A running joke at a company that has commercials with Samuel L Jackson asking What's in your wallet:

• Any time a candidate with a Ph.D. on the resume comes in the interviewers take bets on how long the individual will last if hired

• It usually isn't long

• People that get PH.D.s are sometimes good at theory and research, depending on the university and the program

• Very rare do they operate well in the real world

• Better suited to the abstract

• Most want to argue from a position of authority which is funny to me, since wisdom comes from experience and learning from one's mistakes. Hard to do that when one deals in the abstract for a living.
