Kamala Harris says Israel meets human rights standards ‘overall’ (days after its forces wound 92 Palestinian civilians at protest)

n an interview with the New York Times, Democratic presidential hopeful Kamala Harris said she believes Israel meets international human rights standards “overall.” The declaration comes less than a week after Israel wounded ninety-two Palestinian civilians during a weekly protest at the Gaza border, including twenty-eight children and four medics.

Harris made the comments about Israel during a New York Times feature, in which the paper asked a number of the candidates twenty-one questions. One of those questions was, “Do you think Israel meets international standards of human rights?”

Harris: I think that Israel as a country is dedicated to being a democracy, and is one of our closest friends in that region and that we should understand the shared values and priorities that we have as a democracy, and conduct foreign policy in a way that is consistent with understanding the alignment between the American people and the people of Israel.

New York Times: Does Israel meet human rights standards to your personal satisfaction?

Harris: Well, talk in more detail, what specifically are your referring to?

New York Times: As a country overall in terms of how they–

Harris: Overall, yes.

Among Democratic presidential hopefuls, Harris has charted one of the least-critical stances toward Israel, rarely criticizing the country and hewing close to the AIPAC line.

On June 14, Israeli forces wounded 92 Palestinian civilians, including twenty-eight children and four paramedics during a protest at the Gaza border. Palestinians have been protesting every Friday for the last sixty-one weeks, demanding displaced refugees be allowed to return their homeland. According to the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights, 207 Palestinian civilians have been killed and 12,707 have been wounded since the protests began last March. The deaths include 44 children, 4 paramedics, and 9 disabled people. On one day in May 2018, when the US opened its new embassy in Jerusalem, Israel killed over 60 protesters.

Ex-Interpol chief pleads guilty to corruption: China state media

Former Interpol chief Meng Hongwei has pleaded guilty to charges of accepting bribes, Chinese state media reported.

Meng - a Chinese citizen - has been under investigation since October 2018. He is accused of taking 14.5 million yuan ($2.1m) in unlawful payments between 2005 and 2017, using his status and positions, including as vice minister of public security and Marine Police Chief to accumulate the money.

He reportedly admitted his guilt during a court hearing on Thursday in the northern city of Tianjin in China, according to the People's Daily, an official newspaper of the Chinese Communist Party's Central Committee.

Interpol, the global police coordination agency based in France, said last October that Meng had resigned as president, days after his wife Grace Meng reported him missing after he travelled back to China.

He was later accused of accepting bribes and expelled from the Communist Party, with China's Public Security Ministry saying in March that Meng's "poisonous influence" had to be "thoroughly eliminated".

It was not clear who Meng's lawyer was and news agencies have been unable to reach them or any legal representative for comment.

Chinese courts are tightly-controlled by the Communist Party and Meng is almost certain to be found guilty, Reuters news agency said.

The court will announce its verdict at a "select date or time," a statement from the court said, without specifying further.

Fall from grace

Meng is among a growing group of Communist Party cadres caught in President Xi Jinping's anti-corruption campaign, which critics say has served as a way to remove the leader's political enemies.

More than one million officials have been punished so far during Xi's six-year tenure. He has vowed to target both "tigers" and "flies", a reference to elite officials and lower-level bureaucrats.

As vice security minister, Meng oversaw as number of sensitive portfolios, including the country's counterterrorism division, and he was in charge of the response to violence in China's fractious northwestern region of Xinjiang.

During his time as vice security minister, the public security bureau arrested and interrogated a number of prominent Chinese dissidents, including Nobel Peace Prize laureate Liu Xiaobo, who was arrested in 2008 and died of liver cancer in 2017 while still in custody.

Meng's appointment at Interpol raised eyebrows, with human rights groups concerned that Beijing would use the organisation to round up Chinese dissidents overseas. Meng had been expected to serve a four-year term, ending in 2020.

