RR's sister is running a counter narrative to POTUS admin. The media is jumping on it.

 

"Earlier today Dr. Nancy Messonnier, an official in the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), held a conference call with media and pushed a panic narrative around the Coronvirus that ran counter to the Trump administration.

 

What makes the statements by Dr. Messonnier even more interesting is the fact she is the only sister of former DOJ Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

 

Dr. Messonnier, director of the CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (link) told reporters on the call:

"Now is the time for US businesses, hospitals, and communities to begin preparing for the possible spread of #COVID19," it wrote, referring to the name the World Health Organization has given the novel coronavirus. "CDC continues to work with business, education & healthcare sectors, encouraging employers to be prepared."

 

Messonnier said her agency wants people to understand their lives might be disrupted.

 

"We are asking the American public to work with us to prepare in the expectation that this could be bad," she said.

 

She said CDC officials have been saying for weeks that while they hope the spread won't be severe in the United States, they are planning as if it could be.

 

"The data over the last week, and the spread in other countries, has certainly raised our level of concern and raised our level of expectation" of community spread, she said.

 

The CDC still doesn't know what that will look like, she added. Community spread could be reasonably mild or very severe.

 

Americans should also talk to employers about working online and talk to doctor's offices about telehealth, the CDC says.

 

Messonnier said she talked her family and told them that while they are not at risk right now, they should plan for what to do if their lives were significanly impacted. She said she called the children's school district about what would happen if schools need to close.

The tactical success of the Turkish Army and Turkish-backed al-Qaeda groups in Nayrab in eastern Idlib turned to be a total disaster for Turkish-led forces in the southern part of the province.

Following the large gains on February 24, on February 25 Syrian government troops liberated the villages of Hass, Kafr Nabl, Bisaqla, Ba’rabu, Qiratah, Sahab, Qa’uri and Deir Sunbol. Kafr Nabl was the main strong point of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) in this part of the frontline. Its fall marks the collapse of the group’s defense in the area.

According to pro-government sources, in the coming days Syrian troops are planning to clear the area of Zawiyah Mountain and shorten the frontline on the administrative border between the provinces of Idlib and Lattakia. When this is done, the Syrian Army and its allies will be able to advance further towards the M4 highway.

Erdogan Forces Recaptured Nayrab, But Lost Another Dozen Of Villages To Syrian Army

On February 24 morning, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and other Idlib groups supported by the Turkish Army launched a new attempt to capture the village of Nayrab from the Syrian Army. Turkish-backed rebels bedecked with ISIS insignias once again reached the vicinity of the village, but were forced to retreat under strikes from the Syrian Army and the Russian Aerospace Forces. Pro-Turkish sources complained that ‘regime troops’ are using mines, road blocks, fortifications and even trenches to protect their positions. The devilry of the Assad regime has no bounds.

In the evening, Turkish-led forces carried out a second attack on Nayrab entering its eastern part and engaging army troops in a series of clashes. The fighting in the area continued overnight and by February 25 Idlib groups have established control of at least a half of the town. Pro-Turkish sources claim that entire Nayrab is in the hands of Turkish-led forces. Pro-government sources say that the lashes are ongoing.

SF Mayor London Breed declares state of emergency over coronavirus

 

Amid intensifying worldwide concern about the spread of the new coronavirus, Mayor London Breed declared a state of emergency for San Francisco Tuesday, which will ramp up the city’s efforts to prepare for and confront potential cases.

 

There have been no confirmed coronavirus cases in San Francisco to date, but as infections continue to rise across the world, “we need to allocate more resources to make sure we are prepared,” Breed said at a press conference announcing the emergency declaration.

 

“To be clear, this declaration of emergency is all about preparedness. By declaring a state of emergency we are prioritizing the safety of our communities by being prepared.”

 

Three people have been treated at San Francisco hospitals for coronavirus, two of which have been discharged, but to date no cases have originated inside the city.

 

Nine cases have been reported in the Bay Area: two from Santa Clara County residents who had traveled to Wuhan, China, the epicenter of the illness and seven people who were evacuated from a cruise ship docked in Japan. They were taken to Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield and later to Bay Area hospitals for treatment.

 

“Although we do not have any confirmed cases of coronavirus among San Francisco residents, we cannot afford to be unprepared if circumstances change,” said Dr. Grant Colfax, director of the city’s health department.

