Graham: There Are ’53 Republican Votes to Call Hunter Biden’

 

While speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) stated that if witnesses are called in the Senate’s impeachment trial, there will be 53 Republican votes in favor of calling 2020 Democratic presidential candidate former Vice President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter as a witness in the trial.

 

Graham said, “If there’s going to be one witness, there will be more. And there’s 53 Republican votes to call Hunter Biden, not 51, not 52. Because all of us believe that if this trial goes on, Hunter Biden is a very relevant witness.”

Hardly an “isolated incident,” Col. Mark McDonough, commissioner of the Department of Public Safety and head of GSP, said the entire class of students with the 106th trooper school is no longer after they cheated during an online test for speed detection in October of 2019.

 

Let that sink in. The entire class conspired to cheat on exams to become cops. Every single one of them was okay with fraudulently achieving their police status through conspiracy and cheating.

 

“It’s a punch in the gut,” McDonough told reporters Wednesday. “This goes to our very core values.”

 

According to the report, top DSP officials learned about the scandal from the girlfriend of one of the cadets, Demon Clark. The girlfriend told officials that she was the one who took the test for her cop boyfriend because he was apparently too ignorant to pass it. When officials asked Clark about the cheating, he was quick to rollover on his fellow brothers in blue, telling his superiors “he was not the only one who cheated, the whole class cheated.”

 

After snitching on fellow classmates, an investigation was launched and the true scope of the cheating scandal was discovered.

According to the Department of Public Safety, during the investigation each cadet described the way they cheated and helped each other with the online exam. Investigators also found that the cadets used Snapchat, group messages and Google to find and share test answers.

 

The actions violated the department’s code of conduct policy and the decision to fire those involved was made after the investigation concluded Wednesday morning. Thirty-two were fired; one cadet resigned. The GSP is now trying to figure out how to deal with the loss of officers.

 

“The impact on average can be three or four troopers per region. When you look at the size of the region, for instance, Troop I on the coast, that’s pretty much the whole coastal 100-plus miles and then inland.” McDonough said. “You take three or four troopers … off the road and you see the distance of the interstate, they’re not being there can have an impact.”

 

With troopers like these, however, the public is likely better served without them on the force. Nevertheless, before they were all fired, the troopers were placed in 52 assignments across the state and began carrying out their duties of extorting drivers for speeding.

 

According to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, the group had written a total of 133 speeding tickets since they graduated. McDonough said that information has been supplied to courts across the state, with the expectation that most of those violations will be dismissed.

Nephew of Mexican Cartel Lord Behind DEA Agent Kiki Camarena’s Murder Arrested, Faces U.S. Extradition

 

Mexican authorities arrested a nephew of Rafael Caro Quintero, the drug lord behind the 1985 murder of DEA Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena. The arrest came hours after three Sinaloa Cartel members facing extradition to the U.S. escaped a Mexico City prison.

 

On Wednesday afternoon, Mexico’s Attorney General announced the arrest of Ismael Quintero Arellanes, Caro Quintero’s nephew, during a joint military operation.

 

A squad of Mexican Navy and Army tactical teams surrounded homes in the Paseo Toscano neighborhood in Culiacan, Sinaloa. They moved in to one and arrested Quintero Arellanes, who is wanted on various drug trafficking charges in the Eastern District of New York.

 

The arrest was performed without a confrontation, authorities say, and featured a helicopter to move Quintero Arellanes to a Mexico City prison pending his extradition to New York. Quintero Arellano is described by authorities as a top operator for a criminal organization led by his uncle, Caro Quintero.

 

Caro Quintero started the Guadalajara Cartel, an organization from which others like the Sinaloa Cartel originate. Authorities arrested Caro Quintero in 1985 for ordering the murder of Kiki Camarena. Soon after, a Mexican court convicted him. In 2013, a Mexican federal judge ordered his release before the U.S. could prepare extradition.