Grace Meng, who has been granted political asylum in France along with the couple's two children, has said the charges against him are politically motivated.

In interviews with French media, she has said she fears for her life and was afraid she and her children would be the targets of kidnapping attempts.

Jason Greenblatt, the Trump administration’s “peace process” envoy, met last week with Gilad Erdan, Israel’s minister of strategic affairs and public security who oversees Israel’s global operation to combat BDS – the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement for Palestinian rights.

Greenblatt took to Twitter to laud his “great meeting” with Erdan to discuss BDS, which he claimed is “anti-Semitic and hurts Israelis and Palestinians.” He also reaffirmed the “unshakable bond between our two countries.”

If Greenblatt and Erdan discussed coordinating efforts between Israel and the United States to counter BDS, then Greenblatt may be assisting a foreign government to violate a little known provision of the Arms Export Control Act (AECA).

According to this provision, if the president determines that a foreign country “engaged in a consistent pattern of acts of intimidation or harassment directed against individuals in the United States,” then “no letters of offer may be issued, no credits or guarantees may be extended, and no export licenses may be issued” for the export of US arms to that country.

The defense department, which oversees the implementation of the law along with the State Department, defines AECA as the “basic US law providing the authority and general rules for the conduct of foreign military sales and commercial sales of defense articles, defense services and training.”

As the elemental law governing foreign countries’ eligibility to purchase US weapons or receive them at US taxpayer expense, Israel’s violation of any aspect of this law could have enormous repercussions for bilateral relations and its ability to acquire a large portion of the weaponry that enables it to oppress the Palestinian people.

Previous advocacy efforts to hold Israel accountable for violating the AECA have largely centered on drawing attention to its impermissible usages of US weapons against Palestinian civilians.

The AECA strictly limits the usage of US weapons to “internal security,” “legitimate self-defense,” preventing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and participation in collective security arrangements.

However, despite the overwhelming evidence that Israel systematically misuses US weapons to commit gross human rights violations against Palestinians, the threat of sanctioning Israel for violating AECA has only been employed sporadically by the United States and only ever implemented by the Reagan administration in response to Israeli military actions in Lebanon and Iraq.

Vowing Not to 'Demonize' the Rich, Biden Tells Billionaires 'Nothing Would Fundamentally Change' If He Was Elected

It "might be the most honest thing he's said since he defended segregated schools."

Don't worry, billionaires: your standard of living won't change under a Joe Biden administration.

That's the message the Democratic frontrunner delivered to donors Tuesday as he continued a fundraising trip in New York that saw him on Monday tell a room of wealthy Wall Streeters "you guys are great" and ask a Trump-loving supermarket magnate for support.

In Biden's comments Tuesday, the former vice president told a room of 100 of the New York financial elite, including bankers Robert Rubin and Roger Altman, both of whom worked in the Treasury Department under Democratic administrations, that he wasn't their enemy. According to Bloomberg reporter Jennifer Epstein, Biden took pains to separate himself from the rest of the field in his comments.

"Remember, I got in trouble with some of the people on my team, on the Democratic side, because I said, you know, what I've found is rich people are just as patriotic as poor people," said Biden. "Not a joke. I mean, we may not want to demonize anybody who's made money."

But, said Biden, their taxes might have to be raised a little to achieve some of his legislative goals—though he assured the members of the 1 percent in attendance at the Upper East Side Carlyle Hotel that under his plan, the increase wouldn't even be noticeable.

"The truth of the matter is, you all, you all know, you all know in your gut what has to be done," said Biden. "We can disagree in the margins but the truth of the matter is it's all within our wheelhouse and nobody has to be punished."

"No one's standard of living will change," said Biden. "Nothing would fundamentally change."

A number of observers on Twitter seized on that message as emblematic of Biden's campaign strategy in general.

"Biden 2020: 'Nothing would fundamentally change,'" said financial reform advocate Alexis Goldstein.

