Sup fags. I am almost through Gen Mattis's book Call Sign Chaos and was thinking about a few situations the General discusses in the Executive Leadership and the Strategic leadership sections:
-
Tora Bora mountains. Bin Laden escaped because the higher ups Gen Franks didn't want to commit the joint forces to cut off escape routes and engage the enemy. Makes zero sense as Mattis explains in the book because coalition forces didn't have any heavy equipment; it was a light, agile force since they had to push so far in from the coast to Rhino. Deliberate attempt to undermine our war fighters by senior leaders? Mattis, IMO humbly blames this on his lack of managing up so he could anticipate questions from the head shed. What if the goal was to let the motherfucker escape? Given that it is Gen Franks and Gen Mattis, two senior military leaders I doubt thisโฆ. but what about the Iraq pullout?
-
Hussein calls Iraq stable and orders troops to withdraw despite senior military and state department leadership voicing concerns about the Shiite government exacting revenge on the Sunni members in the military and government. Gen Mattis and others asked for 18,000 troops to stay in Iraq to maintain the peace and 3,500 stay. Our troops pull out and as Gen Mattis says in the book "ISIS rose like a phoenix from the ashes" to sweep through Iraq and Syria. How about that? What if that was the end goal - a new terror group, encouraged by our withdrawal. What if that was the cabal's plan all along and the cards were deliberately stacked against our military commanders?
Bin Laden escaping Tora Bora mountains I can see as a result of military red tape and difference of opinion by the brass. Iraq? I have a hard time assuming positive intent b/c quid-pro-Joe and Hussein had decision control.
What say you fags. All theory ^ and would appreciate any perspective and reading materials worth looking into to broaden my perspective.
