State Department Releases Detailed Accounts Of Biden-Ukraine Corruption

A liberal watchdog group's attempt to nail Rudy Giuliani has backfired in spectacular fashion after their FOIA request resulted in the US State Department releasing detailed accusations of corruption against the Bidens - based on interviews with former Ukrainian officials who were in charge of the investigations.

Responding to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit from the group American Oversight, the State Department on Friday night released almost 100 pages of records detailing efforts by Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani to investigate corruption, which include contacts with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) earlier this year.

While American Oversight's 'gotcha' is that Giuliani had "multiple contacts" with Mike Pompeo and others while investigating Ukraine corruption, they completely ignore interview notes containing detailed allegations by former Ukraine Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin - who Joe Biden had fired, as well as his successor, prosecutor general Yuriy Lutsenko - who "believes Mr. Viktor Shokin the former Prosecutor General is honest."

Viktor Shokin:

On a January 23, 2019 phone call between Shokin and Giuliani, Igor Fruman, Lev Parnas and George Boyle, Shokin said:

"He was appointed to the position of General Prosecutor of Ukraine from 2015 until April of 2016, when he was removed at the request of Mr. Joseph Biden the Vice President of the United States."

"He [Shokin] became involved in a case against Mr. Mykola Zlochevsky the former Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine. The case was opened as a result of Mr. Zlochevsky giving himself/company permits to drill for gas and oil in Ukraine. Mr. Zlochevsky is also the owner of Burisma Holdings."

"Mr. Shokin stated that there are documents that list five (5) criminal cases in which Mr. Zlochevesky is listed, with the main case being for issuing illegal gas exploration permits. The following complaints are in the criminal case.

Mr. Zlochevsky was laundering money

Obtained assets by corrupt acts bribery

Mr. Zlochevsky removed approximately twenty three million US dollars out of Ukraine without permission

While seated as the Minister he approved two addition entities to receive permits for gas exploration

Mr. Zlochevsky was the owner of two secret companies that were part of Burisma Holdings and gave those companies permits which made it possible for him to profit while he was the sitting Minister.

OPCW report on Douma chemical incident omitted & misrepresented key facts, leaked email by dissenting inspector shows

An internal OPCW email indicates that the chemical weapons watchdog’s leadership doctored a report on the 2018 Douma incident to bring it in line with West-favored claim that it was an attack by the Syrian government.

A newly published internal email seriously undermines the justification for the show of force conducted by the US, Britain and France in response to the alleged attack. The three NATO allies unleashed barrages of cruise missiles at targets in Syria, which they claimed to be involved in producing chemical weapons.

In April 2018, a chemical weapons attack was reported in Douma, Syria, with dozens of civilians allegedly killed. The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) sent a fact-finding mission to the site, although the inspection was stalled by fighting between radical jihadists, who controlled Douma at the time of the incident, and the Syrian government forces. Nevertheless, evidence was eventually collected and the OPCW produced a report that all but pinned the blame for the attack on Damascus.

An internal email sent by one of the inspectors in that team indicates that the management of the organization seriously modified the document, totally omitting facts that didn’t fit the anti-Damascus narrative and misreporting others to fit it. The email was released by whistleblower site WikiLeaks and covered by several leading European publications, including La Repubblica in Italy, Stundin in Iceland, Der Spiegel in Germany, and the Mail on Sunday in the UK.

The email sent by the inspector, whose name was redacted, outlines several instances, in which facts discovered by the team had been distorted or suppressed in a draft OPCW report, resulting in “an unintended bias” of the resulting text.

One objection related to saying that the team discovered sufficient evidence that chlorine gas was likely released from two cylinders found at two locations in Douma. The actual evidence pointed to the presence of one or several chlorine-containing chemicals. It might have been the gas, but it could as well be something other like chlorine-based bleach.

Another complaint was about overstating the levels of chlorinated organic derivatives found in the environment. “They were, in most cases, present only in parts per billion range, as low as 1-2 ppb, which is essentially trace quantities,” the email states.

The compounds in question are a tell-tale sign of reactive chlorine that can be found long after the toxic chemical itself has dissipated, which was relevant in this case because the fact-finding mission reached Douma weeks after the incident.

