GOP Rep. Justin Amash Calls for Impeachment of President Trump

 

Libertarian Republican Congressman Justin Amash of Michigan called for the impeachment of President Trump on Saturday, becoming the first GOP congressman or senator to do so. Amash also accused Attorney General William Barr of misleading the public about the findings of the Mueller report.

 

Last month Amash expressed his openness to running against President Trump in 2020 as the Libertarian Party candidate, Roll Call reported.

 

Amash made his case in a Twitter thread which is presented below without commentary.

 

Here are my principal conclusions:

  1. Attorney General Barr has deliberately misrepresented Muellerโ€™s report.

  2. President Trump has engaged in impeachable conduct.

  3. Partisanship has eroded our system of checks and balances.

  4. Few members of Congress have read the report.

 

I offer these conclusions only after having read Muellerโ€™s redacted report carefully and completely, having read or watched pertinent statements and testimony, and having discussed this matter with my staff, who thoroughly reviewed materials and provided me with further analysis.

 

In comparing Barrโ€™s principal conclusions, congressional testimony, and other statements to Muellerโ€™s report, it is clear that Barr intended to mislead the public about Special Counsel Robert Muellerโ€™s analysis and findings.

 

Barrโ€™s misrepresentations are significant but often subtle, frequently taking the form of sleight-of-hand qualifications or logical fallacies, which he hopes people will not notice.

 

Under our Constitution, the president โ€œshall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.โ€ While โ€œhigh Crimes and Misdemeanorsโ€ is not defined, the context implies conduct that violates the public trust.

 

Contrary to Barrโ€™s portrayal, Muellerโ€™s report reveals that President Trump engaged in specific actions and a pattern of behavior that meet the threshold for impeachment.

How the Obama White House engaged Ukraine to give Russia collusion narrative an early boost

As Donald Trump began his meteoric rise to the presidency, the Obama White House summoned Ukrainian authorities to Washington to coordinate ongoing anti-corruption efforts inside Russiaโ€™s most critical neighbor.

 

The January 2016 gathering, confirmed by multiple participants and contemporaneous memos, brought some of Ukraineโ€™s top corruption prosecutors and investigators face to face with members of former President Obamaโ€™s National Security Council (NSC), FBI, State Department and Department of Justice (DOJ).

 

The agenda suggested the purpose was training and coordination. But Ukrainian participants said it didnโ€™t take long โ€” during the meetings and afterward โ€” to realize the Americansโ€™ objectives included two politically hot investigations: one that touched Vice President Joe Bidenโ€™s family and one that involved a lobbying firm linked closely to then-candidate Trump.

 

U.S. officials โ€œkept talking about how important it was that all of our anti-corruption efforts be united,โ€ said Andrii Telizhenko, then a political officer in the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington tasked with organizing the meeting.

 

Telizhenko, who no longer works for the Ukrainian Embassy, said U.S. officials volunteered during the meetings โ€” one of which was held in the White Houseโ€™s Old Executive Office Building โ€” that they had an interest in reviving a closed investigation into payments to U.S. figures from Ukraineโ€™s Russia-backed Party of Regions.

 

That 2014 investigation was led by the FBI and focused heavily on GOP lobbyist Paul Manafort, whose firm long had been tied to Trump through his partner and Trump pal, Roger Stone.

 

Agents interviewed Manafort in 2014 about whether he received undeclared payments from the party of ousted Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, an ally of Russiaโ€™s Vladimir Putin, and whether he engaged in improper foreign lobbying.

 

The FBI shut down the case without charging Manafort.

 

Telizhenko said he couldnโ€™t remember whether Manafort was mentioned during the January 2016 meeting. But he and other attendees recalled DOJ officials asking investigators from Ukraineโ€™s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) if they could help locate new evidence about the Party of Regionsโ€™ payments and its dealings with Americans.

