The most obvious takeaway as to why Dems are upset about the Soleimani strike is that Obama’s legacy is being destroyed one by one, and Trump erased all significance of the “fake” killing of Bin Laden, and that’s a good thing

David Petraeus: Eliminating Qasem Soleimani More Significant than Killing Bin Laden or Al-Baghdadi

Former General David Petraeus described President Donald Trump’s decision to eliminate Iranian General Qasem Soleimani in Baghdad as the most significant action against terrorism in the Middle East.

“It is impossible to overstate the importance of this particular action. It is more significant than the killing of Osama bin Laden or even the death of [Islamic State leader Abu Bakr] al-Baghdadi,” he said in an interview with Foreign Policy magazine.

Petraeus said President Trump had effectively reestablished the idea any Iranian attack against American targets would be met with considerable force.

“This is the most formidable adversary that we have faced for decades,” he said, noting that Soleimani had previously enjoyed considerable power and freedom to act boldly in the region. “This is a very significant effort to reestablish deterrence, which obviously had not been shored up by the relatively insignificant responses up until now.”

Petraeus said Iran would clearly think carefully before attacking an American target, noting that they had recently become emboldened in the region.

“Many people had rightly questioned whether American deterrence had eroded somewhat because of the relatively insignificant responses to the earlier actions,” he said. “This clearly was of vastly greater importance.”

Petraeus said Iran was in a “precarious” situation because of their fragile economy, and estimated that the Iranian people would not support an escalation of war with the United States.

“Iran has to be very worried that in the state of its economy, the significant popular unrest and demonstrations against the regime that this is a real threat to the regime in a way that we have not seen prior to this,” he said.

Yep this is because Obama is losing every shred of success and his legacy is disappearing with every action our President takes to make us safe, but NYTs does their part by changing the headline because of whining

Kekkkkk

Ben Rhodes, Creator of Iran Deal ‘Echo Chamber’, Complains About NYT Coverage of Soleimani Strike

Ben Rhodes, the former national security aide to President Barack Obama who created the notorious “echo chamber” to spread fake news about the Iran deal, complained on Saturday that the media was not critical enough of President Donald Trump’s airstrike against Iranian general Qassem Soleimani last week.

Rhodes retweeted a complaint about a New York Times article on Friday whose headline declared, “Trump Says He Ordered Killing of Iranian to Prevent New Attack on Americans.”

Curiously, the Times headline on the article Rhodes complained about has apparently been changed to: “U.S. and Iran Exchange More Threats as Democrats Question Timing of Strike.”

Iraqi prime minister says Qassem Soleimani was in Iraq to 'discuss de-escalating tensions between Iran and Saudis' when he was killed - and claims Trump had asked for help mediating talks after embassy attack

Iraq's caretaker prime minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi, told his parliament in Baghdad on Sunday that US strike on Soleimani was a 'political assassination'

Abdul Mahdi claimed that Soleimani was due to meet with him on the same day that he was killed by a US drone near the Baghdad airport early on Friday

The outgoing Iraqi leader says that Soleimani was supposed to bring him Iran's response to a Saudi proposal for de-escalating regional tensions

Saudi Arabia, a regional rival, blames Iran for an attack on the kingdom's oil facilities in September

Abdul Mahdi also claims that President Trump called him and asked him to mediate talks with Iran after the US embassy in Baghdad was nearly overrun

Supporters of the Shiite group Kataib Hezbollah scaled the walls and barreled through security at the US embassy in Baghdad on Tuesday

Abdul Mahdi said he personally intervened to defuse the embassy crisis and that the American president thanked him for doing so

Qassem Soleimani, the Iranian Quds Force commander who was killed in a US drone attack in Baghdad on Friday, was in Iraq to negotiate a de-escalation in tensions with Saudi Arabia, according to the Iraqi prime minister.

Imagine that, President Trump didn’t share his Soleimani plans with Erdogan, gee I wonder why

It was claimed by Russian state media that Erdogan told Iranian president Hassan Rouhani he felt 'sorry for the loss of the martyr Qassem Soleimani'.

The deepening crisis between Tehran and the Washington reached new levels when a drone strike killed the leader of the elite Iranian Quds Force at Baghdad airport on Friday.