 

The operation targeting Arellanes Quintero comes hours after three top Sinaloa Cartel operators escaped from a prison in Mexico City. The trio was being held for extradition to the U.S. on various drug trafficking charges.

Migrants from 41 Nations Apprehended in Texas near Border Since New Fiscal Year

 

Border Patrol agents in the Del Rio and El Paso Sectors continue to apprehend migrants from a wide variety of nations after they illegally cross the border from Mexico.

 

The Del Rio Sector reports the apprehension of migrants from 41 countries like Brazil, Haiti, and China since the new fiscal year began on October 1, 2019.

 

“Del Rio Sector continues to arrest individuals from around the world,” Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Raul L. Ortiz said in a written statement. “So far this year, the men and women of Del Rio Sector have arrested people from 41 different countries. Del Rio Sector has coordinated with local hospitals and contract medical professionals to be prepared to process and manage these detainees safely.”

 

On January 28, Del Rio Sector agents from multiple stations apprehended 17 Haitian migrants, 17 from Honduras, and three from Brazil. Two days earlier, agents arrested a Chinese national after he attempted to run from a vehicle that led agents on a pursuit.

 

Over the weekend, agents disrupted 10 human smuggling attempts and arrested 11 human smugglers and 33 migrants from Ecuador, China, Guatemala, and Mexico.

 

Officials state that since October 1, Del Rio Sector agents apprehended more than 130 migrants from Brazil, more than 700 Haitians, more than 3,500 Hondurans, and 30 people from China. To put that in perspective, during Fiscal Year 2019, Del Rio Sector agents only apprehended six Chinese nationals for the entire year.

 

Elsewhere along the Texas border with Mexico, El Paso Sector agents apprehended a Cuban migrant on July 24 who jumped out of a vehicle being pursued by law enforcement in the El Paso area. The Chinese illegal alien attempted to hide in a residence.

 

Agents patrolling near Fabens, Texas, arrested a group of people after they illegally crossed the border into the U.S. After searching the crossing area, agents arrested four people attempting to hide in heavy brush, according to El Paso Sector officials.

 

The agents found the migrants and placed them under arrest. They identified two as Mexican nationals, the other two presented Turkish passports, officials stated. The agents transported the four migrants to the Clint Border Patrol Station for processing.

 

“Human smugglers continue to show disregard for the safety and well-being of the people they are smuggling,” El Paso Sector officials said in a written statement. “On many occasions, the smuggling attempts involve life-threatening methods.”

 

On January 21, Laredo Sector agents found a group of 63 migrants locked inside a tractor-trailer. Those arrested include migrants from Brazil, China, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Nicaragua.

Do you know all the words to “The Star-Spangled Banner”? Many people have difficulty memorizing the lyrics of the first verse of this song, which is commonly performed at sports events and other public gatherings. But did you know that there are three additional verses that we almost never hear?

How did the “Star-Spangled Banner” become the US National Anthem?

 

In 1814, the poet and lyricist Francis Scott Key penned the lyrics to “The Star-Spangled Banner,” originally known as “Defense of Fort M’Henry.” During the War of 1812, Key witnessed the attacks on Baltimore and wrote the words based on his experiences this night. These lyrics were printed in local newspapers and set to the tune of an existing song called “Anacreon in Heaven,” and then officially arranged by John Philip Sousa. Key’s famous lyrics entered the world as a broadside ballad, or a song written on a topical subject, and printed for wide distribution.

 

More than a century later, in 1916, President Woodrow Wilson signed an executive order designating “The Star-Spangled Banner” as the national anthem, and in 1931, the US Congress confirmed the decision. The tune has kicked off ceremonies of national importance and athletic events ever since.

How does that make sense. It doesn't.

 

Of course they block IP ranges when necessary to mitigate DDoS attacks. Standard procedure employed by many websites. But downloading the same image, from the same IP address on my end, two different ways, a few seconds or minutes apart, should produce identical results. Either the whole image is there,

or it isn't.

