I was living in Tokyo at the time of the quake. Plenty of buildings collapsed in Tokyo – about 370km from the epicenter – including in my local area.

I traveled towns to the north of Fukushima in the months after the quake/tsunami/meltdown and saw plenty of buildings that had collapsed in the quake.