Trump Officials Meet With 'Strongman' Haftar's Political Team In Major Libya Shift

Starting last April President Trump caught many in his own administration off guard when he unexpectedly thanked renegade General Khalifa Haftar for "securing Libya's oil resources" at a moment the rebel leader assaulted the UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA) in Tripoli.

The public praise and phone call between Trump and the former CIA-backed warlord was a shock at the time given the US has maintained a policy of only recognizing the GNA in line with UN allies.

But now that continued recognition appears to be shifting fast after this week Trump admin officials held multiple meetings with an official representing Haftar's political team named Aref al-Nayed, expected to hold a top leadership position once Tripoli is 'liberated' by Haftar's Libyan National Army (LNA).

Revelation of the high level meetings has renewed speculation and confusion over the future of Washington policy in Libya, and if its priorities will shift to more open support of Haftar's LNA, responsible for a renewed grinding civil war of the past two years which by this past summer had killed at least 1,000.

In two meetings with National Security Council officials in Washington this fall, Aref al Nayed, an Islamic scholar and former ambassador to the UAE, has pitched himself as a transitional political leader for Libya after Hifter, the military commander, “liberates” Tripoli, according to documents provided by Nayed and multiple sources with knowledge of the meetings.

Nayed, who has previously announced that he is running for president of Libya, fiercely condemns the UN-backed GNA and portrays himself as a consensus choice who will be able to bring together Libya’s tribal factions under a so-called “National Unity Government.” NSC officials were “noncommittal” to Nayed’s proposal, according to a former senior U.S. official familiar with the meetings.

Despite the NSC saying's it remains "noncommittal" it's highly unusual for such a meeting to take place, tantamount to meeting with a rebel "opposition" group at a moment it's trying to topple a US-recognized government.

K-pop star Goo Hara has been found dead, just a little over a month after another popular South Korean singer ended her life by suicide, sparking debates about cyberbullying and hateful comments online.

Goo Hara, an ex-member of girl group Kara, was found dead in her home in Seoul around 6pm local time on Sunday, police said. They did not reveal any more details, saying that an investigation into the cause of the 28-year-old’s death is underway.

The singer had been hospitalized in May following an apparent suicide attempt, when she was discovered unconscious in her home by her manager. Before that she posted a cryptic message on her Instagram, containing only the word “Goodbye.” She later recovered, released a new single and did a short tour earlier this month.

Sundays’ news comes after another K-pop star, Sulli, 25, committed suicide in her Seoul apartment on October 14. Her death was linked to depression and to harassment she had received online.

Sulli spoke out about being a victim of cyberbullying and was a co-host of the show ‘The Night of Hate Comments,’ in which various South Korean celebrities discussed how they tackled online abuse. Sulli’s death prompted renewed discussion on the effects of cyberbullying in South Korea and calls for action against anonymous hateful comments on the internet.

Farage Says UK Needs ‘Political Reform’ to Drain the Westminster ‘Swamp’

Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage has suggested that his party may be one day be rebranded the “Reform Party”, saying his colleagues and the British people want an overhaul of the British political system.

Ditching the term “manifesto” over associations with political promises rarely kept, Mr Farage unveiled The Brexit Party’s “contract with the British people” on Friday. He said that his party wants “a voting system that is more representative of people’s views” and vows to “abolish the House of Lords”.

Speaking to the Express, Mr Farage said that “the way the whole peerage and honours system has been used” is “ludicrous”.

“The whole thing is corrupt,” he added.

“[Voters] hate the House of Lords. This is going to be a big issue in the next few years.”

Mr Farage has previously said that Conservatives have offered him and his Brexit Party colleagues peerages on more than one occasion in exchange for standing down against the Tories.

As well as pledging to abolish the House of Lords, the MEP said during his contract launch that under Brexit Party rules, members of the “highly politicised” Civil Service would have to sign a “pledge of political neutrality”. Further, “political guidelines” would be devised for the Supreme Court.

The UK’s highest court came under criticism in September for siding with anti-Brexit parties and campaigners in ruling Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s suspending of parliament unlawful and ordering MPs back to the House of Commons.

Over 800 Migrants Set Sail for Italy in One Week as Numbers Rise

In the past week, around 800 migrants have attempted to reach Italy from North Africa as migrant transport NGO activity has resumed the flow of migrants in the Mediterranean.

