Determined to find the source of the sonic booms, the local community have mobilized together on Facebook, creating a forum to track the times, directions, and size of the sounds, hoping to catch the culprits in action.
Conspiracy theories of alien invasions and secret military operations have been regularly touted among the group's - called 'Fair Oaks Bangs' - 800 members, but still the phenomenon remains a mystery.
One resident's doorbell camera caught an explosion in motion on Sunday night, but the footage wasn't able to show what - or who - was causing the noise.
It rattles the windows, it sounds like a firework going off in my backyard,' resident Dallis Stumpf to CBS Local.
Stumpf added that the noises regularly startle her children.
'She’s two-years-old and she comes out, "mommy what is that?" and she freaks out,' Stumpf said.
After receiving several calls last weekend, the Fair Oaks Sheriff's Department sent out a helicopter and a squadron of deputies to investigate the reports, but even they came up empty.
'Nobody has actually seen them,' said another resident. 'Like, who they are, hold old they are, vehicle description, license plate number.
'Nothing; they're like ghosts,' she concluded.

Jones was with his wife and comedian Joe Rogan when a group of people from the outside dining area approached and told him to 'eat sh*t' saying 'we're going to get you' and began chanting 'This is class war. Eat the rich and feed the poor'.

As Jones launched his scathing tirade, the unperturbed diners laughed, insulted his appearance, and egged the right-wing conspiracy theorist on.

Jones addressed the incident in a recent Infowars episode explaining that he had been eating at a local steakhouse with his wife and Joe Rogan, an MMA color commentator and comedian, and they went to Lucy's afterwards.
'We've been going for many years. It's a great place,' Jones said.
