PALM SUNDAY AND QANONS
The Pharisees of Jerusalem got an unnerving wake-up call from the people on Palm Sunday. They had heard Jesus was coming and many of them accompanied him into Jerusalem carrying palm branches. The Pharisees would have recognized the symbology of the palm tree from their own studies, as that of righteousness, strength and authority.
The palm tree also identified with Jericho, known as the "city of palm trees." And Jericho was the historic beach-head of Joshua's invasion of the promised land the first time. Palm trees were also etched into every wall of the temple of Solomon.
The Palm Sunday procession was only a small crowd of those who understood the importance of many of the things Jesus had done previously. They also called him "son of David" at this event. This has simple meaning in the physical, but we are supposed to look for metaphoric meaning today (the "spiritual law"). A son bears the likeness of his father. And the most notable thing about David is he spent many years after his ordination embattled by the previous administration.
Jesus also likened Palm Sunday to another time to come, which he identified as "the time the prince of this world is cast out" (and that it would happen again) which we know did not exactly take place at that time. But this saying was also reaffirmed by a voice of agreement from heaven at that moment.
Then there seems to be a connection made in scripture to another time when this latter event takes place.
The very next exchange in the book of John has the people asking Jesus, "Who is the son of man?" Jesus would respond with reference to the children of light (as those inquiring) and then he hid himself.
The implication here is as if the people are left holding the bag in his absence.
Many ancient sages believed the scriptural "time of man" was to be 6000 years, represented by the six days of creation (It is said "a day unto God is as 1000 years). This measures from 4004 BC to 1997 AD. The first generation after this time, would be the first of the "son of man" (which carries on after "man").
Ezekiel begins his testament at the river "Chebar," which means "extent of time," and first discusses two time frames, one of 390 years (looking back) and the next as 40 (looking forward). The significance of this was noted most clearly in 1997, for there having then been 390 years since King James ordered the Bible released to the public in 1607, and the (then future) extent of this forty-year generation that follows, which is the first of this "new time" of the "son of man."
The middle of this period (think bell curve) just happens to be 1997, the very first year of the present administration, and the origin of Qanons.
But one other implication of the palm tree is most precious. There are many examples of a stick that represent power in scripture - Moses' rod, Joshua's spear, Goliath's weaver's beam, or the scepter of a king. The palm tree however, is far to large for any individual to wield. It is the largest and the most powerful. But those with the son of David, on Palm Sunday, all wield some of the crowning elements thereof.