The Arabic-language version of Russian outlet RT said the remarks were made by Erdogan during a conference call yesterday.

RT quoted Erdogan as saying: 'I feel sorry for the loss of the martyr Qassem Soleimani, and I understand the anger of the people of Iran.

'I witnessed Soleimani's funeral in Iraq as it shows his popularity with the Iraqi people.'

He reportedly added that there was a need 'not to allow external interference in a way that does not endanger peace and stability in the region' and that killing Soleimani was 'a grave mistake'.

Today Erdogan again called for de-escalation between Iran and the US, saying the slaying of the top commander will likely not go unanswered, and voiced concern about regional security risks.

During a televised interview today, he said he was surprised by the killing because the strike occurred just hours after a phone call with President Trump. Erdogan said he 'especially had suggested to [Trump] that tensions with Iran should not be heightened' during that call

Tehran has since abandoned all limits of its 2015 nuclear deal, and Iraq's parliament called for the expulsion of all American troops from Iraqi soil.

Turkey shares a border with Iran, Iraq and Syria.

Mohsen Rezaee, a former leader of Iran's Revolutionary Guard, said the Israeli cities of Tel Aviv and Haifa can be targeted to avenge the killing, along with at least 35 US targets.

Someone on Trumps team is leaking disinfo and planning

President Trump decided to kill Soleimani from Mar-a-Lago where his top national security advisers gave him a range of options - and he choose the most dramatic

Some advisers voiced concern about the legal justification for a strike without evidence of an imminent attack in the works against Americans.

So other options were discussed in the coming days with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Defense Secretary Mark Esper and national security adviser Robert O'Brien, including bombing the base of the group blamed for killing the US contractor.

But Trump remained focused on the option to target Soleimani, a preference that surprised the small circle of aides because the president had long been reluctant to deepen US military engagement around the world.

By Thursday, officials believed they had intelligence indicating Soleimani was plotting against Americans, though it's unclear when that intelligence became known to US officials.

Anons who did this meme? Good job

Svengali Trump Hypnotizing Democrats and the Media

—A Svengali is a person who controls another’s mind, usually with sinister intent, based on the 1891 gothic-horror novel Trilby, by George du Maurier. A century later, in the 1950s and 60s, the CIA actually dabbled and experimented in mind control under the codename MKUltra.

—The concept appears frequently in popular culture. Jason Bourne, a Robert Ludlum character, was programed by MKUltra. So too, allegedly, was Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber.

Today the master of mind control, also known as the “very stable” Svengali genius is none other than President Donald Trump. Simply by tweeting or eating a scoop of ice cream during a military strike, he can turn normally sane members of Congress and journalists into raving lunatics

—As a politician, especially one running for a second term as president with the election less than a year away, Trump’s life is a perpetual campaign.

—How convenient for the incumbent president to use mind control on his political opponents to constantly campaign, not for themselves or their issues, but inadvertently for the president. It seems each inane utterance by the left creates another Trump voter or campaign contributor.

—What’s more remarkable is that this modern-day Svengali is a political novice, a brash and at times crude real estate developer from New York City, where the only recent magic trick was their most famous prison detainee, under constant guard, on suicide precautions, somehow managing to kill himself. I don’t think even Houdini could pull off a trick like that.

—The most recent example of the very stable Svengali’s mind control is his killing of Iranian terrorist mastermind General Qasem Soleimani and his sidekick Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.

Who knew an American president killing a terrorist could work as a form of mind control? This meme, making the rounds on the internet, says it all

When President Obama ordered the “assassination” of Osama Bin Laden, he was hailed as a hero. Even though Joe Biden can’t remember if he advised for or against that raid. Or where he was at the time. Or where he is today.

—Even Trump’s recent killing of al-Baghdadi drew a neutral response from Democrats and the media. After all, why make a fuss since at the time they had the Ukraine phone call as the latest “bombshell” to take down Trump.

—Now they have nothing, just a bogus partisan impeachment vote that is more like a joke without a punch line. They couldn’t let the Soleimani raid go without outrage. Yet in their outrage, Svengali Trump tricked them into defending Iran and terrorism.

—The Washington Post referred to Soleimani as “Iran’s most revered military leader.” Sort of like a General MacArthur or Patton I suppose. Except they weren’t terrorists.
