Islamic State child soldier executes Nigerian Christian on video

A Nigerian Christian man who was executed on video by a child soldier of the Islamic State has been identified as college student Ropvil Daciya Dalep, 22.

Dalep was returning to the University of Maiduguri in Borno state from Christmas break when he was kidnapped by the Islamic State West Africa Province on January 9, according to the non-profit organization Christian Solidarity Worldwide.

Roughly two weeks later, a video surfaced showing a masked child around the age of 8 years old standing behind Dalep, who was kneeling in the dirt with his hands tied behind his back.

"This is one of the Christians from Plateau state," the boy said in Hausa, the major language in Northern Nigeria. "We want to tell all Christians that we have not forgotten what you did to our parents and grandparents. Christians all over the world must know that we will never forget their atrocities against us, until we avenge the bloodshed visited on us."

CIA and the Wars in Southeast Asia, 1947–75

Purpose. This digitally interactive and hyperlinked DoD-logo.jpganthology was prepared as a contribution to Department of Defense-led interagency efforts to commemorate the passing of 50 years since the large-scale engagement of the military forces of the United States and other countries in defending the Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam) against communist guerrilla, mainforce, and North Vietnamese Army units. For CIA, and many members of the US military, engagement in South Vietnam began well before what is marked as the beginning of the 50th anniversary commemoration, 1965. As the 41 articles selected by CIA historian Clayton Laurie for this anthology will show, Southeast Asia was the focus of CIA activity as long ago as the early 1950s, when it was directed to provide support to French efforts to maintain control of its colony of Indochina.

Chinese coronavirus will bring jobs back to America, US commerce secretary says

President Donald Trump campaigned on a promise to bring jobs back to the United States. According to Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, the outbreak of the deadly Wuhan coronavirus might help him fulfil that pledge.

Since it first infected customers at an animal market in the city of Wuhan in December, the SARS-like coronavirus has killed at least 170 people, infected nearly 8,000 people, and spread to every region in China and 19 other countries.

But to US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, there’s an upside.

Speaking on Fox Business on Thursday, Ross said that while he doesn’t want to take “a victory lap over a very unfortunate, very malignant disease,” the outbreak will “help to accelerate the return of jobs to North America, some to US, probably some to Mexico as well.”

The disease, he said, gives businesses “yet another thing to consider when they go through their review of their supply chain… It’s another risk factor that people need to take into account.”

Russia closes its Far East border with China in attempt to prevent spread of new coronavirus

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has signed an order to close the country's border with China in the Far East, Russia's largest and most remote region.

It follows instructions from Vladimir Putin on Wednesday for officials to do all they can to prevent the spread of the dangerous new Chinese coronavirus.

In addition, Mishustin instructed Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova to provide the public with daily updates about the status of coronavirus in Russia. So far, the country has no confirmed cases.

“An order has been signed today, it has become operational,” Mishustin told ministers in Moscow.

We will inform everyone today of the relevant measures to close the border in the Far East region and other measures the government has taken [to prevent the spread of coronavirus in Russia].

In another move, Moscow has temporarily suspended the issuing of electronic visas to Chinese citizens, the Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday afternoon. It will apply to border checkpoints in the Far East and Kaliningrad, as well as all entry points in the Leningrad region and St Petersburg. Furthermore, it advised Russian travelers to avoid all trips to China, unless they are absolutely vital.

How the US government created a myth that took over the world.

UFOs: weapons of mass deception… For over 60 years teams within the US Air Force and Intelligence services exploited and manipulated beliefs about UFOs and ET visitations as part of their counterintelligence programmes. In doing so they spawned a mythology so powerful that it captivated and warped many brilliant minds, including several of their own. Now, for the first time, some of those behind these operations, and their victims, speak out, revealing a true story that is part Manchurian Candidate and part Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

"This is an incredible story about deception and tomfoolery in high places. The filmmakers have uncovered a tale that tells us that everything we thought we knew about UFOs is wrong. And the truth - the true truth - is much more interesting."

House Climate Chair Calls For Google To Censor ‘Climate Deniers’

Shame on Rep. Kathy Castor (D-FL), who is chairperson of the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis. She demands that Google censor videos that promote “climate denial and climate misinformation.” What happened to the First Amendment, Kathy? ⁃ TN Editor

The chair of the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis was accused Wednesday of censorship after calling on Google to take action against YouTube videos that promote “climate denial and climate misinformation.”

Rep. Kathy Castor, Florida Democrat, asked Google in a Monday letter to remove “climate disinformation videos” from YouTube’s “recommendation algorithm,” demonetize videos that promote “harmful misinformation,” and correct the record for those exposed to such “misinformation.”

“YouTube has been driving millions of viewers to climate misinformation videos every day, a shocking revelation that runs contrary to Google’s important missions of fighting misinformation and promoting climate action,” said Ms. Castor, who requested a response by Feb. 7.

Snakes In Suits: Are Psychopaths Running The World?

Often when we think of the word psychopath, we think of deranged serial killers that are hopefully locked up in prison for life. While there are many psychopaths who kill for reasons that are unfathomable to most of us and who are indeed in prison, there is an even greater number roaming free in our society and often using their condition to their advantage in any way possible. In fact, it is very likely that you know some–they might even be your colleagues.

