I saw him speak live at an NRA convention (he may have been Amb to the UN then). I followed him pretty closely back then and really liked him. The UN, Washington establishment, and media hated his guts. When the UN tried to disarm Americans and nullify the 2A by passing a binding small arms control treaty, Bolton went apeshit on them. In my opinion, he’s a peace through strength guy, like POTUS. That may come off as a neocon warmonger to many, but that’s not necessarily the case. I’m willing to keep an open mind on him. McMaster was no good in my book, so I think this was definitely an upgrade.