The NGO ships account for facilitating 367 of the 800, many of whom were intercepted by coastguards. The France-based NGO Sos Mediterranée and its ship the Ocean Viking currently has 215 migrants aboard her, Il Giornale reports.

Another NGO, the Spanish-based Open Arms, also picked up 73 migrants from the Libyan coast this week, along with the Aita Mari which retrieved 79 migrants.

Tunisia has also become a hotspot for migrants to head for Europe. The coastguard on the island of Djerba collected 43 migrants who were on board a boat around 10 miles from the island. The vessel began its voyage from the commune of Houmet Essouk, but authorities quickly identified and intercepted it.

The Tunisian authorities noted that none of the migrants on the boat were actually from Tunisia. Over half of the migrants came from Ethiopia, and the rest originated from Eritrea and Somalia.

Following the exit of anti-mass migration former Interior Minister Matteo Salvini and the League from the government in Italy, activity in the Mediterranean has dramatically increased.

No more than a month after the departure of Salvini, whose closed port policy drastically reduced the number of new arrivals and the number of drownings, ten NGO vessels are now operating in the Mediterranean Sea in the Search and Rescue (SAR) zone off the Libyan coast.

The main driver of the change in policy has been the leftist Democratic Party (PD) led by Nicola Zingaretti who made it clear he would reverse the anti-mass migration policies of Salvini.

Italy is not the only country to see a renewal of migrant numbers. Greece is also facing a new wave of migrants as Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has repeatedly threatened to allow millions of migrants into Europe.

Chinese spy Wang Liqiang alleges Beijing ordered overseas murders, including in Australia

A man claiming to have worked as a secret Chinese operative for five years says Beijing has directed overseas assassinations, including on Australian soil.

Government sources have confirmed to the ABC Wang "William" Liqiang has detailed the sensational allegations as he seeks political asylum.

Nine Newspapers have reported Mr Wang is in hiding in Sydney after recently providing a sworn statement to Australia's domestic spy agency ASIO outlining Beijing's covert operations.

One senior official, speaking to the ABC on the condition of anonymity, said the challenge for security agencies was to now "separate fact from fiction" while assessing Mr Wang's disclosures.

In the statement Mr Wang provided ASIO last month, he reportedly states: "I have been personally involved and participated in a series of espionage activities".

According to Nine Newspapers, Mr Wang has provided new details about the kidnapping of five booksellers who specialised in works critical of Chinese leaders based in Hong Kong, starting in 2015, and their rendition to mainland China.

He is also reported to have said spies from Beijing were infiltrating Hong Kong's pro-democracy movement, influencing Taiwan's elections and "operating with impunity in Australia", according to The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age.

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg said it was a "sensitive matter" being followed up by the relevant authorities.

"These are very disturbing reports and the matter is now in the hands of the appropriate law enforcement agencies so I wouldn't comment on the particulars of individual cases," he said.

"The Government makes no apologies for the measures we have taken to ensure that we have foreign interference laws in place."

According to the reports, Mr Wang is seeking political asylum and remains in an undisclosed location in Sydney on a tourist visa.

Mr Wang told Nine Newspapers the Chinese Communist Party "infiltrates all countries in areas such as military, business and culture, in order to achieve its goal".

He continued: "You shouldn't underestimate our organisation … we were cultivated and trained by the organisation for many years before taking up important positions.

"[The Chinese Communist Party] wants to ensure no-one threatens its authority."

In a clip from 60 Minutes posted to social media on Saturday, Mr Wang said, through a translator, that he was "responsible for organising the cyber army to attack people online".

"Imagine the consequence of betraying the organisation."

When asked why he had decided to seek political asylum in Australia and detail his involvement in such covert operations, he said: "I know very well that the Chinese Communist Party can never be trusted. Once I go back, I will be dead."

Westpac's cloak of invisibility has not just bankrolled paedophiles, but appears to support a massive tax dodge too

The sheer awfulness of the revelation Westpac appears to have facilitated the Filipino child-sex industry certainly grabbed the headlines in the coverage of AUSTRAC's extraordinarily damaging statement of claim dropped in the Federal Court.

And rightly so.

