I know similar systems are in operation in Europe. Most of them are based on real time data that is shared from metadata used to give passengers up-to-date travel information.
Iirc that same data was used when Greta was virtuesignalling on that german train (photo-op where she was sitting on the floor because it was 'too crowded' but she was actually travelling first class). She got called out the the German Rail company (Deutsche Bahn).