Biden's phrasing "might be the most honest thing he's said since he defended segregated schools," writer Nathan Bernhardt tweeted.

Lawyer Matthew Cortland agreed.

"When someone tells you who they are," said Cortland, "believe them."

We obtained those followers through two primary means. First, our readers share our stories and other people see them — they sometimes like and follow our page. Second, we pay Facebook to advertise our page to get likes. We pay the company a lot of money. And Facebook has never turned us down.

It loves them some Western Journal money.

But while Facebook has been taking our money to let us advertise, it has been decreasing how many of those followers actually get to see our stories.

In fact, for every 100 people that follow our page, Facebook on average shows any given one of our stories to less than one.

That’s not a misprint. Despite the fact that Facebook willingly took The Western Journal’s advertising dollars, and despite the fact that more than 5 million people chose to follow our pages, Facebook only showed each story to less than 1 percent of our audience.

And that was before June 3.

A few days into June, we noticed that even more of our audience was being kept from seeing our stories. So, we dug into it and what we found was disturbing.

U.S. Claims Iran Shot Down Its UAV Over International Waters Says It Was RQ-4A Global Hawk

The U.S. military claimed that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Crops (IRGC) had shot down its unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in the international airspace.

“U.S. Central Command can confirm that a U.S. Navy Broad Area Maritime Surveillance (or BAMS-D) ISR aircraft was shot down by an Iranian surface-to-air missile system while operating in international airspace over the Strait of Hormuz at approximately 11:35 p.m. GMT on June 19, 2019.” U.S. Navy Capt. Bill Urban, a spokesman for the Central Command (CENTCOM), said in a statement released on June 20.

The CENTCOM called the Iranian action “an unprovoked attack on a U.S. surveillance asset,” denying that the UAV had violated Iran’s airspace.

The U.S. military identified the UAV in its statement as a BAMS-D, a variant of the RQ-4A Global Hawk High-Altitude, Long, Endurance (HALE) UAV. Earlier, U.S. officials told news agencies that the UAV as a MQ-4C Triton, a specialized version of the global Hawk developed for the U.S. Navy.

The RQ-4N BAMS-D was the experimental precursor to the MQ-4C, developed under the same Broad Area Maritime Surveillance program, which explains the confusion.

BAMS UAVs were designed to provide the U.S. Navy with real-time intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities over vast ocean and coastal regions.

The CENTCOM’s statement indicates that the U.S. is not willing to take the incident lightly. It’s unclear if Washington is planning to respond. Any such military action could lead to a serious conformation in the Persian Gulf.

Iran released a statement today saying they will not extend the deadline on salvaging the nuclear deal. European countries will have until July 8th to save the Obama-era deal and take concrete steps to shield Iran from U.S. sanctions or they will continue their program to enrich uranium.

I wrote last month in “Trump Pushes Back On War With Iraq But For How Long” whereby a White House insider had reported in April that “President Donald Trump and his advisors are planning an invasion of Iran and plan to use tactical nuclear strikes. The plan calls for Iran to be wiped off the map, and will cost U.S. taxpayers trillions of dollars”.

He also said, “the mainstream media will promote the war and Trump will go right along with it”.

Yesterday, the governmentslaves.news site reported that the White House insider who was quoted — David Goldberg (59 years old) — has since been found dead in his New York apartment on June 8th. His death is being investigated and no cause of death has yet been disclosed.

Mike Pompeo is moving ahead as though he knows Iran is guilty. Unfortunately, because of the lies of our government and the cooked Israeli intelligence that led to the disaster in Iraq, other countries including some U.S. allies are not so quick to accept this conclusion.

The Netherlands and Japan, the owners of the ships that were attacked, have both said that they don’t believe Iran was involved.

At the time of Goldberg’s death, he was said by friends to possess top-secret government documents. A friend of Goldberg said he felt the documents and the information he possessed could get him killed and he feared for his life!

