So…the 'sauce' for this is I work in an industry with close relationships with the airlines but the crew, not the political lawyers.
There is only one solution to the 737-Max debacle and it certainly doesn't involve finding debris. The problem started at the top - whoever it was who decided to take a small, existing platform design and slap on two over-size-for-the-platform engines and then try and have software written by non-pilots to force the plane to defy physics…that person or those people need to be eliminated from society one way or another; certainly someone should be jailed. Management "Knowingly" allowed a flawed design to go into service with the the deaths of hundreds the result of their hubris and greed.
Melt them all down, start from scratch with an engine/platform that match, and go forward from there.
Perhaps that's why a couple airlines I know well are going on a hiring spree as several different crew members from different airlines - and not new hires, either but those with seniority - that if they find out the plane they are supposed to be flying on one day is the 737-Max or whatever they change the name to, many crew will be 'sick' that day and if it repeats they will quite there job. Many will not fly on that plane…at least that is their feeling today. When it's one's job it's tough but I know that I'll never fly on one.
