Prosecution gets until end of day Friday to lay out their case. Defense would start either late Friday night or Saturday morning. I think they skip Sunday and pick it up on Monday and Tuesday, at which point it goes into question & answer period, which is two 8 hour days.

 

After that it's up in the air because the question of witnesses and other topics come up for a vote.

"Go Outside!" President Macron Filmed Yelling At Israeli Police In Jerusalem Church Altercation

 

On Wednesday French President Emmanuel Macron toured Jerusalem's Old City with a police escort as he attended the Fifth World Holocaust Forum in Israel. He especially wanted to visit the Church of St Anne, just like some of his predecessors, given it's specially designated as French sovereign territory since being gifted by the Ottoman Empire to France in 1856. The church is considered the best preserved Crusader church in the region, and dates back to 1138. By popular belief it enshrines the home of the Virgin Mary and her parents. But President Macron's trip to the French national treasure was marred when he personally entered a spat with Israeli security, berating at least one Israeli officer to "Go outside, please!" in English. It's unclear precisely what the Israeli security entourage did to provoke the rare and bizarre incident, but the historic Roman Catholic church is located in East Jerusalem — on the occupied Palestinian side which is also the Muslim Quarter of the walled city.

 

According to the BBC, "Mr Macron accused officers of violating rules that prevent them from entering the Crusader-era Church of St Anne, which is considered French territory." "I don't like what you did in front of me. Go outside, please," he warned them in English. "Nobody has to provoke." Video of the Wednesday testy exchange went viral in the hours after it happened. Macron appeared to be directing his wrath at a uniformed Israeli police officer.

 

Macron referenced agreed up rules asserting control of the place as French territory: "I'm sorry, but we know the rules. Nobody, nobody has to provoke, nobody. We keep calm," the 42-year old French president said. He also turned to a plainclothes security officer, attempting to calm the situation: "We had a wonderful walk. You did a great job in the city. I do appreciate it guys." He followed with: "Please respect the rules as they are for centuries. They will not change with me. I can tell you, OK?" And then he moved forward unimpeded into the church.

 

A spokeswoman for the Elysée Palace later told CNN the altercation involved a tense exchange between French and Israeli security, likely involving physical shoving, with the Israeli Foreign Ministry remaining mum immediately following the incident: "St. Anne belongs to France in Jerusalem. It is up to France to protect these places in this city. The Israeli security forces wanted to enter while security was being provided by French security services. The president reacted to an altercation between the Israeli and French security forces at the time of entering Saint Anne in order to end it, and to remind everyone of the rules that apply," the spokeswoman said. A similar incident had actually played out in 1996 when French President Jacques Chirac toured St. Anne's. In that episode, which created an international incident for which the Israeli Foreign Ministry issued an apology, Chirac was angered when Israeli security shoved local Muslims and journalists that were among the entourage.

IRGC Commander & "Soleimani Ally" Shot Dead By Masked Assassins On Motorcycle

 

An elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander has been shot dead by masked assailants in front of his house in southwestern Iran. Crucially, he was a mid-range to possibly top commander of the IRGC's hardline domestic wing, the Basij militia, and a close ally of recently assassinated Quds Force chief Qassem Soleimani, reports state news IRNA on Wednesday. The details clearly suggest that it was an assassination — at this point by an unknown entity or group — given two men riding a motorcycle drove by and essentially executed him in the street.

 

Reuters has described the slain Basij militia commander, Abdolhossein Mojaddami, as "an ally of Qassem Soleimani" — who was himself assassinated by US drone strike on January 3rd. "IRNA said that Abdolhossein Mojaddami, a Basij commander in the city of Darkhovin in the southwestern province of Khuzestan, was shot on Tuesday in front of his home by two men riding a motorcycle," Reuters reports based on official Iranian state media quotes. "There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, IRNA said." From what I've studied, that part of the verse has been mis-translated. It should actually read:

My God, for this reason you have spared me.

 

Think about it. Why would God, Jesus' Father, forsake him when Jesus was accomplishing perfectly the Father's will?? That never made sense to me until I studied it and learned that it was translated very poorly.

I think verse 5 below shows that Jesus' Father God "forsook" Him, unless we don't have a correct understanding of the word "again." How is he a father unto Jesus ''"again"'' unless there was a temporary cutting off/separation/"forsaking."

At least 19 trucks carrying powdered and UHT milk have been returned to Uganda or diverted by Kenyan authorities, according to an internal memo by the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).

 

The milk truck loads worth more than Sh27 million (Ush1.1 billion), URA details show, were directed to return on varying dates or let in and the goods later seized by Kenya.

 

This, together with the sealing off of the Pearl Dairies depot in Kisumu, western Kenya, is expected to spark a trade war with far-reaching implications. Uganda has already demanded that Kenya stops hostilities on its exports or face reciprocal measures.

 

According to the memo seen by Daily Monitor, Uganda is already targeting a number of goods, key among them juices, assorted household items and roofing materials.

 

URA sources that requested anonymity said that although Ugandan goods, specifically milk, are cleared by the Kenya Revenue Authority, Kenya Bureau of Standards and Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service, they are later seized by Kenya's inland police once in the country.

On Wednesday, Mr Gideon Badagawa, the Private Sector Foundation Uganda executive director, said that whereas he was not aware of the milk diversions, there was a breakdown in communication between Ugandan and Kenyan authorities.

 

“We see a breakdown in the communication to the relevant technical authorities and this could be the reason why all this is happening,” he said while expressing his disappointment over how Kenya has treated Uganda yet it is one of the country’s major trade partners.

 

Uganda may be tempted to retaliate on a number of Kenyan goods, but experts have expressed concern on the damage such a move would bring to the East African Community. The EAC treaty bars any form of non-tariff barriers by member states in order to ease trade.

 

“We are seeing an increase in NTBs [non-tariff barriers] among the member states. This is not good for trade and the region,” Mr Badagawa says.

 

The way forward right now, he says, is for member states to go back to Arusha, Tanzania and look at the issue of sovereignty where it was agreed to open markets.
