It was interesting that Gervaise included the add-on joke about Prince Andrew when talking about Leonardo DeCaprio's young date!

 

For an Englishman, that's the equivalent of going into your company's AGM and telling the shareholders that the Chairman's son has committed a crime that will render the shares worthless. You don't expect a safe environment when you return to the office!

 

After putting Prince Andrew out to pasture "until it all blows over", I would expect the British/Royal establishment to be gunning for Gervaise as it will now never blow over - that speech will still be viewed in 20 years time!

 

That one sentence alone was VERY brave!

By a govt program? By a committee?

I would guess they are similar to seal which isnt as appetizing as one would imagine. The fat is a thick layer on top of very lean very red meat, tastes very iron-y. Its almost black its so dark red. Calorically dense yes but not what id consider a prime meal for taste.

BAKED HAVARTI PENGUIN BREAST

 

  • 4 boneless, skinless penguin breast halves

 

  • 1 (8 ounce) package sliced fresh mushrooms

 

  • 2 (4 ounce) cans whole green

 

  • chili peppers, drained, and sliced lengthwise

 

  • 4 ounces sliced Havarti cheese with dill

 

  • Italian dressing

 

  • Greek seasoning (optional)

 

  • 1 tablespoon butter

 

  • 1 tablespoon white cooking wine

 

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

 

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

 

Directions

 

1) Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

 

2) Marinate penguin in Italian Dressing and Greek Seasoning, if using, for a minimum of 30 minutes.

 

3) Place penguin in a 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle top with additional Greek seasoning, if desired, and bake in preheated oven for approximately 25 minutes, or until no longer pink in center and juices run clear.

 

4) Shortly before penguin is done, melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat until bubbling. Pour in wine, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic salt, and bring to a boil. Stir in mushrooms. Reduce to a simmer, cover, and cook until mushrooms are tender, about 3 to 5 minutes. Adjust seasoning with salt as needed.

 

5) Remove penguin from the oven. Lay green chili slices on top of each breast, then top each chili with a slice of cheese. Return to the oven until cheese has melted.

 

6)Remove penguin from the oven, top with mushrooms and their pan juices, and serve and enjoy!

 

I even found a suggested internal temperature of 150-155 degrees F for cooking. Wild!

 

By the way; penguins also live in Africa, South America, New Zealand.

When a director (or likely 1st AD) says “check the gate”, it is an indication that they are satisfied with the takes of the shot at hand and prepared to move on so long as there is reasonable certainty the image is clean, which is achieved as described below.

 

The gate is the rectangular opening in a cinema camera that has lens and shutter in front of it and film pressed flat behind it.

 

When the final setup of a take is made, the gate is checked for hair or emulsion debris. This is done either by advancing the mirror shutter to “open" with the pinching knob and shining a strong light into the lens to inspect film plane, or by removing the lens and inspecting directly.

 

No cast or crew move on to the next setup until the gate is called good by a camera assistant.

 

If the gate is dirty, it indicates any prior takes may have visual damage or shaded frames, and so the gate is cleared ( cleaned ) and another take or more will be taken as safety coverage.

 

In the digital world, “check the gate" is still a thing, though not generally to clean sensor but to confirm playback and data integrity of last take before moving on.

That noose is all wrong. If that fabric were tightly pulled around his neck it would be heavily creased and rounded. I imagine it would have gotten damp from being in contact with skin too so that would have stiffened the creases and made it hold the shape.

 

Think about how the fabric of a sash will crease when you tie it around your waist. This does not look like fabric that was around a man's throat at all. I don't buy it.

 

Now you might make the argument that it isn't the type of fabric to hold a crease, but it has creases in it so you can't say that. If THAT fabric was around the man's neck it should be crimped and twisted from being taut and should be as narrow as the mark on his neck. It isn't.

Just realized a few things digging.

 

The transition teams.