 

โ€œIt was definitely the case that led to the charges against Manafort and the leak to U.S. media during the 2016 election,โ€ he said.

 

That makes the January 2016 meeting one of the earliest documented efforts to build the now-debunked Trump-Russia collusion narrative and one of the first to involve the Obama administrationโ€™s intervention.

 

Spokespeople for the NSC, DOJ and FBI declined to comment. A representative for former Obama national security adviser Susan Rice did not return emails seeking comment.

 

Nazar Kholodnytskyy, Ukraineโ€™s chief anti-corruption prosecutor, told me he attended some but not all of the January 2016 Washington meetings and couldnโ€™t remember the specific cases, if any, that were discussed.

Instagram Hackers Forum Gets Hacked by Other Hackers

 

Hackers hacked the OGUSERS forum and published its database in another hacker forum, the administration announced on the forum itself on Tuesday.

 

OGUSERS, also known as OGU by its members, is a marketplace forum ostensibly launched to trade โ€œOGโ€ usernames, as in: unique, short, and rare usernames, and is also notoriously known to be a forum for hackers who specialize in breaking into other peopleโ€™s accounts, taking control of them, and then selling them with prices ranging up to $5,000. Members of the forum were also apparently involved in a technique called SIM swapping to hijack peopleโ€™s phone numbers.

 

โ€œIt appears someone was able to breach the server through a custom plugin in the forum software and get access to an old backup dating December 26, 2018,โ€ the administrator, who goes by Ace, wrote. โ€œI do understand everyone's frustration and I am deeply sorry this has all happened recently. You must realize other sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Dropbox, Forums you have used in the past, and many more have been breached at least once. People are targeting the site 365 days a year,โ€ the administrator added.

 

Another hacker, nicknamed Omnipotent, announced the hack in another forum called Raidforums. The hacked data includes OGUSERS usernames, passwords hashed with the MD5 algorithm, emails, IP addresses, source code, website data, and private messages.

 

โ€œIt's like a nuke dropped on the site,โ€ a OGUSERS member told Vice Motherboard. According to the member, people are quitting the site, worried that authorities have their data, or that others will now hack their accounts.

When the moon is full on Saturday, Earthโ€™s lunar companion becomes a โ€œblueโ€ moon โ€” in a floral, seasonal way.

 

Popular folklore holds that the second full moon in a given month is a blue moon, but this Saturdayโ€™s blue moon has another definition. It is the third of four full moons in a given season. In most seasons, there are just three full moons.

 

But this spring, there are four full moons between the vernal equinox on March 20 and the summer solstice on June 21. The third of the four full moons gets the blue designation โ€” as a kind of placeholder โ€” so named moons like the harvest moon, the snow moon and the wolf moon donโ€™t become out of sync with their usual companion month, said astronomer Geoff Chester of the U.S. Naval Observatory.

 

The seasonal blue moons occur every two to three years on average. The next one is set for Aug. 22, 2021.

 

Chester said this seasonal blue moon โ€” which is the original definition of a blue moon โ€” was first dreamed up by the Maine Farmerโ€™s Almanac in the early 20th century.

 

Thus, Mayโ€™s usual flower moon becomes a blue flower moon, if we conform to the farmersโ€™ almanacs.

 

โ€œThe blue moon is an interesting bit of scientific trivia for those that keep track of these kinds of things,โ€ Chester said. โ€œThere is nothing particularly special about it. Somewhere along the line youโ€™ve got to have an extra moon.โ€

Dating of the WordPress posts has been tentatively confirmed by dating the emergence of the pictures on other sites via Archive.org. Strangely, I could not find a single snapshot of the WordPress posts on Archive.org, though the posts themselves remain on the internet at thousands of domains. It is possible that archive.org filters out Lorem Ipsum pages to save storage space. Other explanations occur to me, but it still seems a bit odd.