The friend, who asked not to be identified, said that these documents referenced a meeting at the White House between Trump and two influential Jewish rabbis who told him they would deliver an election victory in 2020 if he played ball and helped them out with their agenda.

Goldberg intimated that these rabbis wielded considerable power and influence and, if word ever got out about the details outlined in the documents, it would not be good for Trump.

The friend said that copies of these documents were given to several trusted individuals for safekeeping in case something happened to him. They have retained an attorney on how best to proceed and said updates will follow.

An Invitation You Can’t Refuse: How Rep. Steny Hoyer Makes Sure AIPAC’s Israel Junket Is Well Attended

Mary Jo Kilroy was elected to Congress at the height of the financial crisis, in November 2008, to represent Columbus, Ohio, and the surrounding area. She landed a seat on the Financial Services Committee, where she had a chance to address the foreclosure crisis ripping through her state, as well as to push for tougher regulation of Wall Street.

As she learned to navigate Washington during her first term, one of the more unexpected pressures she faced was about a foreign trip. It wasn’t just any congressional sojourn, but rather a trip to Israel organized by House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and sponsored by the nonprofit arm of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, or AIPAC. “I would say that I was ‘strongly encouraged’ to take the Steny Hoyer AIPAC trip. ‘Everyone’ is going except you,” recalled Kilroy, who resisted the pressure, telling AIPAC that she didn’t want to go on a one-sided tour of the region.

AIPAC, which for years had strong support from both political parties, has seen its influence dip in the Democratic Party as its increasingly hard-line approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict pushes it in an ever more aggressive direction.

Even in 2009, when Kilroy was invited, AIPAC was known for its hard-edged politics. “I told them that I would like to visit Israel sometime, but that I wanted a more objective view of the complex issues, and more inclusive meetings with knowledgeable people in Israel and Palestine, not one just from the AIPAC point of view,” she said. Aside from Hoyer and AIPAC’s Washington representatives, she got visits and phone calls, she said, from AIPAC supporters in Columbus “who also conveyed their desire to have me go on this trip.”

Ultimately, she did take a congressional trip to Israel, but it was the first one organized by a rival pro-Israel group, J Street, which takes a more moderate approach to the region’s politics. They visited Ramallah, a city in the West Bank, a Palestinian territory occupied by Israel, she recalled, but Israel blocked the congressional delegation from entering the Gaza Strip, a Palestinian territory that has been under siege by Israel for more than a decade.

‘Iran made a very big mistake!’ – Trump tweet after US drone shot down

Amid disputes over the authenticity of reports that Iran shot down a US drone, US President Donald Trump tweeted early Thursday with a clear message: “Iran made a very big mistake!”

Washington claims that the surveillance drone was in international airspace at the time that it was brought down, while Tehran says it was spying on southern Iran.

An unnamed US official told Reuters that the debris field from the US military drone was located in the international waters area of the Strait of Hormuz. They also confirmed that US Navy vessels are en route to investigate.

If the remains of the drone are located outside Iranian territory, it could undermine Tehran’s account of the incident and mark a significant escalation in simmering tensions between the two states.

“US drone intrusion into Iranian airspace is in clear violation of the UN Charter and national sovereignty of the country,”Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh, said Thursday, while urging his government to file a formal complaint with the UN.

Falahatpisheh accused the US of breaching Chapter seven of the UN Charter and that its drone operations constituted a hostile move against the national security and sovereignty of Iran.

Charles and David Koch are two of the richest men in the world. Each is worth tens of billions of dollars. Some of their money is inherited. Much they made themselves. But the Kochs have never been content merely to get richer. They're engaged intellectuals, with a sincere desire to change the world. For years, the brothers have been the single most important funders of Republican politics in Washington.

