Lorem Ipsum is placeholder text used in typesetting since the 1500's and now in web page text layout.

The lorem ipsum text is typically a scrambled section of De finibus bonorum et malorum (On the ends of Good and Evil), a 1st-century BC Latin text by Cicero, with words altered, added, and removed to make it nonsensical, improper Latin. The placeholder text is taken from parts of the first book's discourse on hedonism, where Cicero discusses human responses to Pleasure and PAIN.

De finibus is the most extensive philosophical work of Cicero. It is dedicated to Marcus Junius Brutus, lead conspirator in the assassination of Julius Caesar.

On September 9, 2015, several Lorem Ipsum posts began appearing on websites whose content was generated by the WordPress web content management system. The text of these posts includes the words "mattis" and "phasellus". It has previously been proposed that "phasellus" represents "phase II U.S." (see related Q posts: phase I, phase [2], and phase III). Indeed, Mattis 'resigned' just prior to the end of Q's phase[2].

A picture associated with one of these posts is very reminiscent of the Obama presidential portrait. Google Images labels this picture "girl going to die" Each post has the same text, but different titles and photos.

These odd posts were noted and investigated by anons, but mostly that was before the Obama portrait, and before the possible Mattis / Phase [2] connection. This is beginning to smell like [future proves past].

For the record, use of the word "phasellus" in Lorem Ipsum text pre-dates these WordPress posts, likely by at least a few years. Beware Google date filtering; it relies on the webpage metadata, not the actual date the page appeared on the internet. Archive.org snapshots are a more credible source for dating. Dating of the WordPress posts has been tentatively confirmed by dating the emergence of the pictures on other sites via Archive.org. Strangely, I could not find a single snapshot of the WordPress posts on Archive.org, though the posts themselves remain on the internet at thousands of domains. It is possible that archive.org filters out Lorem Ipsum pages to save storage space. Other explanations occur to me, but it still seems a bit odd.

Also the date of origin of Lorem Ipsum itself is disputed. Some scholars believe it originated after 1914.