Westpac had been warned years before and did nothing. Its social licence to operate as Australia's second-biggest bank seemingly treated a bit like an unwanted ATM receipt — screwed up, tossed away and forgotten.

The Prime Minister and Attorney-General were aghast. So were 25 million Australians.

While horrifying in its own right, it masks the bottom line that Westpac remains utterly clueless about the suspect $11 billion of largely cross-border funds transfers the financial intelligence agency has tallied up.

The details of the suspected paedophile payments are found towards the back of AUSTRAC's 48-page statement of claim.

There are several instances cited, generally in the order of tens of thousands of dollars, not millions, or even hundreds of millions for that matter.

In another context, and putting aside the incalculable human toll of the activity, the focus seemed to be on speedboats carrying out small wads of dirty money, ignoring the massive vessels, loaded with containers of concealed loot, steaming out of Australia's tax jurisdiction.

"That's what this case is all about — it's the facilitation of massive, high-level, cross-border tax evasion," says Nathan Lynch, Thomson Reuters' Asia-Pacific bureau chief, financial crime and risk.

"Westpac established a cloak of invisibility for cross-border payments — tax authorities, financial regulators and agencies couldn't see anything.

"It's this aspect of the case that makes it such a landmark case for AUSTRAC to take on — and a case that will send shockwaves around the globe," Mr Lynch said.

Did Westpac pull a SWIFTy?

To understand why this was unlikely to be just sloppiness on an industrial scale you have to dig into the arcane world of data reporting of fund transfers between financial institutions.

The global standard is the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) messaging standard for so-called cover payments: the MT202 COV.

The SWIFT platform was established in 2009 as part of a global crackdown on money laundering, and is used in most of the world's high-value cross border payments.

Report: Navy Secretary Sides with Admiral, Despite Trump Tweet, on Gallagher Review

U.S. Navy Secretary Richard Spencer said on Friday that SEAL Chief Eddie Gallagher should face a planned "trident review board," despite President Donald Trump's tweet Thursday that Gallagher should remain a SEAL.

Spencer told Reuters at the Halifax International Security Forum in Nova Scotia, Canada, he supports the hearing into whether Gallagher can keep his trident, a symbol of the SEALS, in light of Gallagher's conviction at a general court-martial in San Diego in July.

"I believe the process matters for good order and discipline," Spencer said.

On Tuesday, the Union-Tribune reported that the decision to review the SEAL qualifications of four service members connected to Gallagher's war crimes case by the commander of Naval Special Warfare Command, Rear Adm. Collin Green was made with the support of Navy leadership, including the chief of naval operations, Adm. Mike Gilday.

Gallagher's legal team said the decision to hold board reviews was a challenge to Trump's authority as commander in chief.

Trump has intervened several times on Gallagher's behalf. On Thursday, about an hour after one of Gallagher's lawyers appeared on Fox & Friends decrying the review board, Trump took to Twitter to express his disapproval.

"The Navy will NOT be taking away Warfighter and Navy Seal Eddie Gallagher's Trident Pin. This case was handled very badly from the beginning. Get back to business!"

The Navy Chief of Information, Rear Adm. Charlie Brown, told the Union-Tribune Thursday afternoon that the Navy was waiting for Trump to issue more specific orders before officially canceling the review.

"The Navy follows the lawful orders of the President," Brown said in a statement.

"We will do so in case of an order to stop the administrative review of SOC Gallagher's professional qualification. We are aware of the President's tweet and we are awaiting further guidance."

A senior Navy official told the Union-Tribune late Thursday that, in fact, all the review boards have been halted pending further guidance from Trump.

Navy SEAL Chief Eddie Gallagher was charged with killing a wounded ISIS captive and shooting civilians during his time in Iraq in 2017. At the end of his court-martial, a jury acquitted him of the most serious allegations and convicted him of the offense of posing for photos with the body of the deceased fighter.

A military jury sentenced Gallagher to four months' confinement, which he served before trial, and reduced his rank to petty officer 1st class, or E-6.

On Nov. 15, President Donald Trump restored Gallagher's rank to E-7, or chief petty officer. The same day, Trump pardoned two Army service members accused of war crimes. His action on Gallagher's behalf was not a pardon or an exoneration.