The Koch network of donors spends hundreds of millions of dollars every election cycle. Virtually every major conservative non-profit in DC takes Koch money. Koch organizations train political organizers and candidates. Many Republican lawmakers owe their careers to the Kochs. For people whose main business is making fertilizer and paper towels, the Kochs have been remarkably effective in politics. Not surprisingly, the left hates them for it. Both the Koch brothers and their families, who by the way are very nice people, have been repeatedly and grotesquely maligned by the media. This, in turn, has convinced many conservatives that the Kochs much be on their side. Anyone who's been slandered by the New York Times has got to be doing something right. That's the idea. It's not a bad standard.

But in the case of the Kochs, conservatives might want to pause and rethink the relationship. As it turns out, the Kochs don't have much in common with conservatives. DOJ Release: EDNY Gives Thanks to DO-Nothing NDNY [Thanks for Nothing]

Readers might enjoy the press release for the Department of Justice, US Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of New York [EDNY] announcing the conviction of Keith Alan Raniere.

It provides an insight into how they take credit for their victories. It is in large part a “thank you to one and all” – and I find it interesting that within their “one and all” they included the US Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York [NDNY].

As many readers know, the NDNY achieved considerable infamy for not prosecuting Raniere – for decades – despite their fielding the first and many subsequent, legitimate complaints about him and his deadly Nxivm criminal group.

Of course, in the last 24 hours, there’s been a great deal of applause and hearty commendations heaped upon the EDNY, and deservedly so. In retrospect, it was just about the prettiest little trial anyone ever saw in the conviction of such an ugly monster.

But, really, to thank the NDNY for their help? Isn’t that taking professional courtesy a bit too far?

The NDNY should have been the ones who convicted Raniere and thanked the EDNY. They muffed it. Muffed it for years. The NDNY qualifies for “buffoon law enforcement agency of the ages.”

It was they who were first given evidence of NXIVM’s criminal activities – and lots of it. It was the NDNY that kept ignoring the pleas of women brutalized by Raniere, who kept turning a deaf ear to them. It was the NDNY that permitted [when they could have done something] the terror and the torment [not to mention the branding and blackmailing] of a hundred victims – right in their home turf.

And now they get thanks from the EDNY – who – from outside the area where Raniere committed most of his crimes – went in and did their job for them.

The thank you to the NDNY – it’s pure, classic, stinging irony.

Perhaps, the real meaning of the thanks, the shout-out they got from the EDNY, should be gleaned from between the lines: What brought splendor and honor to the EDNY and Assistant US Attorneys Moira Kim Penza, Tanya Hajjar and Mark J. Lesko, and their boss, Trump appointee Richard P. Donoghue, is the fact that they went after the monster and took him down.

While the NDNY did nothing.

Had the NDNY done their job, then the EDNY would not have had their moment in the sun – their historic, complete, colossal, efficient, brilliant, innovative, precedent-setting take-down of a dangerous, sex-trafficking, racketeering cult backed by the Bronfman liquor fortune.

No, if it weren’t for the NDNY’s buffoonery – the EDNY would not have had a chance to accomplish this glorious work. So let me add my thanks to theirs.

There was a time, when the Patriarchate of Constantinople was in its prime… but today, it’s former glory has passed into pale memory, and this schismatic crime which it has championed in Ukraine, has become among the greatest issues for Orthodoxy in the twenty-first century.

Since the Ecumenical Patriarchate anti-canonically invaded the territory of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church—an autonomous and native part of the Russian Church, many have asked:

Is this the rise of some peculiar form of “Eastern Papism”, or is the Ecumenical Patriarchate not truly sovereign in its actions, but under the influence of foreign political powers, including the United States?

This article is not written to examine the spiritual or canonical issues of Constantinople’s errors, as this has already been done by experts across the Orthodox world.

This article is put forth to demonstrate the political captivity of the Ecumenical Patriarchate to foreign powers throughout history, especially the United States. We will examine how Constantinople may have been blackmailed into causing this crisis to cover up a multi-million-dollar embezzlement scandal in their GOARCH—the main source of their funding and their economic lifeline.