 

“Given the high volume of travel between San Francisco and mainland China and the spread of the virus to other countries, there is a growing likelihood that we will see cases in San Francisco,” he said.

 

Declaring a state of emergency allows San Francisco officials to marshal resources and personnel to accelerate emergency planning measures and to expand capabilities for a rapid response to a potential coronavirus case in the city. Santa Clara County declared a state of emergency a few weeks ago for similar reasons.

 

City employees, for example, could be redirected from their normal duties to help share critical public health information in multiple languages.

 

There are currently 57 confirmed coronavirus cases in the U.S.

Can someone start a thread on deaths by Coronavirus…I'm curious to see if the virus is non-lethal but the treatment is lethal depending on if you are a bad guy or good guy???

20-Year-Old Illegal Alien From El Salvador Arrested For Raping 11-Year-Old Girl in Montgomery County

 

Police arrested Jonathan Coreas-Salamanca, 20, and Ivan Reyes Lopez, 19, last week on allegations they raped two different 11-year-old girls at apartments.

 

The two men were arrested at their Montgomery County public high schools — yes, these two grown men attend public HIGH SCHOOLS with minors!

 

Both men are being held without bond.

 

ICE confirmed this week that Jonathan Coreas-Salamanca is an illegal alien from El Salvador.

 

“U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) lodged a detainer for Jonathan Coreas-Salamanca, an unlawfully present Salvadoran national, with Montgomery County Detention Center on Feb. 14, following his arrest by Montgomery County Police for sex abuse of a minor and second degree rape,” read a Tuesday statement provided by ICE spokeswoman Kaitlyn Pote.

 

It is unclear how long Coreas-Salamanca has been living in the US illegally, however Customs and Border Protection confirmed with the Daily Caller that he has been in the US since he was a minor.

 

WJLA reported:

 

Coreas-Salamanca is accused of providing an 11-year-old girl with a cell phone sometime last year. He allegedly used that device to exchange explicit text messages and photographs with the girl, plus arrange sexual meetups.

 

On Christmas Eve, the victim’s father came across the phone and was stunned to find scores of text messages describing “vaginal intercourse, fellatio, and cunnilingus.”

 

“[The victim’s father] described a text message where Suspect Coreas-Salamanca advised Victim A that she bit his penis the last time she performed fellatio,” court documents state. “Suspect Coreas-Salamanca’s purpose in sending the text message was to teach Victim A how to better perform fellatio.”

 

The victim’s father immediately called the police. Patrol officers seized the phone and submitted it to the department’s Electronic Crime Unit for forensic analysis.

 

Lopez is accused of luring a different 11-year-old girl from a park near the Rollingwood Apartments in Silver Spring to his family’s apartment. The 19-year-old reportedly told the girl to sit down on a bed. He then turned on Netflix before raping her, the victim would later tell detectives.

 

Montgomery County is a “sanctuary city” and no matter how many minor girls are raped by illegal aliens, the Democrats insist on open borders policies.

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — The first clinical trial in the U.S. of a possible coronavirus treatment is underway in Nebraska and is eventually expected to include 400 patients at 50 locations around the world, officials said Tuesday.

 

Half of the patients in the international study will receive the antiviral medicine remdesivir while the other half will receive a placebo. Several other studies, including one looking at the same drug, are already underway internationally.

In an investigative report released last week, the 203-year-old institution published findings that the staff members engaged in "multiple instances of past sexual abuse, and physical abuse and/or corporal punishment from the 1950s through the 1980s."

"As a community, we are devastated," the school's executive director, Jeffrey Bravin, and president of the board of directors, Catherine Burns, said in a joint statement presenting the findings.

BELLEVUE, WA – -(AmmoLand.com)- The Second Amendment Foundation is cautioning the public about a new “toolkit” [embeded below] for gun control lobbying groups to help them campaign for passage of so-called “red flag” laws that create “Extreme Risk Protection Orders” designed to take firearms from people based on allegations from family members, intimate partners or others, raising concerns about due process.

 

The document, leaked to AmmoLand News, was produced jointly by the Alliance for Gun Responsibility, the Giffords gun control group and the Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence.

“This document,” noted SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb, “raises alarms because there’s a lot in it about taking someone’s guns, but only two paragraphs about returning firearms to their rightful owner.”

