A friend and i were talking about neural implants and how Elon Musk announced he'd have Neuralink in people in a human this year. I remembered seeing patents for neural implants in animals dating back to the '70s so i did a search to find the patent and stumbled across a patent filed by Google for neural implants back in 1994, and expired today.

Coincidence that Elon brings this up today - the day the Google patent expired?
