Iraqi National Security Council Vows to Revise Ties With Intl Coalition, US Forces
BAGHDAD (Sputnik) - The Pentagon claimed earlier it had carried out "defensive strikes" against five Kata'ib Hezbollah facilities in Iraq and Syria in an alleged response to a rocket attack on Friday that killed a US contractor at a Kirkuk base north of Baghdad.
The airstrike by the United States on Shiite militias is a violation of Iraqi sovereignty and might provoke Baghdad to revise its attitude toward the international coalition, the Iraqi National Security Council said in a statement on Monday.
A senior State Department official said during a briefing on Monday that Iraq’s authorities have not done enough to protect US troops stationed there and called their lack of condemnation of pro-Iranian militia blamed for a series of attacks on US forces - disappointing. The State Department official also expressed disappointment over Iraqi criticism, adding that the United States does not have "any fear" of a possible backlash against its actions.

US Officials Suggest Blackwater Founder Violated Sanctions on Venezuela - Report
Erik Prince, founder of the notorious private military company Blackwater, was reported to have visited Venezuela earlier this month, holding a private meeting with Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez in Caracas.
Erik Prince has been referred to the US Treasury Department for a possible violation of the current US sanctions on Venezuela, following his recent visit to the Venezuelan capital of Caracas for a private meeting with Delcy Rodriguez, the country’s vice president, who is under US sanctions, according to the Associated Press, citing two unnamed US officials.
In the meanwhile, a Prince lawyer, Matthew Schwartz, reportedly claimed that his client's trip was not business-related, and no sanction violation occurred, suggesting that Prince received “clear legal guidance” before travelling to Venezuela and meeting with Rodriguez, who is a major aide to President Nicolás Maduro.
“There is nothing unlawful about simply visiting Venezuela and participating in non-business discussions, which is all that Mr. Prince did. We would be better served by focusing on measures that might actually restore peace and prosperity to Venezuela rather than worrying about who paid a visit to whom,” Schwartz stated, cited by AP.

J.B. Pritzker's inherited billions would likely make him a serious contender for the Democratic nomination if he makes good on his threat to run for Illinois governor — but he can't count on the support of all of his famously wealthy clan.
Pritzker's cousin, Col. Jennifer Pritzker, told Chicago Inc. on Friday that she isn't ready to commit.
"If he wants to run, that's his privilege," said the 66-year-old retired U.S. Army officer, who has contributed to Democratic aldermen in Chicago but has backed Republican candidates in state-level races. "I think he and I have some differences on certain issues. Right now, I don't know where his current positions are so I'd have to look at that. I can't really answer that now."

Liberals are melting down as #ItsOkayToBeWhite became Twitter’s top trending hashtag on Monday.
The phrase doesn’t claim that it is “better” or “superior” to be white, or disparage any other races, simply that it is “OK,” if you are.
“It’s okay to be white” flyers have popped up at campuses all over the nation in the last few years, as white men are constantly being put down by the media. The statement is frequently referred to as a “hate message,” though “Black Lives Matter” and other slogans are not only smiled upon, but encouraged.
This loon had a complete meltdown and thought it would be a good idea to post it.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:30 P.M.) – Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, a spokesman for the Libyan National Army, said that hundreds of terrorists affiliated with ISIS and Al-Qaeda had been transferred from Syria to Libya during the past days via Turkey.
Al-Mismari said during a press conference on Monday that “Ankara transferred terrorists of various nationalities” to Libya.
He continued: “Erdogan wants to hit two birds with one stone by sending the militants to Libya. The first reason is to get rid of these militants who are a burden on his country, and secondly, control the resources of Libya.”
The spokesman for the Libyan National Army said that “Erdogan has exceeded all the standards of the international community and the Security Council and contributed to the transfer of terrorists from one country to another,” noting that “what Ankara is doing is not only threatening Libya but the entire Arab region.”

Thanks to facial recognition at major travel points around the world, spies, aka ‘spooks’, can now use only a single identity in any given country. Once scanned under one identity, they are instantly identified if they show up with a different one. ⁃ TN Editor
U.S. spies are no longer being tailed by foreign governments in about 30 different countries because advances in facial recognition, biometrics and artificial intelligence have made it almost impossible for the agents to hide.
Whereas governments would once physically follow CIA officers, facial recognition at airports and general CCTV surveillance in those countries makes it far easier to track people.
It comes as U.S. intelligence agencies face a growing crisis in intelligence gathering, as developments in technology are making it increasingly more difficult to protect operatives and mask their digital footprints.
In one attempt to tackle the crisis, the CIA created a multi-million dollar program called the Station of the Future, intelligence officials revealed to Yahoo News.
The program, created over the past decade, was run out of a diplomatic facility in Latin America and involved a team of spies trying to build tools and test techniques that could help the industry battle the digital age.

Census: California to Lose Congressional Seat for First Time in History
New figures from the U.S. Census ahead of the 2020 decennial count suggest that California could lose a seat in Congress for the first time in its history.
While other “Sun Belt” states stand to gain congressional representation, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday, citing U.S. Census Bureau figures on state population changes through July 1, California — once a symbol of the nation’s westward growth — will likely lose a congressional seat.
The Journal reported that California will join the cold states of the Northeast and Midwest in losing political clout:
Based on Monday’s figures, Texas is poised to gain two congressional seats, and Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Montana, North Carolina and Oregon are expected to gain one. Eight states are expected to lose one seat: California, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and West Virginia.

The actual reapportionment calculation will take place by December 2020, with its details worked out in 2021. Each state will redraw its legislative maps, and those that have more than one congressional seat will redraw districts as well.
The shift of political power away from the Northeast and Midwest toward the Southeast and Southwest is the result of residents flocking to states with warm weather, strong job growth, cheaper housing and, in some cases, lower taxes.