 

Downloading just 1.4 kb of an image is not correct. There is still a bug or anomaly, that needs fixed. I'm not in a position to debug it but I can accurately report symptoms.

Cop Accused Of Rape. His Colleagues Help Destroy Him.

 

A North Carolina cop was dubiously accused of sexually assaulting a woman while on patrol. His dashboard camera proved the assault didn’t take place, yet his colleagues claimed there was enough evidence for a warrant and investigated him. Now he’s suing for defamation.

Donald Ray Richardson, a former Alcohol Law Enforcement agent, says in his lawsuit (reviewed by The News & Observer) that he was targeted by his fellow police officers because he stepped outside his lane to investigate threats sent to the CEO of Bank of America. The CEO had been sent a letter by a man claiming he would “team with ISIS” to hurt him unless his credit card limit was increased. Richardson followed a tip and arrested the man who sent the letter.

This, Richardson says in his lawsuit, angered State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) director Robert Schurmeier. The Observer reported that Schurmeier allegedly became angry at Richardson for taking the case of the threatening letter. When a woman accused Richardson of kidnapping and raping her two weeks later, the former officer says Schurmeier and the SBI used the case to get back at him.

The woman claimed Richardson kidnapped and raped her at a gas station in Durham, North Carolina after he and other ALE officers searched her car. Video from the vehicle search showed no attack occurred, yet an internal investigation led to Richardson being suspended without pay and forced to never work in Durham again.

The warrant used against Richardson included a false claim from a Durham police officer who said he saw video of the attack, even though the video refuted the accuser’s story. SBI directors also saw the video and the warrant application and knew the information was false, yet continued their investigation against Richardson.

“In 2018 the state Office of Administrative Hearings ruled that the SBI had likely violated his constitutional rights as well as their own agency policies by suspending Richardson following a flawed internal investigation,” the Observer reported.

Israeli occupation forces in Jerusalem have shut off access to the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and the Old Jerusalem area this afternoon, further increasing tensions in the city amid the proposed ‘peace plan’ offered to the Palestinians by the US and Israel.

 

According to an official source from Jerusalem’s Islamic Endowments Department (Waqf) who informed Palestine’s Ma’an News Agency, the Israeli authorities closed all of the doors to the compound while preventing anyone from entering or exiting it.

 

Accounts from eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the occupation forces detained two young Palestinian men at the compound and took them to the Bab al-Silsila police station, adding that they were severely beaten by the police while walking around the Al-Aqsa compound.

 

Raids, closures, and arrests in the Islamic religious site in Jerusalem by the Israeli authorities are an extremely common occurrence, with the added invasion of the compound by Jewish settlers making it difficult for Muslim and Palestinian worshippers to fully access the compound at times.

 

Last week alone saw cases of occupation forces storming the Al-Aqsa compound, arresting four Palestinian worshippers, banningthe Imam of the Mosque, and Jewish settlers setting Palestinian mosques and churches on fire – all separate incidents.

House Plans Votes to Rein in Iran War on Thursday

 

Bills will apply amendments to a commemorative coin vote

 

Two measures aimed at preventing President Trump from unilaterally attacking Iran without Congressional authorization are to be considered Thursday by the House of Representatives. The measures had their start in the 2020 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), though both were stripped out of that by the Senate.

 

The first measure explicitly bars any funding to an Iran War unless Congress first approves of the conflict. Legally this is supposed to be the case anyhow, but in recent administrations, presidents claim to be able to start wars without direct Congressional authorization.

 

The second measure would repeal the 2002 Authorization for the Use of Military Force against Iraq (AUMF). The AUMF was passed to invade Saddam Hussein’s Iraq, and with that government long gone, its only value is that some officials argue it provides legal cover for anything the president does in Iraq and potentially in Iran and Syria, since they are close to Iraq.

