This fits with something I posted about before, something I happened on digging around a number of years ago. It was someone describing a DuPont factory in Delaware where they were experimenting on the workers so that they would be able to produce things and then have their memories wiped somehow. That's all I remember, but the nightmarish conditions described in the linked post supports such an abusive behavior.
