I'm from there. Didn't like it much. I like to hike and explore though. All of the land in Texas is bought up. Very little public land. I found a littel honey hole up near Bangor in Washington. Across the water from Seattle and since it's all mil bases over here it's mostly Conservatives. Half this state is public land, close to a rain forest, and good hunting and fishing. I've traveled a lot but this place has it all. Highly recommend.
