Was Right

 

President Trump stressed the pervasive โ€œextentโ€ of this Obama political โ€œwiretappingโ€ to Maria Bartiromo of Fox Business in an Oval Office interview on April 11 (aired April 12). โ€œMe and so many other peopleโ€ surveilled, Trump said. He explained again that he had picked up the โ€œwire tappedโ€ terminology straight from the headline of The New York Times (of January 20) as he has explained before (on March 15; see AIM report).

 

Now weโ€™re learning that GCHQ did wiretap Trump for a year before the election. โ€œTrumpโ€ is, of course, shorthand for Trump associates and possibly Trump himself directly, depending on context. But GCHQ is trying to put a positive spin on what it admits would be illegal spying on U.S. citizens if done by U.S. agencies.

 

The Guardianโ€™s sources claim a heroic role for the British GCHQ as a courageous โ€œwhistleblowerโ€ in warning U.S. agencies to โ€œWatch outโ€ about Trump and Russiaโ€”but carefully avoiding mention of the U.S.โ€™s NSA, which must be protected at all costs as part of the NSA-GCHQ spy-on-each-otherโ€™s-citizens โ€œwiretap shell game.โ€ (See AIM Special Report of March 18).

 

These sources virtually admit the mutual โ€œwiretap shell gameโ€ by inadvertently mentioning the Trump-Russia data was originally passed on to the U.S. by GCHQ as part of a โ€œroutine exchangeโ€ of intelligence. The use of this term, โ€œexchange,โ€ suggests what we had previously reportedโ€”the shell-game โ€œexchangeโ€ between the NSA and GCHQ where they can spy on each otherโ€™s citizens and deny it all.

A Boeing 737 Max 8 plane โ€” the same model that the Federal Aviation Administration grounded after two recent crashes โ€” made an emergency landing at Orlando International Airport on Tuesday afternoon.

 

No passengers were on the jet, only two pilots for the plane's owner, Southwest Airlines. The pilots were flying the jet to California for storage when an engine overheated just before 3 p.m., a spokesman for the airline told NBC News. The plane was in the air about 11 minutes, the spokesman said.

 

The flight was scheduled to fly to Southern California Logistics Airport in Victorville, California, for short-term storage, according to the spokesman.

 

"The pilots reported a performance issue with one of the engines shortly after takeoff," the spokesman said.

 

The pilots landed safely at the airport. The plane will be moved to the airline's Orlando maintenance facility for review and will be taken to Victorville once it's safe to do so.
