I've been a huge fan of music, movies, and tv growing up. I get many references to each, perhaps, except, newer stuff. I guess I've never really given 2 shits about watching these people accept little trophies for doing what I would consider stuff that isn't "work", but more or less, just "fun". Thanks for the clarification, though! It's good to understand so that when people see these "award" shows, they realize who was reaching for the promises of fame/glory more than the rest of the competition in the room. That's really what it boils down to, right?
What I'm getting at, for example, Tom Hanks gets a "Lifetime Achievement" award. What does that award really reflect? Does it mean he was willing to do more of what the others weren't? Are these award shows more of a demonstration of who was more willing to swear their fealty to the enemy ahead of the rest? I'm not saying the Tom Hanks doesn't have talent, or that his movies haven't had an impact on the lives of millions of people. What I'm getting at, is, Tom Hanks is a prime example of the lengths that a person is willing to go to in order to sell their grace in exchange for misleading people into a displacement from God.
I know, it's out there. But we're talking good v Evil, right?
