Some Sri Lankan lawmakers are calling for a nationwide burka ban, following the deadly Easter Sunday attacks.
One Sri Lankan lawmaker announced the bill on Facebook Tuesday, citing national security concerns.
In particular, lawmakers are worried about terrorists masking their identities by wearing burqas before carrying out attacks.
This comes after a series of terrorist attacks that were carried out on Easter, which killed over 300 people.
If the bill is passed into office, Sri Lanka would become the 14th country to institute a burqa ban.
