Dutch Police: Several People Wounded in Hague Stabbing

Several people were wounded in a stabbing on a shopping street in The Hague, Netherlands, according to Dutch police officials.

Local authorities and emergency services are on scene at Grote Marktstraat, the city’s main shopping street where people were out shopping for Black Friday deals, reports Sky News.

Officers said the suspect is between 45-50 years old and wearing a grey jogging suit.

Additional details are not yet known.

The incident occurred hours after a knifeman stabbed several people, killing two, in central London. Police shot the suspect dead and are investigating as a terror-related incident.

The White House expressed support for the United Kingdom following the attack.

“The United States strongly condemns all horrific acts of violence on innocent people, and we pledge our full support to our ally, the United Kingdom,” White House deputy press secretary Judd Deere said in a statement.

At yesterday’s Thanksgiving table, fifteen adults present, there was not one word uttered about impeachment, Russia, Ukraine, and, most notably, a certain Golden Golem of Greatness, whose arrival at the center of American life three years ago kicked off a political hysteria not witnessed across this land since southern “fire eaters” lay siege to Fort Sumter.

I wonder if some great fatigue of the mind has set in among the class of people who follow the news and especially the tortured antics of Rep. Adam Schiff’s goat rodeo in the House intel Committee the past month. I wonder what the rest of congress is detecting among its constituents back home during this holiday hiatus. I suspect it is that same eerie absence of chatter I noticed, and what it may portend about the nation’s disposition toward reality.

The dead white man Arthur Schopenhauer (1788 – 1860) famously observed that “all truth passes through three stages: first, it is ridiculed; second, it is violently opposed; and third, it is accepted as self-evident.”

America has been stuck in stage two lo these thirty-six months since Mr. Trump shocked the system with his electoral victory over She-Whose-Turn-Was-Undoubted, inciting a paroxysm of rage, disbelief, and retribution that has made the Left side of the political transect ridiculous, and repeatedly, ignominiously so, as their fantasies about Russian “collusion” and sequential chimeras dissolve in official proceedings.

The astounding failure of Mr. Mueller’s report did nothing to dampen the violent derangement. There was no rethinking whatsoever about the terms-of-engagement in the Left’s war against the populist hobgoblin. The solidarity of delusion remained locked in place, leading to Mr. Schiff’s recent antics over his false “whistleblower” and the enfilade of diplomatic flak-catchers tasked to ward off any truthful inquiry into events in Ukraine.

But then, with the Thanksgiving shut-down, something began to turn. It was signaled especially in the Left’s chief disinformation organ, The New York Times, with a week-long salvo of lame stories aimed at defusing the Horowitz report, forthcoming on December 9. The Times stories were surely based on leaks from individuals cited in the IG’s report, who were given the opportunity to “review” the briefs against them prior to the coming release. The stories gave off an odor of panic and desperation that signaled a crumbling loss of conviction in the three-year narrative assault on the truth — namely, that the US Intel Community organized a coup to overthrow the improbable President Trump.

'Crisis' hit Zimbabwe wants white farmers back – report

Cape Town – Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe's government has reportedly indicated, for the first time, that it may hand back land to some white farmers whose farms were forcibly taken away from them during the height of the country’s controversial land reform programme.

This comes a decade and a half after the Zimbabwean government seized large swaths of land from white farmers in the country - a move that saw a drastic deterioration in the country's economy.

According to The Telegraph, Minister of Lands Douglas Mombeshora said provincial leaders had been tasked to come up with names of white farmers they wanted to remain on their farms. The farms should be "of strategic economic importance".

"We have asked provinces to give us the names of white farmers they want to remain on farms so that we can give them security of tenure documents to enable them to plan their operations properly," Mombeshora was quoted as saying.

Compensation process

The report said those who benefitted from the land grabs will in future be expected to pay a small rental per acre, which will be used to pay compensation to evicted white farmers.

Fin24 reported late last year that Mugabe’s administration was willing to compensate white farmers and to clarify its indigenisation laws.

Finance minister Patrick Chinamasa was quoted at the time as saying that government was seeking resources to implement the compensation of white commercial farmers.

"…we have an obligation under the constitution of Zimbabwe to compensate white farmers who lost their land during the land reform programme. It is not out of intention that we are delaying to implement the compensation process, but rather an issue of scarce resources which are needed to fully carry out the programme," Chinamasa was quoted as saying.

Landless blacks

The latest developments are seen as a U-turn in the southern African country’s land policy after Mugabe vowed last year that whites will never be allowed to own land in Zimbabwe.

Mugabe and his Zanu-PF party launched the land reforms in 2000, taking over white-owned farms to resettle landless blacks.

Mugabe said the reforms were meant to correct colonial land ownership imbalances.

At least 4 000 white commercial farmers were evicted from their farms.

The land seizures were often violent, claiming the lives of several white farmers during clashes with veterans of Zimbabwe's 1970s liberation struggle.

Critics of the reforms have blamed the programme for low production on the farms as the majority of the beneficiaries lacked the means and skills to work the land.

Israel Strikes Hamas Military Post in Gaza in Response to Recent Attack - IDF

The tensions between the two sides have escalated recently, following Israel's killing of Baha Abu al-Atta, a top commander from the Islamic Jihad group in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli forces fired a rocket at a Hamas military post in the northern Gaza Strip, the Israeli Defence Forces reported on Friday.

According to the military, it was a retaliatory attack, as another rocket fired from Gaza targeted Israeli positions earlier in the day.

Earlier this week, IDF identified two launches from the Gaza Strip, following sirens in the Gaza Strip and Sderot.

Throughout this month, Palestinian militants have fired multiple rockets toward Israel, while the latter have responded with aerial attacks.