 

While the White House has threatened to veto both measures, President Trump suggested he had no opposition to the AUMF repeal on Twitter, saying troops in Iraq are “down to 5000 soldiers and going down” and saying everyone should “vote their HEART!”

 

House Republicans are complaining that the votes are a trick, because they are adding amendments to the Merchant Mariners of World War II Congressional Gold Medal Act, which authorizes the minting of a single medal to give to the Merchant Marine museum.

 

Tacking the bills on as amendments to another bill prevents them from being amended themselves. House Republicans complained this was dangerous and unprecedented, while Democrats noted that both the House and Senate do this all the time and there is plenty of precedent.

US Announces Three New Bases in Iraq After Iraqis Demand Full Withdrawal

 

Less than a week after millions of Iraqis took to the streets demanding the U.S. military leave for good, the United States announced that is planning to build three new military bases in Iraq, according to military news service Breaking Defense. The three sites chosen – Erbin, Sulimania and Halabja – are all extremely close to Iran, with Halabja (the site of the 1988 chemical weapons attack) just eight miles from the border.

 

The news will come as a shock to the Iraqi parliament, who earlier this month voted overwhelmingly (with some abstentions) to expel American forces from the country. But the U.S. government has flatly refused to leave. “At this time, any delegation sent to Iraq would be dedicated to discussing how to best recommit to our strategic partnership — not to discuss troop withdrawal, but our right, appropriate force posture in the Middle East,” said State Department spokesperson Morgan Ortagus, adding, “We strongly urge Iraqi leaders to reconsider the importance of the ongoing economic and security relationship between the two countries… We believe it is in the shared interests of the United States and Iraq to continue fighting ISIS together.” Earlier this month the U.S. decided to send an extra 3,000 troops to the region.

 

President Trump responded by threatening sweeping mass punishments against the Iraqi people. “We’re not leaving unless they pay us back for it…If they do ask us to leave, if we don’t do it in a very friendly basis, we will charge them sanctions like they’ve never seen before ever,” he said. U.S.-led sanctions on Iraq in the 1990s are thought to have killed over one million people, including over half a million young children. Successive U.N. diplomats in charge of Iraq during the sanctions denounced them as genocide against its people. Trump said his sanctions would make the ones on Iran look tame by comparison.

 

“If there’s any hostility,” he said, “we are going to put sanctions on Iraq, very big sanctions.” Trump also threatened to commit genocide against the people of Iran, destroying their cultural heritage sites in a move condemned by many and compared to the Taliban’s destruction of the world-renowned Buddhas of Bamyan in Afghanistan. Despite the president’s threats, enormous numbers of Iraqis heeded Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr’s call for a “million man march” in Baghdad last week. While Time magazine claimed there were only “hundreds” in attendance, drone footage told a very different story. Some estimates put the total at over 2.5 million. And despite Bloomberg Quick Take originally claiming that they were “anti-government demonstrations,” the huge banner on the main stage reading “GET OUT AMERICA” in uppercase English letters suggested otherwise.

Jared Kushner taunts Palestinians because he wants them to reject his ‘peace plan’

 

It is true that Jared Kushner’s father had to give Harvard a $2.5 million bribe to get him admitted there, but the younger Kushner isn’t actually stupid. The internet is abuzz with comment about Kushner’s interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, during which he disrespects Palestinians. As one commenter noted acidly on Twitter: “How to Negotiate A Peace Plan Step #1: Insult One of the Parties.”

 

In fact, Kushner is deliberately taunting the Palestinians because he wants them to reject the Trump/Netanyahu “peace plan.” In the interview, which has already been seen 1.9 million times, Kushner first says that the Palestinians “have a perfect track record of missing opportunities,” followed by a smirk. Then, a couple minutes later in case we missed the point, he repeats “ . . . they’ve screwed up every other opportunity that they’ve had in their existence.”

