>>8103488 Also read an account by Saburo Sakai, who was the Japanese pilot who survived WW2 with the most confirmed kills. He told of a bomber pilot (don't recall which make) who always talked about how much he would love to do a loop with the bomber, but it was considered impossible, and was forbidden anyway. That plane was hit, and the last thing the pilot did was do a loop as his craft burned. They claim that Russell did it (probably not), but that guy actually pulled it off before plunging into the sea.
