We had an interesting argument over dinner last night. With regard to Mr. Giuliani and the firing of the Ukraine ambassador, my partner stated, "Only government employees can give advice to the president." I responed, "I can give advice to the president. Anyone can. That's part of being in a democracy." Or even a democratic republic. That doesn't mean that the president has to take my advice, of course, but I'm allowed to write to him and express an opinion, among other forms of communication available to citizens.

I'm not sure how much it matters if the vote conflicts with AG Barr's interview. It's going to end up in someone's video anyway, which is where I'd see it. I don't watch broadcast TV if I can help it.