 

Kushner’s gibe is not original. Back in 1973, Abba Eban, the longtime Israeli foreign minister, said, “The Arabs never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.” The insult has been a staple of Zionist discourse ever since, although it sounded more convincing in Eban’s cultured British South African voice than in Kushner’s monotonous flat tone. Maybe Kushner came across it in one of those 25 books he said he read to prepare his “peace agreement.”

 

If Kushner really wanted to reach a deal, he wouldn’t talk that way. But there’s a clue to his true intention, uncovered by Dylan Williams of J Street. It turns out that Kushner copied parts of his proposal nearly word for word from a book “by” Benjamin Netanyahu — a man who surely has never wanted to genuinely negotiate with the Palestinians.

 

Once again, you can skip right past the New York Times and go straight to the independent Israeli newspaper Haaretz for the real explanation. Amir Tibon, a 31-year-old Israeli journalist, is not afraid to state squarely that the Trump/Netanyahu annexation plan “was written with the clear intention of getting the Palestinians to reject it.” The scheme’s real aim, Tibon says, “will lead to Israel gradually taking control over the entire West Bank.”

 

So Jared Kushner’s anti-Palestinian nastiness is not an accident or a blunder. It’s just part of the annexation plan.

Convicted Child Molester Let Out Of Prison Because They’re Transgender, No Longer A Threat, Government Says

 

A convicted sex offender is being let out of prison in Iowa because they identify as a woman and the Iowa Attorney General’s Office says that the transgender criminal is no longer a threat because they have different hormones.

The Storm Lake Times reported that Joseph Matthew Smith, a 23-year-old convicted of molesting a fellow MCS student in 2014, also molested up to 15 kids, according to a report prepared by the state.

“A preliminary report prepared by the state’s expert, Dr. Jeffrey Davis, says Smith molested as many as 15 victims, ranging from ages 1 to 13, before being sentenced to prison in December 2015,” The Storm Lake Times reported. “The report found the likelihood of re-offending within five years of release exceeded 20% because victims were of both genders, and because Smith was under age 25 and never had a long-term relationship.”

“Mr. Smith has not had an intimate relationship,” the government report stated. “His sexual encounters appear to have primarily involved molestation, including his own molestation by multiple perpetrators, or his victimization of others.”

“The Iowa Sex Offender Registry shows Smith was convicted of 2nd degree sexual abuse against a female victim in 2012, and lascivious acts with a child against a male victim in 2014,” The Blaze reported. “The registry does not give the victim’s ages; they are listed as children under the age of 13.”

 

Smith received transgender treatment for the last two years at Newton Correctional Facility and started using female pronouns.

“We don’t believe we have evidence sufficient to prove Josie Smith has a significant chance of reoffending,” Iowa AG spokesman Lynn Hicks said. “Josie Smith will be subject to strict sex-offender reporting required of those who commit the crimes [they] did. [They’ll] be subject to supervision for the rest of [their] life.”

 

“The report recommended Smith be confined at the Cherokee Civil Commitment Unit for Sex Offenders (CCUSO) in Cherokee for an indefinite period,” The Storm Lake Times added. “But it was premised upon Smith having the sex drive of a man.”

‘There is no occupation’: US compares its military in Germany to Israel in Palestine

 

Israeli soldiers patrolling a future Palestinian state should not be considered occupying powers, according to David Friedman.

 

The US ambassador to Israel, who is closely aligned to the Israeli settlement enterprise, suggested that US troops patrolling cities is various parts of the world were no different to Israeli troops walking the streets of Palestine.

 

“The United States has military presence all over the world. We have presence in Germany, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, I mean…none of those countries consider themselves occupied by the United States and certainly don’t consider ourselves to be occupiers,” said Friedman.

 

Friedman made the remarks during a briefing to reporters around the globe, including in Brussels, over the phone, during which he rejected any notion that Israel’s security dominance in the envisaged Palestinian state under President Donald Trump’s so-called “deal of the century” is tantamount to occupation.

