The "some good" list is crap, except for the best one of the bunch, Salvation Army…

 

Go look at their financial statements! A large portion of donations go to raising more money.

 

St. Jude $ is ALSAC - (American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities and who your checks/donations are made out to)- Money raised goes to world wide places. Last I checked ALSAC gave about 23% to St. Jude. Then after St. Jude ADMINISTRATION (managers to administer the donations) takes their cut, St. Jude might get 10%. The chart of amounts that goes to needy is mostly false info.

 

Current Financial Statements always seem to be lagging.

Yes, I only donate to local stuff, and even found it better to help pay a relative's or person's electric or water bill. That way I know that it isn't being wasted.
