The jewish impeachment of Trump caused problems for justice Roberts because he could be called as a fact witness. The only trouble with that is judges cannot testify at trial or it results in a mistrial.

Roberts will have to step down, and another chief justice has to be selected, thus removing Roberts from that position.

The constitution calls for the chief justice to preside. He can't recuse himself and remain in that position. It's a catch 22.