We will in particular examine a very shocking article from a pro-Ecumenical Patriarchate source, which declares, among many things:

“President Truman often emphasized the pro-American convictions of Patriarch Athenagoras and the importance and influence of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, along with the Greek Orthodox community in the US, as vital to American foreign policy objectives.”1

How did we get here?

Those who feel Christianity or religion is the source of war need only look to the twentieth century, when the worst atrocities in human history were committed by brutal, godless powers.

Pseudo-religion was only used as a tool for the political goals, and as we have seen in Modern Ukraine, among some schismatics, with their Nazi murals, sometimes their politics becomes their religion.

After the demonic assassination of the Holy Romanov family; there was a war launched against Holy Rus’, and the Russian Church began her podvig of Confession, among the largest in history. The Metropolitan of Kiev and Galicia was taken outside Kiev Caves Lavra and shot, Patriarch Tikhon of Moscow was imprisoned, countless millions suffered in the civil war…and where was Constantinople?

Constantinople was actively supporting the Bolsheviks…

The Renovationist Schism

A little-known fact by many, is that while Saint Tikhon Patriarch of Moscow was in jail, and the Church in Russia brutally persecuted, the Bolsheviks created a schismatic church.

Constantinople actually recognized this schism as legitimate, calling for Saint Tikhon to resign, slandering him, while his canonical Church was persecuted, and believers were even executed for refusing to support the “Renovationist Church”.

That situation strongly resembles this one with modern Ukrainian schismatics, complete with Phanar support.

Today, Saint Tikhon is commemorated universally as a Saint, who is very popular in America as well, having consecrated Saint Raphael of Brooklyn—a Syrian who considered himself as having a “Russian soul”—as the first hierarch on American soil.

Saint Tikhon is a Saint… and the renovationists… Where are they? They passed like the previous schismatics into ill memory, there is nothing left of them.

So, this leaves us with a question. Why would Constantinople do this, and why are they again supporting schismatics in Ukraine? The answer may be more politically based than people realize.

Interwar Chaos and the Population Exchange

WW1 ended not only the Austro-Hungarian and Russian Empires, but also the Ottoman Empire. A great population exchange took place between the newly formed secular Turkish republic, and Greece, and as a result of which, the Ecumenical Patriarchate lost almost his entire flock.5

Turkey no longer ruled a multi-ethnic Empire, in which the Ecumenical Patriarch could be used as a figure to unite the Christian subjects around; Turkey was now interested only in Turkish nation-building.

Truman was so invested in putting an American on the throne, he not only sent Athenagoras with his “blessing”, but he literally sent him to Istanbul on his own presidential plane, “The Sacred Cow”12. Dr. Kyrou says that this was not simply a gesture of respect, but what he called “a measured action” by a President who “viewed Athenagoras and the Patriarchate as influential and crucial partners in the furtherance of US international interests”.

Dr. Kyrou’s article even asserts the election of Athenagoras as Ecumenical Patriarch not only had the support of Truman, but according to new evidence, the “possible involvement, of the Truman administration”.13 Other articles note the influence and meddling of the US in the affairs of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, including the election of Athenagoras.14

Kyrou’s article directly admits that this meant Truman saw the Ecumenical Patriarchate as a valuable asset in direct conflict with the Russian Church for the political benefit of the West. The article reads:

“[Truman] … deliberately emphasized the ecumenical status of the Patriarchate of Constantinople—as the first Patriarchal See among equals, enjoying spiritual aegis over all Orthodox Churches—as a means to foil Moscow’s politically-driven efforts to project the Church of Russia as a global rival to Constantinople…”

The Western powers were apparently concerned that Russia could exert influence on the Middle East, including Turkey, via the Orthodox populations therein. Historically, the West saw the Ottoman Empire as a check against Russia.

Take the Crimean War in the nineteenth century, when France and England were concerned that Russia would overcome the Ottomans who were torturing Orthodox Christians for centuries, and the Middle East would revive under Russian protection.