 

The former bankruptcy lawyer is one of the main architects of the so called “peace plan” which many have dismissed as an “apartheid plan”. Nevertheless, Friedman has defended the proposal and has not minced his words about wanting to help Israel in annexing the West Bank.

 

After recognising Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and Israel’s sovereignty over the occupied Golan Heights, the next step was to annex the West Bank, Friedman said earlier this month.

 

The plan, which has been rejected by the Palestinians over its failure to guarantee even the most basic rights agreed upon by the international community, was unveiled on Tuesday by President Donald Trump with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu flanked by his side.

 

China has also come out in opposition to the plan insisting that the United Nations resolutions, the two-state solution, the principle of land for peace and other internationally backed measures form the basis for resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

 

After the launch, Friedman met with a group of more than 20 Jewish and Evangelical leaders for an off-the-record briefing, according to the Times of Israel.

 

He is said to have told the gathering of American Jewish and Christian Evangelical leaders, many of whom subscribe to messianic ideas about creating a greater Israel, that it would take a long time for a Palestinian state to emerge under the White House’s Middle East peace plan.

 

Palestinian Ambassador to the UK Husam Zomlot dismissed the plan on the BBC saying that it’s true aim was to satisfy the fantasies of zealots and religious fundamentalist that wish for a greater Israel while trampling on human rights, democracy and international law.

The former first lady was spotted having dinner with a group of five others, including Kathleen Biden, at the recently opened Brasserie Liberté, The Hill reports.

 

The group was seen dining at the Georgetown hotspot for roughly three hours, the report says. Obama was wearing a black button-down shirt and jeans.

 

Hunter and Kathleen Biden divorced in 2017 after a 22-year marriage that produced two daughters.

 

During their split and its aftermath, Kathleen leaned on Michelle Obama for support. The two have been friends since Joe Biden joined her husband’s presidential ticket in 2008 and often spend time together going to SoulCycle or on family trips.

 

The same year as the split, in which Kathleen accused her ex in divorce papers of blowing family funds on drugs and prostitutes, Hunter began dating his widowed sister-in-law Hallie Biden, who lost her husband Beau to brain cancer in 2015, as first reported by Page Six.

 

Hunter and Hallie dated for about two years before splitting in early 2019.

Recently, Biden has been caught up in a court battle over unpaid child support for a baby he fathered with ex-stripper Lunden Alexis Roberts.

 

Roberts filed a suit against Hunter in November after he denied being the father of their child, born August 2018, and subsequently declined to pay child support.

 

The two reached an out-of-court settlement that was filed Monday in which Biden agreed to retroactively pay child support going back to November 2018.

 

He has since gotten remarried, to a South African woman named Melissa Cohen, whom he wed just 10 days after meeting her. They are now expecting their first child together.

 

Hunter has since been a mainstay in the news in recent months because of his role as a board member for Ukrainian energy company Burisma while his father Joe served as Vice President.

That involvement with Burisma has placed Hunter and his presidential candidate father in the center of the impeachment inquiry of President Trump.

 

Democrats have accused Trump of committing a quid pro quo by requesting that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky launch an investigation into the Bidens while withholding $400 million in aid to the country.

 

Republicans, meanwhile, argue that allegations against the Bidens were damning enough to merit the president asking for a probe, regardless of Joe’s candidacy for president.

 

Hunter has been accused of profiting off of his father’s government role and vice-presidential status by earning tens of thousands of dollars per month to sit on a board for a corrupt company that he had no prior industry experience in.

 

A representative for Obama did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

Report Says That Drag Queen Story Hour Now Coming to Public School

 

Now firmly established in many public libraries across the nation, drag queen story hour is branching out to new territory: public school.

On Monday, New York Post Op-Ed editor Sohrab Ahmari posted a screenshot of an apparent notification to parents of children at Brooklyn’s Public School 118.