Iraqi Parliament Poised to Evict US Troops

 

Talk of US attacking Iran has many Iraqi officials keen to get rid of them

 

Iraq has spent the better share of the last 16 years under US military occupation. Despite this, time and again US-Iraqi relations have come to be defined by US hostility toward neighboring Iran, and Iraqโ€™s desire to not get mixed up in that.

 

So while Iraqโ€™s parliament was already bristling under Pentagon talk of staying in Iraq, and Trump saying that the US was staying in Iraq to โ€œkeep an eye on Iran,โ€ the recent escalation of US rhetoric about a war against Iran has sparked action within parliament.

 

On Saturday, Iraq will be voting on a bill that would aim to expel all foreign troops from Iraqi soil, and singles out US troops in particular as needing to leave. The bill is endorsed by Iraqโ€™s top two Shiโ€™ite blocs, and is expected to pass fairly easily.

 

What happens then is the real question. Iraqโ€™s parliament is already being spun as โ€œpro-Iran factions,โ€ and itโ€™s been a long time since US officials, Pentagon or otherwise, gave any indication that they thought staying in Iraq was up to the Iraqi government.

 

So while the Iraqi Prime Minister is warning the US that they canโ€™t use Iraq to launch a war on Iran, the US is browbeating Iraq over its government-aligned Shiโ€™ite militias, and doing everything they can to try to portray that Shiโ€™ite-dominated Iraqi government as effectively in league with the Iranians, and subsequently a threat to US interests. No matter what happens, it seems certain US-Iraqi ties will suffer for it.

Tents Erected Outside Border Patrol Stations to Hold Overflow Migrants

 

MCALLEN, Texas โ€“ The record-setting waves of migrants flowing into the Rio Grande Valley Sector forced U.S. Border Patrol agents to build tents outside of their stations for temporary housing. Some migrants were also held in parking lots. The new measures come after a newly built tent facility nearby already reached its maximum capacity. According to information released by U.S. Border Patrol, agents in McAllen are currently holding an average of 8,000 migrants. The average number of apprehensions each day varies from 1,000 to 1,500 migrants in the Rio Grande Valley Sector. A series of photographs released by the agency revealed the crowding at the facilities as agents try to keep up with the growing number of migrants.

 

As a response to the growing number of migrants, agents erected four tent buildings. In the processing centers and tents, migrants receive new clothing, shoes, food, and medical care. The agency is reporting at least 20 visits a day to local hospitals to treat more serious issues. โ€œThe longer illegal aliens remain in custody, the harder it can become to sustain our operations but housing the migrants in these tents is the default solution,โ€ said Chief Patrol Agent Rodolfo Karisch. โ€œThis is the reality of what happens when we simply cannot handle the influx of migrants arriving. We are doing all we can to ensure a safe environment for all involved, but it is crystal clear that we have a real emergency on the border; this is not sustainable.โ€

 

As Breitbart News reported, the migrants that cross the river into the Rio Grande Valley Sector have to go through border cities controlled by the Gulf Cartel, the leading criminal organization in the area. According to federal authorities, the Gulf Cartel charges between $300 to $500 per Central American migrant to allow them to cross the Rio Grande into Texas. The fees collected by the Gulf Cartel are separate from the other parts of the journey that the migrants have paid to smugglers along the way that can amount to several thousand dollars.

 

The current migration trend along the border calls for migrants from Central America and countries other than Mexico to turn themselves in to Border Patrol agents in order to claim asylum or to be processed and released as they await an immigration hearing at a later date. Mexican migrants are sent back in an expedited fashion and pay the Gulf Cartel a bigger fee in order to avoid capture by federal authorities.

Economic sanctions are the first step of war, the end-step being a military invasion, but itโ€™s really dictating to other countries whom they can trade with, and whom not. Americaโ€™s economic sanctions are saying: Move aside, UN, WTO, etc.; weโ€™re taking over as the judge, jury, policeman and executioner, for the entire world. Move aside โ€” we do whatever we want, and weโ€™ll crush you, too, if you resist. American โ€˜democracyโ€™ is being spread by international dictatorship, and itโ€™s now bolder than ever.