Russia Exposes Operational Details on Several Israeli Strikes in Syria

Reveals Israel used Jordanian airspace to attack Damascus

Russia has repeatedly criticized Israel for attacks on Syria in recent months, but looked to step that criticism up on Friday, issuing specific operational details about four different Israeli attacks carried out over the past 10 days.

On November 12, Israel attacked the house of Islamic Jihad’s deputy leader in Damascus, killing his son and another civilian, while wounding 10 others. Three missiles were intercepted by Syria, but two other missiles hit the house.

On November 18, Israeli fighter jets entered Jordanian and Iraqi airspace, and attacked the al-Bukamal region. On the 19th, Israel attacked targets south of Damascus, and on the 20th Israel fired 40 cruise missiles into the Damascus suburbs, killing at least 10 Syrian soldiers and civilians.

While such incidents were all generally reported to be Israeli attacks, some of the specifics are likely to embarrass Israel. The revelation that they used Jordanian and Iraqi airspace in attacks is also likely to put pressure on both of those nations to defend their airspace at least a little bit.

Israel had made much of the November 20 attacks, presenting them as primarily targeting Iranians. Details on who was killed have not been made public, but it included a number of civilians. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly vowed to keep targeting Iran.

Political fundraiser with ties to Turkey and Libya offered witnesses millions to stay quiet

Federal prosecutors on Friday alleged that a political fundraiser offered six witnesses in a case against him $6 million for their silence.

The prosecutors also accused Imaad Zuberi, who is already accused of funneling foreign money into U.S. elections, of acting as an unregistered agent for the Turkish government and for Libyan government officials, as well as other foreign countries.

Zuberi later Friday pleaded guilty to counts on tax evasion, campaign finance violations and failing to register as a foreign agent.

Prosecutors have been investigating Zuberi over millions of dollars in political donations, including those to inaugural committees of both President Obama and President Trump

The prosecutors said in a court filing that Zuberi obstructed their probe “by paying, or offering to pay, $6,150,000 to six witnesses in return for their false testimony or silence” and that they would present evidence he acted on behalf of several foreign governments.

Zuberi is known to have ties to a high-profile Democratic Party donor linked to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s administration, and Zuberi is known to lobby on causes supported by Ankara, including efforts to have Turkish cleric Fethullah Gulen extradited from Pennsylvania back to Turkey to face trial over his accused involvement in a failed coup.

Zuber had been a big-dollar donor to both Obama and Hillary Clinton but switched allegiances to Trump shortly after his 2016 victory. He has defended the donations as “more of a networking thing” that actually backfired due to the legal scrutiny they brought.

Hong Kong Sees Record Voter Turnout Amid Calls for Democracy

Millions of Hongkongers stood in queues stretching for blocks to cast their vote in the city’s district council elections on Nov. 24, which is widely seen as a test of support for the government amid a months-long pro-democracy movement that has racked the city.

A record number of approximately 2.94 million took to the polls, a turn out rate of 71.20 percent.

The turnout was two times as much as the last district election in 2015.

“To say no to tyranny, the ballot on our hand is very important,” Anson Chan, former chief secretary of the Hong Kong administration, told The Epoch Times before casting her vote. She said that the election was an opportunity to show the government the real public sentiment.

Students Storm the Field at Harvard-Yale Game to Protest Climate

The 136th edition of one of college football's oldest rivalries, the Harvard-Yale game, was disrupted by a couple of hundred students who stormed the field at halftime to protest climate change, delaying the start of the second half.

The hour-long delay meant that the game, played at the Yale Bowl, finished in near darkness as the stadium has no lights installed. After two overtimes, Yale prevailed 50-43.

Make no mistake: this ain't your granddaddy's Ivy League.

In a statement, the Ivy League referred to the protest as "regrettable." Yale said that while it "stands firmly for the right to free expression," it had issues with how the protesters went about their demonstration.

"The exercise of free expression on campus is subject to general conditions, and we do not allow disruption of university events," Yale said in its own statement.

Yale coach Tony Reno said the unusual interruption was an example of what has made his university's rivalry with Harvard stand the test of time.

"It's what makes Yale Yale," Reno said. "Our group, I'm sure if you asked them and the Harvard guys what makes it special, it's not only the game of football. It's the passions."

Yes, even if those passions are due to blind ignorance.

