TL;DR Liu was supposed to be in place to tip the Mueller lawyers off as to what the DOJ was doing. liu got yanked at just the right time and was replaced by Shea, leaving the Mueller lawyers hanging out to dry.
Berman Jackson probably on the hook for allowing the questionable juror. Seems juror filled out her voir dire accurately and Stone's lawyer wanted to excuse her but Berman Jackson overruled. Berman Jackson will probably have to recuse or face a mistrial.
Liu and Berman Jackson were a tag team, it looks like.