 

One of the excuses that the US regime offers for these economic sanctions is that they are necessary in order to punish Venezuelaโ€™s government for Venezuelansโ€™ suffering from shortages of food, medicine, and other necessities, but the chief purpose of the sanctions โ€” an economic blockade, actually โ€” is precisely to engender such shortages. They are a vastly bigger success than many in the public recognize, and so other reasons for those shortages, etc., are instead cited by the US regime and its allies. In other words, itโ€™s an extremely effective operation to fool the public โ€” not only about how effective the sanctions are (which is very); but also about why these extraordinary conditions now exist in Venezuela, Iran, and other countries that the US regime (and its allies) sanction. In other words: the publics (at least in allied countries) are fooled to believe that the main source of the problems in those suffering countries is the government that the US regime is trying to overthrow, the victim nations themselves. The mind-control operation here is that the extreme problems in the sanctioned countries are to be blamed on those nationsโ€™ internal political situation, instead of on the US and its allied regimes โ€” their shared determination to overthrow and replace the targeted governments. The US regime thinks that the American people (and the publics in its allied regimes) will be too stupid to recognize the self-contradiction here (that it uses those sanctions in order to help, instead of to impoverish, the people in the targeted lands), and thus that they will blame only Venezuelaโ€™s government for the shortages, etc. But the undeniable fact is that by blocking trade between Venezuela and its trading-partners, Venezuela not only canโ€™t import, but canโ€™t export, and so gets economically strangled โ€” which is what is happening โ€” and thatโ€™s the success of the sanctions.

A Labour peer and former MP who campaigns for womenโ€™s rights has quit the party after he was suspended for sharing an โ€œunacceptableโ€ tweet branded โ€œtransphobicโ€ by activists. Is Abe Finklestein a real rabbi?

 

Absolutely not. I actually took the time to listen to part of that ridiculous interview with the so-called rabbi. Any Jew would spot it as a fake in seconds- it is clearly just some Klansman or other white supremacist who has spent some time practising how to fake a Yiddish accent. The accent is the first giveaway- it is clearly someone shamming a โ€œyeshivah Jewโ€ accent. Itโ€™s a good enough imitation to fool someone who doesnโ€™t know any better, but nowhere near good enough to fool someone who has spent any time around Yiddish speakers. The name โ€œAbe Finkelsteinโ€ also, does not work with someone who has an accent like this. If theyโ€™d called him Avrohom Finkelstein, maybe, but I donโ€™t buy โ€œAbeโ€. Abe sounds like a second or third-generation American at least and almost certainly modern orthodox or conservative- not Yeshivish or Chassidic. The next huge giveaway is the way the โ€œrabbiโ€ responds to the rather insulting, put down-y questions of the interviewer. General History

 

The Order of the Eastern Star is an adoptive rite of Freemasonry with teachings based on the Bible and objectives that are officially charitable and benevolent but in reality serving the evil purpose of the illuminati. The founder of OES was Dr. Robert Morris, a high degree Freemason, a lawyer and an educator from Boston, Massachusetts, who was a Master Mason and Past Grand Master of Kentucky. After his first published ritual in 1849-50, he became associated with Robert Macoy who wrote and published a ritual based on Morris' in 1867.

 

Order of the Eastern StarThe first Grand Chapter was organized in Michigan in the same year. (There is evidence for an organization of the same name founded variously in 1788 or 1793, but this group was defunct by 1867.) Subordinate (local) chapters operate under charter from state level grand chapters which are responsible to the General Grand Chapter at the International Eastern Star Temple in Washington, D.C.

 

Members must be eighteen years or older and either Master Masons in good standing or properly related to a Master Mason in good standing. The latter category includes wives; widows; sisters; daughters; mothers; granddaughters; step-mothers; step daughters; step-sisters; and half-sisters. In 1994 this was expanded to include nieces, daughters-in- law, and grandmothers.