The grown-ups tried to wrangle the unruly kids and get on with the game, but this is 2019, not 1968, so no tear gas, no police truncheons – even though some of the protesters could have used a good spanking.

The public-address announcer implored the group to leave, repeating, "As a courtesy to both teams, the game must resume." Protesters responded by chanting, "OK, boomer."

Yale police Chief Ronnell Higgins spoke to the protesters over a megaphone, trying to convince them that they had made their point, but it would be lost if the situation escalated.

Some protesters held banners asking their universities to act on climate change and Puerto Rico debt relief, including one sign that read, "Nobody wins. Yale & Harvard are complicit in climate injustice." Another read, "This is an emergency."

"Hey, hey, ho, ho, fossil fuels have got to go," some protesters chanted.

The Vietnam era has been so romanticized in popular culture that kids can't even come up with original slogans to scream at police. I get it. Maybe the kids are pining for the days when sex was guilt-free, drugs were cheap, and rock 'n roll ruled. Or maybe they've been watching History Channel documentaries about the protests of that era that make it seem fun and cool to get arrested.

The fact is, these kids have been programmed to panic over climate change. They're not thinking, they're emoting. If they ever grow up, they will realize that what they are asking is impossible without destroying industrialized civilization.

This, of course, is what those who are programming these kids desperately want. They don't give a hoot about climate. They care about control. Pray God they come to their senses before it's their turn to run the world.

Small plane crashes in eastern Congo, killing at least 27 people

GOMA, Democratic Republic of Congo (Reuters) - At least 27 people were killed, including some on the ground, when a small plane crashed into a densely populated neighborhood in the city of Goma in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo on Sunday, a rescue official said.

The propeller plane, which was operated by local company Busy Bee, crashed shortly after take-off en route to the city of Beni, about 250 km (155 miles) to the north, officials said.

The company said the 19-seater Dornier 228-200 had 16 passengers and two crew members on board.

There was no word yet on what might have caused the accident.

Joseph Makundi, the coordinator of rescue services in Goma, told Reuters that 27 bodies had been recovered from the rubble, including those of several people hit by falling debris.

“I was at a restaurant with my family when I saw the plane spinning three times in the air and emitting a lot of smoke,” said Djemo Medar, an eyewitness in Goma’s Mapendo neighborhood. “After that we saw the plane crash into this house,” he said pointing to a nearby building.

We know the pilot. His name is Didier. He was shouting, ‘Help me, Help me.’ But we had no way to get to him because the fire was so powerful,” Medar said.

At the crash site, residents threw water from buckets and cooking pots onto the smoldering wreckage. The rear section of the plane rested sideways, propped up by a wall, videos posted on social media showed.

Police arrested one man for stealing cash from the rubble and fired warning shots to disperse people who had started looting, he said.

Air accidents are relatively frequent in Congo because of lax safety standards and poor maintenance. All Congolese commercial carriers, including Busy Bee, are banned from operating in the European Union.

2,000 unregulated chemicals are currently being used in many conventional packaged foods across the U.S.

Do you know what you are putting into your body? If you can't pronounce an ingredient, chances are you shouldn't be consuming it. Can you limit the amount of processed foods you are consuming or at least avoid cancer-causing chemicals?

A recent report by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) shows that thousands of untested chemicals, approximately 2,000, can be found in a huge variety of conventional processed and packaged foods, which are available for purchase in US supermarkets. You may be surprised to know that these chemicals are legal, based off current chemical regulation laws, or lack thereof in the United States.

Out of the thousands of chemical additives that were discovered, several are known or suspected carcinogens, like synthetic sodium nitrite, which is found in many varieties of processed meats. The World Health Organization considers these probably carcinogenic. Another chemical, butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) is listed by the state of California as a cancer-causing chemical can be found in many items, such as a frozen pepperoni pizza.

Many other alarming chemicals are found in the packaging of the foods themselves, such as polypropylene, sulfuric acid and bisphenol A.

How Concerned Should You Be?

“It really depends on what level of risk consumers are comfortable with,” said Dawn Undurraga, a nutritionist at EWG and co-author of the study. “The more we learn about what is in conventional foods, the more evidence for concern we accumulate.”

