I watched some more of his stuff from around 2013 - 2016 and me thinks he may be part of all of this somehow.
Not sure in what capacity, but before he went on the lam he was trying to get attention drawn to him and his escapades (and vault 7) by being outlandish and entertaining.
Just a hunch, but after seeiong a number of interviews last night trying to catch up on his backstory, thats the vibe I'm getting.