 

Each chapter has eighteen officers, some elected and others appointed. Two offices are specifically male (Patron and Associate Patron) while nine offices are specifically female (including Matron and Associate Matron). While the Worthy Matron is considered to be the presiding officer of the chapter, the degrees cannot be conferred without a presiding brother in good standing (hence the Patron and Associate Patron).

 

Each chapter retains the right to decide who shall be a member of the organization. Election to the degrees must be unanimous, without debate, and secret. The successful candidate must profess a belief in a Supreme Being and is initiated in five degrees, which are conferred in one ceremony. (When Eastern Star was created, it was intended to be the first of a three degree series. The second and third degrees were Queen of the South and the Order of the Amaranth,

respectively.)

 

Interestingly enough, OES requires only the belief in a Supreme Being even though the degrees are based in both the Old and New Testaments. While non-Christians are not specifically barred from membership, it would seem to be difficult to be other than Christian and belong to the Order.

Libya Government Gets Arms Shipment as Tripoli Offensive Stalls

 

Libyan forces loyal to the internationally recognized government in Tripoli said theyโ€™ve received a shipment of weapons and armored vehicles after announcing that Turkey would help fend off an assault on the capital by strongman Khalifa Haftar.

 

Forces loyal to the Government of National Accord published pictures on their official โ€œVolcano of Angerโ€ Facebook page of what appeared to be Turkish-made Kirpi combat vehicles. They also received ammunition and โ€œquality weapons,โ€ the group said in the Facebook posting. A spokesman for the Turkish presidency in Ankara wasnโ€™t immediately available for comment.

 

The United Nations had warned of the conflict turning into a bloody proxy war as foreign backers of Haftar and the Tripoli government send arms shipments despite a UN weapons embargo on the North African OPEC state.

 

GNA spokesman Mohanad Younes had told reporters earlier in May that Turkey and other countries would be delivering military and humanitarian assistance.

Haftar is supported by Egypt and the United Arab Emirates. His forces have deployed precision guided Blue Arrow 7 missiles manufactured by China and known to have been sold to the United Arab Emirates, say experts who have examined the missilesโ€™ remnants.

 

At least 400 people have been killed in the offensive, which has ground to a halt at the outskirts of Tripoli.

 

The United Nations and European countries have called for a ceasefire but officials say neither side is prepared for a truce. Haftar met Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte on Thursday and is expected to meet French President Emmanuel Macron next week.

Two diplomats with knowledge of the matter said Haftar was planning to continue his offensive. The LNA, which took control of the east and the south before attacking Tripoli, had predicted a quick victory in the capital when it first launched its campaign in early April. Haftar wants at least a foothold in Tripoli before accepting a truce, one of the officials said.

A Toledo pastor was sentenced to life in prison for sex trafficking of a minor, while another Toledo pastor was sentenced to more than 17 years in prison for similar crimes, U.S. Attorney Justin E. Herdman and FBI Special Agent in Charge Eric B. Smith said.

 

Cordell Jenkins, 48, was sentenced to life in prison. Kenneth Butler, 39, was sentenced to 210 months in prison. They previously pleaded guilty to charges including conspiracy to sex traffic children, sex trafficking of children and related charges.

 

โ€œThese sentences for two men who abused their positions of authority to prey on children are richly deserved,โ€ Herdman said. โ€œI remain in awe of the courage of the victims and the dedication of our law enforcement personnel in bringing these men to justice.โ€

 

"Our children should not be bought, sold or traded,โ€ Smith said. โ€œThey should not be used for financial or personal gain. Jenkins repeatedly sexually exploited the minor at his home on Barrington Drive, at his office at Abundant Life Ministries and at a motel in Toledo. He paid her and referred to the payment as โ€œhush money.โ€ He often recorded these interactions with his cellular telephone, according to court documents.