Most of us do not know or work with any serial killers, at least not that we are aware of. So, what exactly is a psychopath and how can we define them? The dictionary definition is as follows:

“A person suffering from a chronic mental disorder with abnormal or violent social behavior.”

As you can probably tell, a lot more than just serial killers will fit into this broad definition. In fact, according to Canadian psychologist Dr. Robert Hare, a world-renowned expert on psychopathy, an estimated 1% of the Earth’s population is psychopathic and around 25% of the population of male inmates at federal correctional facilities are psychopathic.

The Medical Iron Triangle Strikes Again..We don't spent over 3 TRILLION dollars a year on Pharmaceuticals for nothing ya know

William Kissick and The Iron Triangle of Health Economics

A Policy Expert Who Played a Key Role in Shaping LDI

Famed for his "Iron Triangle" theory of health economics, University of Pennsylvania Professor William Kissick was a larger-than-life figure who played a major role in both early federal Medicare policy-making and in shaping Penn's Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics (LDI), the first academic center dedicated to multidisciplinary health economics and policy research.

"He was like Forrest Gump or Woody Allen's Zelig," remembered Professor Arnold Rosoff of the Wharton School. Rosoff was one of many University of Pennsylvania faculty members who worked with Kissick, who retired in 2001 after 32 years of teaching as a professor in three separate health-related Penn Schools. Kissick died in 2013.

"He seemed always to have been in the thick of the action when something big happened," said Rosoff, "Mention a significant milestone in the evolution of the U.S. health care system and Kissick was there – in the second row of the crowd, standing close behind Wilbur Cohen and LBJ when Medicare was signed, for example. He was clearly made of the stuff that Tom Brokaw styled as 'the greatest generation.'"

U.K. Police Will Soon be able to Search Through U.S. Data Without Asking a Judge

Law enforcement officials in the U.S. and U.K. have negotiated a deal that sells out the privacy rights of the public in both nations. For Americans, it will effectively abrogate Fourth Amendment protections, and subject their data to search and seizure by foreign police.

This is all going to start happening in a few months—unless Congress does something to stop it now. That’s why we’re launching an action today, asking you to reach out to your members of Congress and tell them to introduce a joint resolution that could put a halt to the deal. If it isn’t stopped, the worst parts of this deal will likely come standard on future agreements, and Americans will be subject to more and more searches by foreign police.

The full text of the U.S.-U.K. Cloud Act Agreement was unveiled in November, and it’s just as bad as we thought it would be. We joined with 19 other privacy, civil liberties, and human rights organizations, and sent a letter to Congress going through the long list of problems with the first Cloud Act deal.

Some of the key problems with the U.S.-U.K. Agreement include:

The agreement includes a weak standard for review, that doesn’t meet the 4th Amendment’s warrant requirement

There’s no prior judicial authorization required

The deal includes no safeguards for free expression

The people put under surveillance don’t need to be notified, on any level

The “minimization” procedures meant to protect U.S. persons are unfair, unequal, and won’t do the job

It will grant real-time access to communications, allowing foreign police to wiretap Americans’ conversations, ignoring the high requirements for a wiretap under U.S. law

Are Virginia Politicians Seriously Proposing A Bill That Makes It ILLEGAL to Criticize Them?

There’s a very good reason that Virginia wants to disarm civilians with a rash of new, unconstitutional laws. That’s because they seem to be modeling themselves after one of those countries where the government cannot be publicly criticized without great risk to the critic.

Yet another new bill is on the table and this one criminalizes criticism of certain government officials. The summary of HB1627, proposed by Delegate Jeffrey M. Bourne, reads:

Threats and harassment of certain officials and property; venue. Provides that certain crimes relating to threats and harassment may be prosecuted in the City of Richmond if the victim is the Governor, Governor-elect, Lieutenant Governor, Lieutenant Governor-elect, Attorney General, or Attorney General-elect, a member or employee of the General Assembly, a justice of the Supreme Court of Virginia, or a judge of the Court of Appeals of Virginia. In addition, threats to damage property may be prosecuted in the City of Richmond if the property is owned by the Commonwealth and located in the Capitol District. (source)

Oh, muffin. Are the people you’re oppressing been hurting your feelings? Then, by all means, while you’re actively trying to dismantle the Second Amendment, you should pass another unconstitutional law to attack the First Amendment.

Longest-Ever Underground Drug-Smuggling Tunnel Found in San Diego

The border patrol recently discovered the longest-ever drug-smuggling tunnel along the southern border, stretching approximately three-quarters of a mile between San Diego and Tijuana, according to local news outlet Q13 Fox.

The tunnel measures 4,039 feet in length, and is about 5 feet tall and two feet wide. It originates in Tijuana just 250 feet away from the border, before ending deep inside San Diego County. The tunnel, which includes air conditioning, electricity, a rail system, and elevators, was discovered by Customs and Border Protection agents.

DEA Special Agent in Charge John Callery released a statement on the discovery of the tunnel. While he admitted that “the sophistication of this tunnel demonstrates the determination and monetary resources of the cartels,” he said that “the DEA and our partners on the Tunnel Task Force will continue to use our resources to ensure they fail.”