So what did the West do? They supported the Ottoman Empire in a war on Russian soil, killing Christian Russians in support of a Muslim Empire. Once again, the West sees Islamic Istanbul as a check against Christian Russia.

Athenagoras went on to meet with the pope and lift the Anathemas against him, and it seems from this time onward, the Ecumenical Patriarchate would remain firmly tied not only to the US Diaspora and Government, but to pro-Vatican ecumenism.

Conclusion: Constantinople has become a tool for Western politics

A simple historical picture becomes obvious:

Constantinople was a city of great Patriarchs, but also of great heretics like Nestor himself.

Shortly before the fall of Constantinople, they almost entered into union with Rome.

After the fall in 1453, the Patriarchate was completely at the mercy of the Turks.

After WW1, Constantinople lost almost all of its flock; at this time it caused the calendar conflict and supported the Bolshevik renovationist schism. A liberal trend emerged in the twentieth century.

In the 1950s, Athenagoras, a strong ally of US President Truman becomes Patriarch. Athenagoras becomes the first Patriarch to meet with the Pope. Athenagoras leads the Ecumenical Patriarchate to play a major role in promoting U.S. Foreign policy in Orthodox countries and against Moscow.

In 1971, Halki Seminary was closed; the future of the Patriarchate is called into question.

By 2018, The Patriarch of Constantinople has met and prayed with the Pope numerous times, and broke tradition allowing Priests to be remarried. The Patriarchate is at its weakest and smallest state yet.

In July of 2018, the US Government allegedly pressured the Patriarchate via their primary source of funding in relation to the GOARCH scandal.

In September of 2018, Constantinople invades the canonical territory of the UOC and the Moscow Patriarchate.

Note the trend: the closer Constantinople grew to foreign political powers, for example, the Ottoman Empire or the USA, the farther their practice came from Orthodoxy. The more Constantinople weakened throughout history, the more it strongly tilted to Western influence.

Constantinople has become a tool for Western powers, which most likely started this mess in Ukraine at their behest. One must only look at the illogical way this autocephaly movement was planned. Patriarch Bartholomew is not an unintelligent man; even if he is blinded by papal delusions, he had to know this would not work.

Already, so far, not a single Local Church has supported Constantinople or the schismatics, many churches and hierarchs have spoken out against Constantinople’s actions. One of the most famous English-speaking Bishops, the most esteemed Metropolitan Kallistos (Ware), a bishop of the Ecumenical Patriarchate himself, said:

“With all due respect to my Patriarch, I am bound to say that I agree with the view expressed by the Patriarchate of Moscow that Ukraine belongs to the Russian Church.”

Constantinople a few months before supports the canonical church, and then makes a total 180 turnaround, begins propagating papal grandeur, invading the canonical territory of the largest Orthodox Patriarchate in the world, and declaring they can grant and revoke autocephaly.

This was all as if planned by people who don’t understand how the Orthodox Church even works, or what is within the Ecumenical Patriarchs powers, but simply wish to create problems for Orthodoxy and Russia specifically…

It seems while being occupied and at the mercy of foreign political powers, it’s impossible for Constantinople to make rulings for the good of the rest of the Orthodox world. While Orthodoxy will not have any supreme papal figure—only Christ is the head of the Church—if there is going to be a first among equals—perhaps he should dwell in an Orthodox power strong enough to preserve its own sovereignty.

Skyrocketing Cocaine Production Could See President Trump Cut Aid To Colombia

President Trump has effectively threatened to cut off loans and other forms of aid to Colombia if it can’t restrain cocaine production, according to Bloomberg. Combat Medic Testifies That He, Not Navy SEAL Eddie Gallagher, Killed ISIS Prisoner

US Navy prosecutors accused decorated US Navy SEAL Eddie Gallagher of premeditated murder over the stabbing of an injured 15-year-old ISIS terrorist in Mosul, Iraq in May of 2017.

