Hunter Biden provided legal advice in 2016 to a Romanian charged with real estate fraud. Gabriel "Puiu' Popoviciu hired Biden hoping to dodge federal prosecution. At the same time, VP Biden was claiming to be pushing Romania to clean up political corruption.
Popoviciu had married into Romanian communist royalty, son-in-law to Ion Dinca whose regime collapsing had Popoviciu coming to America for a time after, establishing himself in New Jersey. After a couple of years he went back to Romania, taking a computer tech company with him and the first Pizza Hut Franchise in Romania. He also owned a KFC franchise, bought and sold an Ikea franchise and was the 2nd largest hotel chain owner there with Howard Johnson Grand Plaza, Ramada Plaza, and Ramada Parc Hotels. He is also behind the restaurant Casa Doina and two companies called Alltrom and Comaliment.
Popoviciu apparently was selling land that had been bought illegally through a….Shell Company. Before being convicted to 9 years in prison he fled Romania and turned self in after Romanian police located him in London. There is Elgeka-Ferfelis, an official distributor for Shell branded lubricants in Romania, not sure if that is the one dealing with the land, only one I found so far.
We have three countries so far…Ukraine, China, & Romania…wonder if there are more?
