Tucker: Assange's True Crime Was 'Embarrassing Virtually Everyone In Power in Washington'

Fox News host Tucker Carlson said Thursday night that Julian Assange's real crime was embarrassing the powerful in Washington, DC.

"Julian Assange embarrassed virtually everyone in power in Washington," Tucker Carlson said. "He published documents that undermined the official story on the Iraq war and Afghanistan. He got Debbie Wasserman Schultz fired from the DNC. He humiliated Hillary Clinton by showing that the Democratic primaries were in fact rigged."

Georgetown University students approve new fee to fund reparations for slavery

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Georgetown University students on Thursday voted to approve a new student fee to create a fund for the descendants of slaves sold by the university in the 1830s.

The vote’s results were announced after a contentious day on campus with proponents of the measure hosting a rally on campus, chanting “when they don’t act — we fight back,” and encouraging students to get out the yes vote.

Some opponents of the measure, meanwhile, told The College Fix their fliers explaining arguments against the referendum were torn and discarded and that they felt scared to voice their opinions.

Of the 3,845 students who voted in the spring election, 2,541 students — or 66.08 percent — voted to approve the measure, according to the official announcement of the results presented by the Georgetown University Student Association Election Commission late Thursday night.

Suspect in Michael Knowles UMKC assault identified, faces multiple charges

Police arrested a protester at the University of Missouri-Kansas City after he doused conservative commentator Michael Knowles in a substance "designed to smell like bleach" during a campus speaking engagement.

Knowles, a Daily Wire columnist, was invited to speak at UMKC as a guest of both the university’s Young America’s Foundation and College Republicans chapters. The speech, titled “Men are Not Women,” drew a crowd of protesters, many of whom were escorted out of the room.

“Appears the attacker was a hoaxer who was fine getting charged with assault but wanted to avoid a felony”

Video published by student newspaper UMKC University News shows two officers struggling to handcuff one protester who allegedly threw the mysterious substance on Knowles, a photo of which Knowles tweeted out. On Friday, UMKC identified the individual who was arrested as UMKC student Gerard G. Dabu. Dabu has been charged with assault, peaceful disturbance, assault on law enforcement, property damage, and resisting arrest. Dabu was released on bond.

‘Like a dagger in our backs’: racism no longer just black and white as South Africa’s Chinese fight hate speech

A courtroom showdown over “genocidal hate speech”, labelling Chinese people living in South Africa as the “scum of the Earth”, is underway in Johannesburg.

The anti-Chinese hate speech case began last month in the South Gauteng High Court’s equality court.

Twelve respondents, alleged to have posted “humiliating and intimidating” comments online, according to The Chinese Association (TCA), are answering for their views.

Closer Everyday

More than 40 central banks worldwide are researching on government cryptocurrencies

According to a report by the World Economic Forum, more than 40 central banks deal with state digital currencies.

The World Economic Forum, a Swiss foundation best known for its eponymous annual conference in Davos, released a report on central bank blockchain research on Wednesday.

According to the report, more than 40 central banks around the world are addressing the issue of government digital currencies (CBDCs) or intending to begin their investigations in the near future. This research movement was initiated by the Bank of England in 2014 and has now produced more than 60 academic reports.

An important project remains unnamed

The report of the World Economic Forum names, among other things, the e-Krona project of the Swedish Reichsbank. The Scandinavian country is particularly predestined for a state digital currency because of its sharply lower cash use.

Hillary Clinton campaign chief joins fight to get Kavanaugh fired as guest prof

Students and professors vying to get Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh fired as a guest professor now have a new ally in a former Hillary Clinton campaign chief.

Brian Fallon, who served as press secretary for Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign, is running Facebook ads calling for users of the social media platform to sign on to a Change.org petition, HuffPost reported. The ads will be targeted at Facebook users who have a relationship with George Mason University.

“Brett Kavanaugh has been credibly accused of sexual assault by multiple women whose allegations have not been thoroughly investigated,” Fallon, who serves as executive director of left-wing judicial advocacy organization Demand Justice, said in a press release. “His confirmation to the Supreme Court does not absolve him of guilt, and he should not be given a platform to teach. We stand with survivors and urge the George Mason University administration to fire Kavanaugh.”

As Campus Reform previously reported, Kavanaugh is set to teach a course entitled "Creation of the Constitution" over the summer in the United Kingdom.
