Lawfag here. I'll warn you that this advice is worth what you are paying for it (not much). My reading of this ambiguous drop is that Sessions was seeking an independent judgment of his own limitations from his prior recusal of the Russia SC probe supervision. My further reading is that the SCOTUS guidance freed him up to act on surrounding issues without running afoul of his recusal restrictions.

I guess we will see someday (soon I hope).
