From what I've studied, that part of the verse has been mis-translated. It should actually read:
My God, for this reason you have spared me.
Think about it. Why would God, Jesus' Father, forsake him when Jesus was accomplishing perfectly the Father's will?? That never made sense to me until I studied it and learned that it was translated very poorly.