“In an effort to continue to strengthen and enhance inclusiveness and diversity in our school, the first grade will be taking part in a ‘Drag Queen Story Hour!'” the notification read.

Apparently, this is not the first time a drag queen has visited the school to read to young children.

The upcoming drag queen visit, slated for Feb. 24, will only be the latest in a series of drag queen interactions that has seemingly taken place over “years.”

“She will read to the students,” the post continued, referring to the male performer, “all while teaching into ideas of inclusiveness, gender fluidity and gender roles, family structures, acceptance, empathy, and individuality.”

For vulnerable kids, this is especially heinous.

For example, a young child from a broken home will likely have little grasp of the realities of functioning families by the first grade.

Unfortunately for any kids like this, they won’t have professional help, but a full-grown man in women’s clothing coming to teach them about “family structures.”

And parents will have to pay for the privilege.

The school is offering this in-house “field trip” for the low price of $6. After all, drag queens are adult entertainment workers who don’t perform for free.

Sheriff issues warning after San Francisco paper demands list of every concealed carry permit holder

 

SAN FRANCISCO, CA- The San Francisco Chronicle recently put in a public records request for information on concealed carry weapons permit and the Sutter County Sheriff is letting concealed carry permit holders know about it.

 

Sheriff Brandon Barnes told CBS13 that he had “personally” declined to release much of the information which was requested, however was advised by county attorneys to provide some data. Permit numbers, names of permit holders and dates of issue and expiration were issued.

 

In a Facebook post, Sheriff Barnes attached a copy of the letter being sent to all CCW holders and said:

 

“The Sheriff’s Office recently receive a public records request regarding CCW applicant information. The attached letter was authored yesterday and is being mailed to our CCW holders.

 

I am posting this on social media to be transparent and inform the public regarding this issue. If you are a CCW holder, you will be receiving a copy of this letter in the coming weeks.”

>Airman Mystery: Keith Keiffer’s Wife Claims He Made Up Attack In Sacramento

 

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Airman Keith Keiffer claimed to be a victim of a serious attack out of Sacramento, but now police are saying his story isn’t true.

 

His wife Shanika also told CBS13, her husband admitted he made the whole thing up. The investigation spanned more than 60 miles from Sacramento to Pine Grove.

Jackson Police Chief, Christopher Mynderup said it started with a Facebook post. “We created a bulletin asking for the public’s help,” he said. Police asked for help identifying a man who was found with a serious head injury.

 

“He didn’t’ know his name, he didn’t know where he was or how he obtained an injury he claimed to have had to his head,” said Mynderup.

 

Police later identify him as Keith Keiffer, 32, a U.S. Air Force Staff Sargent who was last stationed at Travis Air Force Base. Officials with Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota say he was on “permanent change of station” headed to their base.

 

“He told my officers he was a victim of a kidnapping,” said Chief Mynderup. “That he was held in a warehouse for several days.”

 

Keiffer told Police he was a victim of a serious crime took place in Sacramento, that’s when Sacramento Police got involved. “From what I understand there was no evidence from Sacramento Police this crime occurred,” said Chief Mynderup.

 

After a lengthy investigation from both departments, Sacramento and Jackson Police Departments say Keiffer’s story doesn’t add up.

 

“He was reaching out for help, and he felt like he didn’t have it,” said Mynderup.

 

Keiffer’s wife, Shanika Keiffer, claims her husband admitted he made up the whole story to get out of active duty.

 

“That was the only solution he could come up with, by making it seem like he was attacked,” said Shanika.

 

She even says he hit himself in the head with a rock to fake the attack.

 

CBS13 spoke with Keith Keiffer on the phone Wednesday afternoon. He denies telling his wife he lied, instead, saying he has little memory of the situation. He couldn’t speak further on the record after getting direction from Minot Air Force Base.

 

Meanwhile, the Jackson Police chief says this investigation took up dozens of hours of manpower.