 

He recalled an earlier 80-page guide, reportedly paid for by Michael Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns, discovered during an Internet search, that provided strategies to anti-gun groups for mounting gun control campaigns in their communities. He co-authored a book about that experience titled “Dancing In Blood: Exposing the Gun Ban Lobby’s Playbook to Destroy Your Rights.”

 

Gottlieb’s alarms were raised by the inclusion of a letter from a California sheriff’s official that referred to a May 2014 multiple murder in Isla Vista, California as “a shooting spree.”

 

“Six victims in that rampage were stabbed or slashed to death,” Gottlieb recalled. “It also suggests the shooting occurred at the University of California, Santa Barbara campus, but it didn’t. The term ‘gun violence’ appears throughout, but there’s not a word about ‘knife violence’ nor any mention of the fact that the killer bought three firearms, all legally with background checks and waiting periods.

 

“We’re all for preventing violent crimes and tragedies such as suicide,” he added, “but there are genuine civil rights and due process concerns related to the use of such orders to disarm someone, following a court hearing they may not even be aware of, before they have a chance to defend against any allegations. This guide asserts guns are ‘temporarily’ removed, but that is not really be the case in some instances.

 

“This document calls itself a ‘toolkit’ for saving lives,” Gottlieb said, “but it talks more about taking guns from people than protecting their rights and means of self-defense. So far as we can tell, this is just another gun control strategy guide aimed at preventing gun ownership rather than preventing tragedies.”

A lawyer for Julian Assange yesterday accused the US of “boldly and blatantly” misstating facts about the WikiLeaks founder’s conduct, on the second day of his extradition hearing in Britain.

Assange faces charges under the US Espionage Act for the 2010 release of a trove of secret files detailing aspects of US military campaigns in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Washington claims the 48-year-old Australian helped intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning to steal the documents before recklessly exposing confidential sources around the world.

But defence lawyer Mark Summers argued much of the 18-charge US indictment Assange will face if extradited was “provably wrong”, adding elements were “lies, lies and more lies”.

“It’s difficult to conceive of a clearer example of an extradition request that boldly and blatantly misstates the facts as they are known to be to the US government,” he told a packed courtroom in southeast London.

However James Lewis, a lawyer for the US, called the defence’s testimony a “series of misstatements about how the indictment is formulated”. He called the Assange team’s strategy “a “fundamental mischaracterisation of… the allegations”.

Assange spent much of the past decade holed up in Ecuador’s London embassy to avoid separate legal proceedings in Sweden, but Washington is now seeking his transfer to stand trial.

The extradition hearing at Woolwich Crown Court, next to the high-security Belmarsh prison where he is being held, is expected to last five days before reconvening in May.

Coronavirus Quarantine at US Base: No Booze, Movies or View But 'Safer' Than Cruise Ship

—When Otis and Carol Menasco of Granite Bay got off the Diamond Princess cruise ship in Japan where they'd been quarantined for almost two weeks because of the coronavirus, they were led to believe they'd be transported to Travis Air Force base in Fairfield, about 90 minutes from their home outside Sacramento.

—A few hours into the flight, they overhead paramedics saying they were going not to Travis but to Lackland Air Force Base near San Antonio. Others on the flight were also surprised, Otis Menasco said

—At Lackland, they began serving a minimum 14-day quarantine on Monday. They're confined to a room much smaller and more primitive than the luxurious cabin they'd had aboard the cruise ship.

—They have one phone number to call if they need something in their room, but don't know who to call for information about their situation. The only human contact they have is with the paramedics who come twice a day to take their temperatures.

—When the Diamond Princess docked in Yokohama on Feb. 3 at the end of their cruise, the Menascos thought they'd be going home the next day. Instead, they were to be held for 14 days because of an outbreak of coronavirus. At least 621 on the ship have become infected. As the number of cases grew, the U.S. State Department and other agencies chartered two cargo planes to evacuate 338 Americans from the ship to Travis and Lackland. Other Americans previously evacuated from Wuhan, China, were taken to the same bases but held in separate areas. Some of those people were released this week.

—The cruise ship evacuation was voluntary, but the U.S. Embassy strongly encouraged passengers to take. En route to the airport, the government learned that 14 passengers on the buses had tested positive for the coronavirus, but showed no symptoms before boarding. Before they got on the bus, "they took our passports," Menasco said.

—In a press conference, a doctor with the State Department said passengers were removed from the buses "as soon as those buses sort of came to a stop on the tarmac and it was safe to do so."