If you are consuming a lot of processed foods, then obviously your risk level goes up, but these chemicals are certainly something to be aware of. If you can’t pronounce it on the ingredient list then it’s most likely a good thing to avoid.

Should The Government Take Some Responsibility?

Some consumers just assume that toxic chemicals should be regulated and legally prevented from winding up in our food. Aren’t there government organizations out there with our health and safety in mind? Unfortunately when it comes to chemical regulation — not just in our food, but also in our health and beauty products, as well as cleaning products, these chemicals simply aren’t regulated. For instance, the European Union has banned nearly 1300 chemicals from cosmetic products, versus only 11 in the United States. This means that manufacturers can use whatever the please, regardless of whether or not it’s gone through any appropriate safety testing.

“Unfortunately, our current policy on food additives was written in 1958 and has been completely co-opted by food and chemical companies,” Undurraga said. “Additives that are deemed ‘Generally Recognized as Safe,’ or GRAS, by a food or chemical company or trade association are exempt from the food additive petition process where the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reviews the safety of the additive.”

The world of corporate advertising has finally crossed the cultural Rubicon. In a newly released advertisement, yet another major corporation has idolized a lifestyle choice, which, naturally, has absolutely no connection to the traditional nuclear family that has guided Western civilization through thick and thin over two millennia. The controversial ad in question focuses all of its fervid attention not on the product, but rather on promoting transgender attitudes among the impressionable pubescent teen population.

This latest creation borne out of the Cultural Marxist laboratory, which just happens to be a commercial for Sprite, a beverage produced by the Coca-Cola Company, features several adolescents preparing for their attendance at some rainbow-festooned event on the streets of a soulless urban jungle. If the ad feels more like a documentary than a promotional for carbonated sugar water that’s because no actor is ever seen quenching their thirst with the drink. Instead, the product has become a vehicle – a veritable Trojan horse – for driving home a hugely controversial issue into the living rooms of millions of Americans.

I’m struggling to imagine a grandmother that would ungrudgingly accept such a scenario, but in the fizzy pop reality world of the Coca-Cola Company anything is possible.

What’s missing in this corporate-sponsored trip to the far side of insanity? Well, for starters, common sense. After all, is it really wise to award hero status upon pubescent teens over their sexual orientation, which is oftentimes confused at best? Teenagers are already greatly influenced by the myriad messages they are bombarded with daily over social media. Do they really need a Fortune 500 company promoting a lifestyle, namely transgender, which carries with it an entire rainbow of untold risks? Israel’s current political impasse is a particularly dangerous time for Netanyahu. After two elections held earlier this year, neither Netanyahu nor his nearest rival Benny Gantz have been able to form a coalition government. Netanyahu is still the sitting PM. But lawmakers could vote for a new prime minister in the next few weeks, or else failing that the country will be forced to go to a third election in March next year.

Either way, Netanyahu needs to stay in office if he wants to throw the prosecution trial into the long grass. That means the temptation will be ever-stronger for the hot-headed commando-turned-politician to rile up security tensions with Iran and Syria, as well as neighboring Palestinians. Netanyahu has always drummed up votes by presenting himself as the great defender of Israelis.

Over the past week, as a three-year criminal investigation concluded with charges being leveled against Netanyahu for bribery, fraud and abuse of power for favorable media influence, Israeli forces under his command launched deadly air strikes against Iranian targets in Syria. Reports indicated that around 23 people were killed, most of whom were Iranian military belonging to the elite Quds Force. Though Syrian media claimed that most of the attacks were intercepted. Whether Iranian personnel were killed or not, the Israeli intention is to provoke Tehran.

Notably, Israeli military usually do not confirm or deny when they carry out air strikes on Syria or neighboring countries. This week, however, Israeli leaders including Netanyahu were bragging about the strikes.

Netanyahu said: “I have made clear that any who attack us, we will attack them. That is what we did tonight [November 20] toward military targets of the Iranian Quds Force and Syrian military targets.”

The Israelis claim they were responding to rockets fired from the Golan Heights. But it seems those rockets were provoked by earlier Israeli strikes on Syria just days before.

There is more than a suspicion that Israel was orchestrating the pretext for a flare up in violence. The purpose being to allow Netanyahu to dust off his war medals and flex his muscles for the electorate.