 

“We are a very small agency in the foothills, it’s a huge drain,” Chief Mynderup said.

 

The Police Department is not pressing charges. “It would just be another huge drain on our resources,” he said.

 

Both Sacramento Police and Jackson Police Departments say they can’t prove Keiffer filed a false claim, and at this point, Keiffer still has a job. As of Wednesday evening, he was on his way back to the air force base in Minot, listed as “on leave.”

 

The air force base there released a statement to us about their investigation, and couldn’t speak about what Keiffer said happened. The statement says Sacramento Police are handling the investigation. But, Sacramento Police say their case is closed.

Fourteen U.S. states sue EPA for 'gutting' chemical plant safety protections

 

Fourteen U.S. states and Washington D.C. sued the Environmental Protection Agency on Wednesday to fight what they called the Trump administration’s effort to gut rules meant to improve safety at chemical plants and reduce the threat of accidents.

 

The states petitioned the federal appeals court in Washington to review an EPA rule finalized in December that rolls back amendments to the agency’s Risk Management Program regulations, known as the Chemical Disaster Rule.

 

Those amendments, enacted during the administration of President Barack Obama, required plant operators to take steps to reduce the threat of toxic chemicals being released.

The steps included greater use of outside audits, closer analysis of safety technology, and the imposition of stricter emergency preparedness requirements.

 

Led by New York, the states said the final EPA rule adopted last month lacks many of these protections.

 

“The Trump EPA is gutting critical safeguards against explosions, fires, poisonous gas releases, and other accidents at these facilities,” putting millions of people at risk, New York Attorney General Letitia James said in a statement.

 

An EPA spokeswoman declined to comment, saying the agency does not discuss pending litigation.

 

EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler said in November that eliminating the amendments would reduce “unnecessary regulatory burdens” for plant operators.

The Chemical Disaster Rule was adopted after a 2013 explosion at a Texas fertilizer plant killed 15 people.

 

Wednesday’s petition followed similar litigation against the EPA in December by 13 environmental and science organizations, and this month by the United Steelworkers.

Other states joining the petition were Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Wisconsin. The city of Philadelphia is also a plaintiff.

 

Most of the petitioners are led by Democrats or lean Democratic. Obama is a Democrat, while President Donald Trump is a Republican.

Often when we think of the word psychopath, we think of deranged serial killers that are hopefully locked up in prison for life. While there are many psychopaths who kill for reasons that are unfathomable to most of us and who are indeed in prison, there is an even greater number roaming free in our society and often using their condition to their advantage in any way possible. In fact, it is very likely that you know some–they might even be your colleagues.

 

Most of us do not know or work with any serial killers, at least not that we are aware of. So, what exactly is a psychopath and how can we define them? The dictionary definition is as follows:

 

“A person suffering from a chronic mental disorder with abnormal or violent social behavior.”

 

As you can probably tell, a lot more than just serial killers will fit into this broad definition. In fact, according to Canadian psychologist Dr. Robert Hare, a world-renowned expert on psychopathy, an estimated 1% of the Earth’s population is psychopathic and around 25% of the population of male inmates at federal correctional facilities are psychopathic.

American Airlines flight diverted to Jacksonville over ‘unruly passenger’

 

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – An American Airlines flight made an emergency landing Thursday in Jacksonville because of an unruly passenger, an airport spokesperson told News4Jax.

 

Flight 2796 departed Miami International Airport about 10:45 a.m. and headed for Chicago, according to the airline’s flight tracker. The flight was diverted to Jacksonville International Airport about 12:30 p.m.

 

A Jacksonville Aviation Authority spokesperson confirmed the flight made an unplanned landing in Jacksonville because of what he described as an “unruly passenger.” The passenger was removed from the flight.

 

As of 1 p.m., the plane was still in Jacksonville. It’s unclear when the flight will be allowed to continue to its final destination.

 

Few other details were immediately released.
