I only know it from the old hymn, "Church in the Wildwood", but am a southern anon with a big pile of southern family on all sides, so that probably accounts for that. Like, my grandparents met and were later married at a camp meeting :)

Precious memories, how they linger :)

Not a single one of those is any sort of economic indicator.

I'll tell you what they DO indicate:

American consumers are wising up to the poor quality products for sale at places like that.

Secondly, all had over-expanded. Consumer demand wasn't enough to support them.

Finally, Express and Gymboree, for their part, are part of the wretched Les Wexner Limited empire. There may be more in that article, but who cares if Wexner takes a bath?

CSPAN's weekend American History TV aired a feature piece about the Delaware Crossing reenactment recently.

The entire event is done very carefully and well.

The reenactor portraying Washington told an extraordinary story about one year when they held the entire event in a snowstorm. Said they got the boats out in the middle of the river, and couldn't even see the shore on either side.