—The 14 passengers who tested positive were allowed to board the aircraft, but were seated in a sort of plastic isolation chamber.

—On the Menascos' plane, there were 151 people; seven were isolated with positive lab tests and two more were placed in isolation during the flight for fever, according to the State Department briefing.

—Otis said the cargo plane was "very, very cold; pretty miserable." There were no bathrooms or sinks on the plane, only portable toilets and hand sanitizer.

—By the time they arrived at the barracks in San Antonio early Monday morning, they'd been traveling for 20 hours, 14 on the plane. "The first thing you want to do is take a nap, the second is take a shower," Otis said. But there was only one towel in the room.

—"We are in a little tiny room, like a studio apartment," Otis said. There's a small refrigerator and microwave, a chest of drawers and a bathroom. They've asked for cleaning supplies and garbage bags, but haven't gotten any yet. Three times a day, someone knocks on the door and leaves a meal in a brown paper bag on the ground. And there's no booze.

—At Lackland, the Menascos ordered six bottles of wine from Amazon and were told the shipment could be delivered, but when it got to the base, whoever received it didn't know they could have it or misdirected it, and it was sent back.

—On the ship, they had Wi-Fi and movies on demand, but couldn't make phone calls. In Texas, they have a TV and phone service but no movies on demand. Their one-bedroom cabin on the ship had a private balcony that let them get fresh air while avoiding other passengers. They think that helped them stay healthy. At Lackland, they can go outside in a fenced yard, watched over by security guards. But they're afraid to go out, especially after paramedics told them that four more people were taken to the hospital with possible infection. (Those isolated on the planes were taken to a hospital in Nebraska, not the air bases.)

—The Menascos are taking the ordeal in stride and trying not to complain, merely answering questions posed by this columnist. Although the room, the food, the view and the service was better when they were quarantined on the ship, they're glad to be in the United States. "We feel safer here," Otis said, and less likely to become infected.

Musk's SpaceX rocket production facility approved by Port of Los Angeles

 

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - SpaceX, the private rocket company of high tech entrepreneur Elon Musk, won final approval on Tuesday to build a research and manufacturing plant for its deep-space Starship project on a tract of vacant land at the Port of Los Angeles. The Los Angeles City Council granted a permit for the facility by a unanimous 12-0 vote, paving the way for Musk, also the founder of Tesla Inc electric car company, to proceed with an accelerated development of a new spacecraft and rocket system designed to carry humans to the moon and Mars. The L.A. Board of Harbor Commissioners gave its go-ahead to the 10-year permit last week. “It’s crazy that here we are in 2020 preparing ourselves to send people to Mars, and it’s going to happen in our backyard,” Councilman Joe Buscaino, whose district includes the port, said before Tuesday’s vote. “We are becoming a spaceport.”

 

Operations at the facility will actually be confined to research, design and fabrication of aerospace components. Space vehicles built there are not permitted for launch but will be transported out of the port complex by barge or ship. The council action clears the way for SpaceX to begin leasing 12.5 acres (5 hectares) of property on Terminal Island for its Starship plant at a starting rent of $1.7 million a year, with an option to expand its site to 19 acres.

 

The company, formally known as Space Exploration Technologies, has an option to terminate the permit within 180 days. SpaceX secured a similar permit two years ago, but canceled it and moved its initial phase of the Starship project to Texas, where the company has developed and tested an early prototype dubbed Starhopper. The Los Angeles Port site will bring further Starship development closer to SpaceX’s headquarters in the L.A. suburb of Hawthorne, where it has manufactured its workhorse Falcon 9 rockets and Dragon crew capsules.

 

The future facility, which may incorporate renovations to abandoned warehouse and workshop structures on the site, is expected to provide 130 new jobs, according to Musk.

 

As designed, the Starship itself is actually the top half of a colossal interplanetary rocket system that will stand 387 feet (118 meters) tall and be capable of ferrying dozens of humans to the moon and Mars in a single launch.

 

Musk has said that he hopes the Starship will be ready for its first orbital test flight later this year.*

Not saying that POTUS will not be in the middle of an advertised trip abroad when events in the plan start happening, but to assume with each and every foreign trip that "IT'S HAPPENING" - well, if that were to be the case, I'd be looking for an extended block of time when there are no scheduled events on his itinerary. Would this operation even be possible without anonymous researchers like Aaron Swartz ? Who almost single handedly prevented CISPA and SOPA legislation? It wouldn't.
