Republican Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert was indicted on federal charges of structuring bank withdrawals after prosecutors alleged Hastert had molested at least four boys as young as 14 and attempted to compensate his victims and subsequently conceal the transactions. Hastert eventually admitted that he sexually abused the boys whom he had coached decades earlier, and was sentenced to fifteen months in prison.
Republican Tim Nolan, chairman of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign in Kentucky, pled guilty to child sex trafficking and on February 11, 2018 he was sentenced to serve 20 years in prison.
Republican state Senator Ralph Shortey was indicted on four counts of human trafficking and child pornography. In November 2017, he pleaded guilty to one count of child sex trafficking in exchange for the dropping of the other charges.
Republican anti-abortion activist Howard Scott Heldreth is a convicted child rapist in Florida.
Republican County Commissioner David Swartz pleaded guilty to molesting two girls under the age of 11 and was sentenced to 8 years in prison.

Sheriff issues warning after San Francisco paper demands list of every concealed carry permit holder
SAN FRANCISCO, CA- The San Francisco Chronicle recently put in a public records request for information on concealed carry weapons permit and the Sutter County Sheriff is letting concealed carry permit holders know about it.
Sheriff Brandon Barnes told CBS13 that he had “personally” declined to release much of the information which was requested, however was advised by county attorneys to provide some data. Permit numbers, names of permit holders and dates of issue and expiration were issued.
In a Facebook post, Sheriff Barnes attached a copy of the letter being sent to all CCW holders and said:
“The Sheriff’s Office recently receive a public records request regarding CCW applicant information. The attached letter was authored yesterday and is being mailed to our CCW holders.
I am posting this on social media to be transparent and inform the public regarding this issue. If you are a CCW holder, you will be receiving a copy of this letter in the coming weeks.”

As of January 26, 2020, the United States Senate has confirmed 187 Article III judges nominated by President Trump, including 2 Associate Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States, 50 judges for the United States Courts of Appeals, 133 judges for the United States District Courts, and 2 judges for the United States Court of International Trade.[2] There are currently 18 nominations to Article III courts awaiting Senate action, including 1 for the Courts of Appeals, 16 for the District Courts and 1 for the Court of International Trade.[3] There is currently 1 vacancy on the U.S. Courts of Appeals, 71 vacancies on the U.S. District Courts, 2 vacancies on the U.S. Court of International Trade,[3] and 8 announced federal judicial vacancies that will occur before the end of Trump's first term (1 for the Courts of Appeals and 7 for District Courts).[4] Trump has not made any recess appointments to the federal courts.
