A couple of years ago, the China boys made a brazen move to build a road in the Himalayas in no man's land, which if unchecked would have allowed them to seriously militarily threaten India. It was a test. The Indians responded instantly & magnificently, in the great tradition of the Indian Army–an impressive history of standing up & fighting like men when needed–just like Americans. Modi immediately started construction on a road from the Indian side, as a counter balance. The Chinese admitted defeat and withdrew. But they are still a lurking menace up there in Tibet & Kashmir. This move is win/win for US/India. The purchase of US military equipment is important, as is any mutual economic growth via pact. But the most important outcome is a united front vs. the Chinese. Whatever the hell is going on in China, they are up against it in multiple ways, and more dangerous than ever because of it.