Even worse, Gallagher was arrested on ‘Patriot’s Day,’ September 11th, 2018 — he was shackled and thrown into solitary confinement while remaining shackled for 72 hours, and he’s being held at Miramar Brig in San Diego, California.

The SEAL was also charged with aggravated assault for allegedly shooting Iraqi civilians.

Eddie Gallagher has served 19 years in the US Navy, 8 tours, 6 of which as an elite special forces operator — he was ranked as the top SEAL chief and his platoon ranked as the top SEAL platoon.

Gallagher has denied the charges and the entire case was turned upside down Thursday when a combat medic testified that he, not Eddie Gallagher killed the ISIS fighter.

Special Operator 1st Class Corey Scott, a SEAL Team Seven medic, testified Thursday to shocked trial observers in a Naval Base courtroom in San Diego, California that he killed the ISIS fighter by asphyxiation.

“Did Chief Gallagher kill this terrorist?” Gallagher’s attorney Timothy Parlatore then asked Scott.

“No,” he replied.

Scott is a prosecution witness who has been granted immunity for his testimony.

“Why did you kill him?” Parlatore asked Scott during one point of the cross-examination.

“Because I knew he was going to die anyway,” Scott answered. “I wanted to save him from what was going to happen next to him.”

Scott also told the defense counsel that during his time serving overseas, he had witnessed the Iraqi Emergency Response Division “torture, rape and murder prisoners.”

“Is this why you asphyxiated him?” Parlatore asked. “Yes,” Scott replied.

Researchers find link between World Trade Center dust and prostate cancer

World Trade Center (WTC) responders with prostate cancer showed signs that exposure to dust from the World Trade Center site had activated chronic inflammation in their prostates, which may have contributed to their cancer, according to a study by Mount Sinai researchers in Molecular Cancer Research in June.

Inflammation has long been considered an important factor in prostate cancer progression. Researchers looked at the inflammatory and immune systems of World Trade Center responders to help prevent new prostate cancer cases in that group and to understand how other large-scale environmental exposures to multiple carcinogens may develop into cancer.

This is the first study of people who were exposed to the WTC dust and who subsequently developed prostate cancer. This research and further study of the expression of genes and pathways in other patients whose environmental exposures caused inflammation could lead to clinical trials that offer anti-inflammatory or immune-targeted therapies in similar cases.

“World Trade Center responders show an overall increase in cancer incidence, and specifically of certain cancer types such as prostate cancer,” said Emanuela Taioli, MD, PhD, Director of the Institute for Translational Epidemiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Associate Director for Population Science at The Tisch Cancer Institute. “It is important to address the reasons why this is happening in order to prevent new cases in this aging cohort. Our findings represent the first link between exposure to World Trade Center dust and prostate cancer.”

This work pairs data from first responders and from a study of rats exposed to actual dust from Ground Zero. The dust samples, which contain metals and organic compounds such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and polychlorinated biphenyl, are unique because they are the only existing samples taken on September 11, 2001. All other dust samples were collected after a significant storm on September 14, 2001.

Both the human and rat prostate cancer tissues show an increase in cells that indicate inflammation, specifically immune cells called T helper cells. Studies of the rat tissue and prostate cancer tissue samples taken from responders indicated to the Mount Sinai researchers that chronic inflammation started occurring in the prostate after exposure to the World Trade Center dust, and that inflammation may have contributed to prostate cancer.

“Several years ago, I saw a first responder in his 40s who began having symptoms of prostatitis, a painful condition that involves inflammation of the prostate, soon after exposure to the World Trade Center dust,” said William Oh, MD, Chief of the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Deputy Director at The Tisch Cancer Institute. “He ultimately developed a high-grade prostate cancer several years later. It suggested to me that there might be a link between his exposure and cancer, but I knew that I would need to examine it systematically.”
