Prior Maintenance test pilot here. It's possible, but it would be the worst attempt at an autorotate that I've seen, but a lot of pilots don't get training in them. Bell jet ranger will auto between 45kts to around 80. the apache would auto between 90-120. rate of decent was around 1500 - 3000. loss of forward airspeed is the death sentence when the engine is off

loss of tail rotor and he let the speed drop to the point where the main rotor torque caused the aircraft to turn other potential is loss of main transmission. the ONE item that could lead to loss of both engines would be bad/lack of fuel which is unlikely