 

Another pastor, Anthony Haynes, was convicted this year by a jury of conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking of a minor, sex trafficking, child exploitation and obstruction of a sex trafficking investigation following a trial. He is scheduled to be sentenced later this year.

YUBA CITY, Calif.โ€”A resident filed an injunction to prevent construction blasting using explosives near the Oroville Dam on March 22 at Butte County Superior Court, after becoming worried the public work could cause the collapse of the dam.The injunction was filed by plaintiff Paul Preston against defendant California Department of Water Resource (DWR).

 

Oroville Dam, which sits at 770 feet, is the tallest in the United States, 44 feet higher than the Hoover Dam. The collapse of the dam could potentially cause the loss of billions of dollars of property and tens of thousands of lives.

 

This is not the first time people have voiced concerns about the dam. In February 2017, Butte County Sheriff ordered an emergency evacuation of more than 100,000 residents, based on a near-disaster assessment of possible dam collapse caused by liquefaction.

 

The repair of Oroville Dam after last yearโ€™s near-disaster condition has reportedly cost more than $1 billion dollars.

 

This year, residents have been closely watching the dam and its spillways, and they have again found water seepages on the surface of the spillway pavement.

 

Preston, in the document for his injunction court filing, claimed that โ€œ2017 failure of Oroville Dam [was] not due to natural disaster.โ€

 

The document included a long list of reasons to support Prestonโ€™s claim, including the 2017 FEMA conclusion that โ€œDWR has not provided sufficient documentation to demonstrate that the Upper [spillway] Chute was damaged as a direct result of the [natural] disaster.โ€

 

After filing the injunction, Preston told The Epoch Times that many of his neighbors were very concerned about the damโ€™s safety.

 

Preston is a radio talk show host of Agenda 21 Radio onRed State Talk Radio and has been closely following news of the dam. After he received the notice from DWR on Fridayโ€™s scheduled explosive blast, he decided to take legal action against DWR in court.

 

The Epoch Times contacted the Oroville Dam Control Center Friday morning. Lisa Whitmore, the Public Affairs Office spokesperson, confirmed that there was a blast scheduled for Friday afternoon.

 

Whitmore said that the scheduled Friday blast was a normal operation as a part of the ongoing reconstruction of the two spillways. She said there are rocks and boulders near the spillway that need to be blasted apart so that the construction team can revegetate the hillside.

 

Whitmore also stated that the concrete slab on the spillway is seven and half feet in thickness, and the water seepage through the concrete joints are normal. She said the DWR sees no problems from the water seepage and the scheduled construction blasts.

 

Explosive Blasts Cancelled

The Epoch Times was later told by plaintiff Preston that after the injunction was filed Friday around noon, the scheduled blast did not happen.

 

Preston said that a court hearing was scheduled on Monday, March 25.

 

Lake Oroville, with the capacity of storing more than 3.5 million acre feet of water, is the second largest man-made lake in the state of California. The dam was built by the California DWR in the 60s.

 

In Oct. 2017, the DWR was given the tongue-in-cheek California Golden Fleece Award (CGFA) for its mismanagement of Oroville Dam with an alleged โ€œpatch and prayโ€ approach to dam safety.

 

The CGFA award is given out quarterly by The Independent Institute (TII) to California state or local agencies or government projects that swindle taxpayers or break the public trust. TII is a non-profit and non-partisan public policy research and educational organization based in Oakland, California.

 

California has been reportedly under heavy rain and snow in the spring of 2019. Watts Up With That (WUWT), which claims to be โ€œthe worldโ€™s most viewed site on global warming and climate change,โ€ reported on March 3 that California snowpack was 185% of normal.

 

This yearโ€™s heavy snowpack, with the ongoing repair of 2017โ€™s near-disaster condition on the dam, has brought many concerns to the residents living in the downstream areas of Oroville Dam.
